The house was beautiful, breakfast was amazing as was dinner on both nights, Murdo was extremely helpful and nothing was too much to ask, big shout out to his son food was exceptional

Excellent welcome and support throughout whole stay with Murdo and Scott giving great advice about where to go and what to see. Excellent food cooked by Scott - beautifully presented and exceptional quality of local produce. Loved everything about our stay and eould recommend to all.

Overall, the best we experienced in the UK. Top quality facility, dining, host hospitality, and location. Murdo provided a very personable welcome and interaction, and son/chef Scott a creative, quality dining experience. Murdo provided practical and interesting guidance for sites and activities. Facility was spotless, and room and bedding sublime. All in all, wonderful stay.

Taransay is a wonderful place to stay in Portree—one of the best guest houses we stayed at in Scotland. The owner, Murdo, and his son, Scott, went above and beyond to make our visit memorable. They provided excellent recommendations for places to visit that were perfectly suited to the very foggy and rainy weather during our time on Skye. The food was fantastic, and the breakfast was both delicious and offered a great variety of choices. Our room and bathroom were beautifully appointed, comfortable, and impeccably maintained. Everything about our stay was relaxing and enjoyable. We had a truly wonderful experience and would highly recommend Taransay to anyone visiting the Isle of Skye.
