Lovely cozy stay

The bothy was very cosy, we visited in November and had lots of rain and snow but at no point felt cold. All the facilities worked well and the kitchen was well stoked. The hosts even left a few supplies for when we arrived which was really appreciated as we arrived late, after all of the shops had closed.

Could have used some more cleaning supplies, such as a tea towel and sponges

I was also greeted by a friendly cat who liked to keep me company — Such a cozy and peaceful stay — I’d definitely come back again.

Nice Little Flat not to far from town center

Cozy, well appointed, little flat. Perfect for a couple. Friendly kitty greeted us every morning. Quiet location at the end of the road. It is almost 1/2 mile walk into town, downhill, but then you have to come back. Not hard for us, but may be for some. Please note that you should make dinner reservations in advance. Portree is small and busy!

Fabulous home with a thoughtful host.

Great location. The property had everything to make you feel like you were pampered at home. The host was extremely thoughtful and had some great bread, fruit, yogurt, juice and ham. Everything was clean modern and new. Thanks for a great time on Skye.

Lovely Bothy with everything you need for a holiday.

Everything you need for a holiday in a Bothy. Great utilities in the kitchen area which was well equipped and we made full use of it. Nice wee surprise of a welcome pack of essential foods including bread, milk, yoghurt, cheese, butter etc. Bed linen, towels, bathroom all immaculate. Lovely lounge area to chill out. Nice small sitting area outside to the front and back although we didn’t have the weather to make use of it. Parking right outside the Bothy. Great communication from host and throughout our stay with tips on ‘what is on’ in Portree. Close to town centre only a 10 minute walk.

Very nice accommodation in a good location.

The cottage was clean, quiet, and well decorated. It was obvious that the owners have made extra efforts to make the interior attractive and comfortable. The location was easy to find and a 10 minute walk from the center of Portree where there are many shops and restaurants. Short drives to Storr and Quiraing and other attractions. Overall a great place to stay.

Lovely ,clean ,modern ,nice little touches like basic groceries and a bowl of fruit

Little niggles ,one window wouldn't fully shut and trees and shrubs overhang the property meaning at this time of the year lots of spiders ! Hard to find in the dark although they tried their best to guide us ,we got there in the end and lastly ,it is not a long walk into Portree but it is very steep! Hard work if you are old or unfit .

Great place!

The bothy is very comfortable and to our big surprise had a lovely kitchen. We often stay in holiday apartments and are used to trying to make things work with a random assortment of cooking equipment and blunt knives, so this was refreshing. Everything you need was there and everything in good shape and quality. The host even left us some fresh things like bread fruit and cheese and there were staples available like oil, salt, rice, pasta, etc.. The lovely kitchen was especially great, because Skye seems to be quite touristy so going to a pub would have required waiting time. Also just so comfortable to have a nice meal at home after a day of sightseeing. Location is excellent as well. Communication was easy.

Lovely spot in Portree

Great, cosy spot with all the amenities we needed for a stay in Portree. The kitchen had a stocked pantry and we were easily able to make meals. Hector was also lovely and had bought some provisions for us ahead of time.

We thoroughly enjoyed talking with the host . Hector was very friendly and helpful. Aaron’s Bothy is in a great location for getting to the center of Portree and to the buses. The space was very comfortable for the two of us. It is charming and has two outdoor sitting areas.

An incredible stay in the best place!

Our stay was exceptional! We were greeted by Hector who was so friendly! It was very icy on the road and paths and he was already outside sprinkling salt on the paths so we could enter the building safely. He showed us around and told us where everything is situated, and he even stocked up with ham, cheese, butter, milk, eggs, bread, lots of canned goods, pasta etc. This was very kind of him, and anything that doesn’t get used goes to the local food bank, which was lovely to know! If we seen him when we are going to the car in the mornings, he would ask if we were enjoying our stay and if there was anything he could do for us. The place itself was so cozy! It was furnished with everything we could have needed, had lots of kitchen utensils, and for TV there is even Sky! The bed was so comfortable, and there were lots of blankets in the house if needed. Towels and even new slippers were provided too! The location was absolutely perfect for us, we travelled by car all around Skye and found it really easy. It’s only a 5-10 minute walk into Portree as well which makes it easy for shopping etc. The view from outside as well on the street was amazing! We 100% would stay here again, and I would highly recommend anyone to stay! If we could have extended our booking we really would have. Thanks for such an amazing time!

