The bed was incredible. The room in general was perfect.

Room had a lovely view of the garden and the harbor in the distance. Quiet, clean, cozy, and comfortable, with a good restaurant on site for breakfast and dinner and other spa-like amenities. On site parking and a fairly central location on Skye made daytripping easy. 10 minute walk to the center of Portree for shops and restaurants.

Incredible staff, so welcoming, helpful, and hospitable. The hotel is well-styled and comfortable, and impeccably clean.
A reduced dinner menu was available (local cheeses, breads, etc) which was delicious and great to enjoy by the fire.
We awoke to a stunning view of the well-managed garden and the faint sound of bagpipes playing in the town centre. Bliss.
Parking was easy, too.

The restaurant was surprisingly good. It was clean and friendly.
Our room, though large, was cold and the bathroom needed serious updating. The shower trickled water.
We had to ask the staff to bring in a heater in the evening because we were freezing. Also VERY expensive, especially for what it was which was essentially a 3 star property. I realize there is a dearth of hotels in the area but it was far more expensive that our 5 star Fairmont hotel in St Andrews (and a lot less comfortable).
One more thing: the staff, while nice and friendly, all seemed new and as a result, couldn’t help us that much when I asked to speak to a manager. I will say that the person at the desk in the evening did provide us with a heater which was greatly appreciated!

Welcoming and comfortable with excellent bedrooms for weary travellers !
Staff were exceptionally helpful and hospitable. Special mention to the gentleman i/c the restaurant, highest standard.
We didn't have the opportunity for dinner but breakfast was one of the best cooked and presented we've enjoyed for a long time.
Nothing to dislike.
Suggestion - Hotel signage could do with a refresh to catch the eye more.

Nice clean rooms. Staff very friendly and efficient. Room size was good. The restaurant was excellent. Food was good and plentiful.
Price was way over-priced for what it was. We were paying five star price for,at most, a four star hotel.
Our second day (we had to switch rooms because our first room wasn’t available for two nights) we were at a family room. It was very large but it was chilly and we couldn’t adjust the temperature. So we were given two radiators. That helped quite a bit. But the shower the next morning was truly awful. It sputtered out water. (The bath the night before was excellent though.)
Overall the bathrooms in both rooms needed a major overhaul as the toilets don’t work well either. Plumbing definitely needs an upgrade!
The staff seemed very inexperienced. Most everyone we encountered were new and couldn’t really help us, even though they tried.

The room bore little resemblance to the photo. Tiny window, worn paintwork and headboard. Only a trickle of warm water from the shower and bedroom next to some kind of noisy generator (I wore head phones). And very expensive for the room quality.

Massively overpriced, music blaring in kitchen below room 7 from 6.30am. Friends had ordered surprise bottle and gifts for our arrival and they forgot. Delivered it at 9.30pm when we had already had to go to town for a drink.

The location was good however the room was smelly and unbearable. We had to move to another hotel at 10:30 PM in the night.
The room was so smelly we couldn't stay there for the night. After spending 3 hours in the lobby area waiting for the staff to handle the situation, it didn't work out and then we were shifted to another hotel at 10:30 PM. It was really disappointing to get such facilities after booking one of the premium hotels in Portree. The delay meant we couldn't spend our time in Portree as planned and had to cut down on some attractions in Isle of Skye the next day due to the fatigue caused by the transfer late at night. Even after all this, the hotel has not yet provided any compensation for the issues even though we were promised it will be sorted by next morning (18 June). One of the worst experiences of my life and would definitely not suggest this hotel to anyone.

Lovely rooms and building. Good feel about it
The shower has no pressure and was difficult in get in and out of. Curtains looked lovely but weren’t practical at keeping light out. Service was poor, didn’t feel like there was a lack of staff but rather a lack of training and organisation. Waiting 45 mins for breakfast was too long

Upon check in, the individuals at the front desk were incredibly kind and helpful! We had a fun time talking and interacting with them. They offered a great experience! The room was small but clean and had a nice view. The shower was a struggle with water pressure and warm water.
I would definitely avoid eating at any of the restaurants at this location. We had dinner reservations at Dulse & Brose and it was not a good experience for food or service! The breakfast at the hotel in the morning was equal to our dinner for food and service. On a different note, we stayed in the Oban Perle hotel which is under this same owner and had a wonderful breakfast experience for food and service!

