Perfect for a quick getaway.

The location could not have been better! It was perfectly located with a view of the water, and everything was walkable. I also had dinner in the restaurant which was really good. Good breakfast options as well.

The beds were a bit lumpy, and the room got a bit too warm.

The room was a good size and offered lovely views of the harbour. Staff at the check-in desk were friendly and helpful, as were those in the restaurant. The food at both dinners I had in the restaurant was very good.

Amazing stay!

Despite some of the negative reviews we had read, our stay here was absolutely wonderful! Our room seemed to have been recently renovated — small, cozy, and beautifully designed, with everything we needed and an incredible view over Portree harbour. The bathroom was just as comfortable and spotless. The only thing we missed was a small fridge to keep drinks cool, but that’s really a minor detail. The reception staff were friendly and very helpful, and the breakfast team was equally kind and welcoming. We really liked their breakfast formula — a great selection and the perfect way to start the day! The hotel restaurant also offered good food at a fair price (for Portree). The location in Portree is perfect, both for exploring the town and for starting day trips around the island.

We honestly couldn’t find anything negative to say — we loved our stay and would happily come back!

Ok, but would not do it again for that price

Location and view from the room (room 2)

The bathroom was dirty, old black hair still in the shower. Bed wasn’t comfortable but okay. WiFi was so unreliable and slow. Breakfast has mid. Also note: no elevator, so you have to carry your suitcases (mine wasn’t too heavy so it was ok). No hairdryer in the rooms.

Central location for travelling on Isle of Skye

Location was good. Room was good size. Close to restaurants and access to all attractions on Isle of Skye.

The shower, with a broken arm was very difficult to get into. Squeezy. The breakfast okay. Basic bread choice, no seeded breads,more healthy. No fresh fruit except apples or bananas, canned peaches, etc. Felt it was on the frugal side, considering the hotel is not cheap.

Our stay was great. The room was incredibly large and clean. Breakfast (A+) kept us filled almost all day. It was such a nice bonus. We would stay there again.

Great customer service!

The included breakfast was very helpful. They helped resolve a parking situation I had which was very kind of them. Excellent customer service!!!

The shower did have a slight drip for a while after shutting it off/ using it which seemed to go one for longer than expected but this was very minor.

Decor was from the 1970’s very brown pine wooden ceilings, no data points anywhere, 1 accessible socket to plug things in. Very strange set up with an additional door into room from entrance door, reduced the usable space in room, en suite had a ‘vacant lock sign, similar to public toilets. Staff very very helpful but a uniform would help give a better impression.

Fully satisfying as two-night base on Skye.

Included breakfast very satisfying - items made to order. Parking was fine - just across the street. Location central and close to harbour. Staff very helpful and friendly. Of four hotels so far, only secure Wi-Fi (though slow). Close to east Trotternish attractions.

Over priced and underwhelming

Location was good and exterior looked inviting, Breakfast was good and breakfast staff welcoming and attentive.

My heart sank when I opened the door to our room. It smelt stale and the furnishings were tired and depressing. The carpet was dirty and the view From the window looked into a rusty stairwell and dump yard. There was a persistent knocking for hours (plumbing problem???) that made getting and staying asleep challenging (room 11). We stayed 2 nights and the room was not made up, towels changed or rubbish removed. Dinner was over priced and underwhelming. The gluten free option of fish and chips were not as the chips were not separately cooked. My husbands breaded haddock was more breading than haddock and was so oily he couldn't eat it .

A central reasonably priced hotel.

We had a large comfortable room. A good size bathroom with a good shower, plenty of hot water when needed. Good location in the centre of Portree. Plenty of choice for breakfast, either a full Scottish breakfast or help yourself continental breakfast.

If you required a cooked breakfast it could be quite a time in coming especially at 8.00 am, which seemed to be a very popular time.

The hotel didn’t add to the experience, but only served as a place to leave luggage during the day and lay our head down

The location, the bathtub, and the breakfast was good.

This is a difficult review because we had booked a sea room all the way back in early April and when we arrived on July 20, we were placed in an interior room with a view of the side of a building. The purpose of the sea room for us was for the air flow and the views. Unfortunately, that did not happen. The host at the front desk was very sweet and apologetic, but there was nothing that she could do because all the rooms were occupied for the two days we were there.