Great location

Close to the centre which makes easy to explore surround area, house was clean with fridge filled with all essentials, comfy bed, parking space just outside the door. Great communication from the owner. Owners were very welcoming, messaged with great information, whilst we were there responded quickly to messages. Highly recommended.

AMAZING and enjoyable stay!

This was truly a home away from home. I do not even know where to start :) The hosts provided detailed instructions on how to reach the place (better than Google maps) and ended up collecting me from the bus stop. There was a nice welcome gift. There are so many thoughtful and cosy touches by the hosts throughout the house, one can tell it is furnished and cared for with lots of love. One of the messages I got before arrival said there were “basic kitchen supplies”, but in reality it was fully stocked! I could cook every evening! A great selection of books on Skye, nature and hiking. Bed was so comfortable! I am definitely planning on coming back! I truly enjoyed it, thank you Julie and Hector!

Home away from home

Great little place with everything you could need for a short stay. Very comfortable bed and living area, and a kitchen stocked with a whole range of supplies - they went above and beyond in providing fresh ingredients and supplies. Well equipped with WiFi, Sky TV, a good selection of local guidebooks, fully equipped kitchen and even a washing machine in the shed outside. For a small structure in a cold and wet November week it was well heated and wasn't at all cold. Great location being just a short walk down into Portree/Port Righ, which is nicely situated on the island to get about and see the sights, with some great mountain terrain and waterfalls in the north of the island being particularly close.

Nothing major. As other reviews have mentioned, the cutlery drawer is a little hidden - we found it after a brief search, but it could perhaps use a label to make it easier to find?

Perfect place to stay on Isle of Skye

We spent 4 nights here for our Skye trip and everything was absolutely perfect! We really appreciated the milk, eggs, bread, cheese and all the other goodies to start us off before going to the grocery store. Bed was the comfiest out of all the other places we stayed in Scotland. The Isle of Skye was so magical, we hope to come back and wouldn’t hesitate to book here again!

I highly recommend Aaron's Bothy!

Aaron's Bothy exceeded our expectations! It is larger than it appears in the pictures and the hosts provide plenty of extra amenities, such as snacks, some food, and on-site laundry. There was also a friendly neighborhood cat that we enjoyed spending time with on the patio. The walk into town was, as advertised, a quick 10 minutes with beautiful views along the way. We would definitely stay here again, and it was our favorite stay of the whole trip!

There was no silverware (forks, spoons, etc.) while we were there so we had to get creative. We also couldn't figure out the wall heater in the bedroom, but didn't really need it since the weather was nice.

An exceptional property with everything you require for an island stay in a central location.

The property was beautifully presented and very clean. It was very comfortable and furnished to a high standard. We were delighted with the welcome pack of food, above and beyond what we expected or have ever experienced in other accommodation. Another bonus was the store cupboard items and toiletries which was a very thoughtful touch as we were island hopping. Julie and Hector had thought of everything, truly home from home. They were exceptional hosts.

Absolutely fabulous

Lovely place with beautiful decor and comfortable bed. We could find everything that we needed for a relaxing and comfortable break (even hair straightener is available). :) Hector our very friendly host has left us a very generous goodie bag (food, wine, beer etc) and provided a few tips for our stay on the island. The location is a short walk from the town centre, good parking is available. We are highly recommend Aaron’s Bothy.

Everything was amazing. Refrigerator stocked with cheese, milk, yogurt, butter eggs, bacon. Coffee, tea, bread and fruit. Prosecco. so after long drive we could relax and unwind. Have a nibble before walking to town. So clean. so cozy. Hector made us feel at home. Julie’s homey touches were everywhere. I would stay here every again in a minute. Nothing to say but WONDERFUL!!!!!
