Absolutely fantastic!!

This place is one of the best we’ve ever stayed in. It’s more than we expected, clean, tidy, super inviting. The host was amazing providing great local knowledge and offered information for the options of dinner locally. Amazing stay in Portree

It is a very nice guest house we stayed in. Our host was the kindest, we also got breakfast which was very fulfilling and delicious. Our room was too really nice and clean, the property itself is a nice little walk from the center. Would highly recommend, if we have the chance we’ll definitely return.

What a great find, limited rooms available in first class B&B. only 5 minute walk to the center of town. Room was very clean and the shared lounge area was comfortable and a great setting for breakfast. Great quality ingredients used and the best Scottish breakfast we had all week which is a compliment as the rest of the week we stayed in 4 star hotels.

Check in would have been better if it was 3pm, 4pm check in is a little late when you have been driving for 7 hours

A true gem!

Kirsteen is an excellent host, nothing is too much trouble for her and she is happy to pass on any information she can about the area, where to eat etc. She advised us about the short cut into town which was so easy, but bring a torch if you’re there in the darker evenings! The property itself is very clean due to the no shoes and no dogs policy, there’s space to leave your shoes in the entrance hall, and slippers are even provided if required, it really is no bother and helps to maintain a spotless property. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable and the bathroom was superb! The bedding was of high quality and the towels large and fluffy. There was plenty of top quality tea and coffee provided in the room. The breakfast was freshly cooked to order with fresh fruit salad and cereals available too. Highly recommended!

Cosy Scottish Charm with thoughtful host

This was the perfect stay on a road trip through the Isle of Skye. We’d never stayed in a proper bed and breakfast before but absolutely loved it. There were 3 rooms so it meant that it was so cosy and quiet. Our room was very modern and well stocked with teas, biscuits and useful facilities. There was a lounge area lovingly decorated for Christmas that was perfect for reading a book. Kirsteen and her daughter were wonderful hosts and we loved the cooked breakfast in the mornings. Kirsteen was so friendly and we loved chatting and getting recommendations on things to see in the area.

Nothing, it was an excellent stay and we would recommend to anyone visiting the Isle of Skye.

Affordable luxury close to Portree

Kirsteen was a wonderful host who went above and beyond to assist us and the other guests staying at Stonefield House. The room was large, comfortable and quiet. The bathroom was beyond our expectations in size, warmth and space to spread out. We really enjoyed the breakfast that included fresh fruit salad, yoghurt, pancakes, croissants as well as cooked eggs with a choice of extras. It kept us going all day. We felt relaxed and well looked after during our two nights at Stonefield House.

The area around Portree was not friendly to our car’s GPS and our phone seemed to be in a dead spot so directions with names of streets would have helped us.

An awesome experience

The location was within walking distance to restaurants and a supermarket. I loved the no shoes, no dogs policy. I love dogs but don't appreciate them on my bed. The hosts were warm and friendly. Rooms were warm, clean and the bedding was of a great quality. The bathroom was spacious, modern and great pressure in the shower. Breakfast was amazing. Lots to choose from. My favorite was the porridge, fresh fruit salad and warm croissants. The Quiraing hike was mildly challenging but amazing views and awesome rock formations. Brothers Point was beautiful. The Stein Inn, oldest Inn on Skye, well worth a visit. Full of character and great food. The Coastal Waternish Walk is truely beautiful.

Perfect, quiet location just a few minutes walk from the main square. Family run, well appointed and cared-for facilities, with a homey feeling and attention to details. Large bedroom with new ensuite. Great breakfast, with eggs cooked to order and good choice of cereals, baked goodies etc. Very nice and helpful landlady.

We loved our stay at Stonefield House! The house is beautifully decorated, and our stay exceeded all our expectations. Cookies in the room, cold water and milk available, enough space in the bathroom, good water pressure.. and the breakfast was delicious. We know where we‘ll stay when we come back to skye.

Boutique style compact bedroom with comforts including fridge.

Very clean and modern place to stay. Lovely hostess Kirsteen. Her regime is to leave outdoor footwear at the entrance lobby and wear new, free slip-on slippers. Rooms are all up two flights of stairs. The room was adequate if a little petite and compact with not much shelf space to put anything on, but it was fine for just 2 nights. we had our own fridge. The wifi signal was much better than we expected. Breakfast was timed 0800 or 0815, 0830 or 0845…plentiful and well presented. Adequate free parking.

The fan in the ensuite is very loud, and would wake us during the night with the light switching on.

Amazing stay in Portree!

Everything! Kirsteen is an amazing host, and the property is just great. Good base for Isle of Skye, and close to downtown Portree. Kirsteen really goes above and beyond to ensure you have a great stay. Scotch available when checking in, breakfast to your liking. The room and property was well decorated!

Close to town, but not IN town. Easy 5-7 minute walk to all the restaurants. Very modern and clean. Has a lovely sitting room where you can get to know the other people staying there. Breakfast in the morning was fabulous! She gives you a form the day before so you can order hot food, but there is also juice, cereal and croissants.

Wholesome - felt like a hotel

Absolutely loved this place! The room is well equipped with everything that you need. The bathroom is great too. The location is a 10/10 with the city centre just a 8-10 min walk away. Kirsteen is a lovely host. She gave us great local recommendations. She was also extremely accommodating of our needs (my brother fell sick and couldn’t have breakfast so we asked her for extra fruits and she happily gave them to us!)

Great experience with great host.

Everything was excellent. The host, Kirsteen was very welcoming and very accommodating for our 11 month old. Breakfast was very good, and the host made sure that our wee one had what she needed. The town centre is only 10 minute walk away and Kirsteen was very good at recommending places to eat and visit. Highly recommend.
