Excellent place to stay in Portree!

Great location within walking distance to everything in the charming town of Portree. The apartment is wonderful, and so is the host Marlena! Marlena goes out of her way to assist with everything you could imagine. She is beyond helpful, as she genuinely cares about her guests and their stay at 13 Matheson Place. The apartment is fully equipped with all of the items needed to have a great stay! Everything works perfectly and the apartment is comfortable and very quiet. The private parking was a bonus too. We would return to this apartment in a heartbeat and recommend it highly for other travellers.

We absolutely loved everything about this place! Not only was it beautiful and comfortable, our hostess thought of every last detail. Marlena has created a little pocket of paradise in an ordinary neighborhood. The weather wasn't great while we were there, but the outdoor space was pretty to look out on as well. The seating and little kitchenette were a very nice bonus. Most comfortable bed of our nine different lodgings. Continental breakfast items were ready for us and we took full advantage. Hands down best coffee of the whole trip. We might need to buy that Bosch! =) The location is convenient, quick access to the route out of town and just up the road from a grocery store. It was nice to have a parking spot. Marlena met us to offer sightseeing opportunities and advice on local restaurants. Such a friendly outgoing person, that was a highlight. This BnB made me want to skip sightseeing and just stay in bed! Book it immediately, you'll be glad you did!

Just one suggestion--maybe add a lighter comforter or quilt option. We were a little warm even with the heat off. Otherwise, perfection.

Spotless, well presented and very comfortable. Marlena was a wonderful host. We weren’t expecting the extras like the cereals, milk, soft drink, coffee and chocolates that Marlena provided. It was much appreciated. We highly recommend this place.

Perfect Location for Visiting Portree

We loved staying at 13 Matheson Place! Marlena is the perfect hostess and greeted us after we arrived. The apartment was perfect - beautifully decorated and spacious. The CoOp food store was right down the block and restaurants in Portree were only a 15-20 minute walk from the apartment. We stayed in Portree because it is only about a 20 minute drive away from the Old Man of Storr. Be sure to get there early to avoid the crowds - we arrived at 7:30 am. We also visited several other sites we wanted to see in the area. Thank you for your warm hospitality, Marlena - Cheers !!

The place is a perfect little stay for 1-2 travellers. Marlena was very welcoming and provided even some supplies for breakfast. The shower was sooo good after long days of hiking and the bed really comfy. Thank you

This is a very clean living space which is homely and has everything that you need nicely stocked up by the host Marlena. She is proactive, responsive and very kind . I saw the Aurora here on my first night, which was a plus point for my travel . The linens were clean n soft

An exceptionally good holiday option.

The room was immaculately clean, well designed and decorated, and exceptionally well-equipped for our stay. Marlena was a friendly and very helpful host and had clearly put enormous time and effort into thinking through everything guests could need. The property is just off the main road in Portree, Skye's biggest town, so it's a perfect base to explore the island. Can't want to go back.

Lovely apartment with very nice touches, close to city center

• Everything was spotless. It felt like we were the first guests to stay there! • Marlena and her hubby were so very kind as to send us into the town centre with their car, so we could have drinks without worrying about having to drive • We were given a bottle of complimentary Prosecco, which we enjoyed on the first night :) • The apartment has several different types of coffee and hot chocolate pods, which shows how the host doesn’t scrimp to make their guests happy. Bagels, cereal and milk were also provided.

• Nothing I didn’t like really. Maybe the only suggestion is that it would be good to have more tabletop space in the bathroom to be able to spread out our toiletries/cosmetics.

Excellent place!

This place was excellent, beautifully decorated with some nice luxurious touches. It had everything we needed including some kindly supplied food and drink! Good location, big Co-op supermarket is across the road and Portree centre is 15-20 min walk.

The only thing I can think of was that the fridge buzzes rather loudly (and there are no doors between the kitchen and the bed) so if you're a light sleeper this is something to be aware of.