1) first night, there was sudden false fire alarm, which disturbed our sleep, and the stuff did not explain or give some gesture at breakfast.. I think for such an high end hotel, they can do better
2) the shower water is not hot, it seems that first person use , the water is hot; bust for second person to use, the water temperature can be increased ; for such expensive hotel, I would expect to have good shower experience
3) at breakfast, the waitress gave us a menu but inside is empty

Borderline rudeness of the woman who checked us in, no elevators, nobody to help with bags, rooms were not cleaned (not even a towel and water refresh), bad second morning breakfast experience. This is not a cheap hotel. For £450 per night, I do not think it is unreasonable to expect help with your bags or to have your room cleaned without having to specially request.

Modern rooms. Enough space. Good heating/ air
We were given key to our room. On arrival it wasn’t cleaned. Man at desk saiid ( who tried to be helpful but said he’d been in the job a week and hadn’t had training) would call in the cleaner . We went for a walk at least 1 hr, returned. Room still not cleaned. So we took another room with different beds than we wanted. Next morning breakfast: every table was piled high with used dishes except a couple of tables which were bare. We had to find our own cutlery napkins etc and couldn’t see anyone eating. A woman near us said she’d been waiting 15 minutes. My husband went back to reception and told the young girl there ( who was reading her phone) that they needed help on the dining room. Our orange juice never arrived. We were given a platter for the centre of table which seemed to have pieces of food missing? Things eventually got sorted, avd the food was okay ( a Scottish okay).

Excellent breakfast, nice facilities
Staff was non existent. After waiting 15 minutes for a table, one staff member appeared at breakfast on Easter morning and apologized several times stating that they were short staffed. We had two superior double rooms, both at the same price. One was very noticeably smaller with no view. I repeatedly called the front desk throughout the day to make reservations for dinner and to address several issues in our room and received no answer. No one was ever there. I then emailed the front desk and never received a response. When we went to check out, no one was at the desk.
I finally found Willie at the desk our last night there and let him know that our internet, tv nor hair dryer worked in our room. He assured me that he would send someone up to fix it. Went back to my room. No one ever came. Went back to the front desk and Willie was not there. Found him in the lounge drinking with other guests. Was once again told that he would come up and fix the issues. Never did. This is completely unacceptable to pay $550 a night for a room that only has plug ins on one side of the bed, no mini fridge, extremely poor lighting in the bathroom, poor water pressure, took shower ten minutes each time for the water to get hot, no working tv or hair dryer and restaurant being closed at night due to staffing issues. This has the potential to be a nice accommodation albeit not for $550 a night. It’s appalling to email, repeatedly call and then go in person to the only staff member you can find only to have your issues completely ignored while they drink in the lounge. Let me add that I did call the front desk while in view of the desk only to see Willie watching videos on his phone and ignoring the ringing phone.

The only good thing is that it’s interior looks good. Otherwise, a complete rip off.
Firstly, Parking was limited, and the lot we got was a distance away from the entrance. We had 2 large suitcases and there was NO LIFT in this building. What “luxury” we had carrying our two 20kg suitcases up the stairs. We asked if there were rooms available on the ground floor but were met with a simple “no”. The front desk staff had offered to help with our suitcases, but at a premium hotel like this, that should have been a given.
Interiors look good but that’s about the only good thing i can say.
Walls are so paper thin, we heard the old guy next door gagging all night. Water pressure is really bad. We were out the whole day and had the room service card on our door but no room service was provided.
Oh, the cherry on top? They charged me about $50 more than what i had agreed to pay on the booking website. Someone else also had this issue in the reviews. Wow. Do not waste your money here.

We booked a family room, the shower door was broken and not in place and there was tape all over the floor of the shower. Which is not very hygienic and looked brown. Should not be possible for 500 euros a night.
