Yuzuya Ryokan - Adult Only

authentic Ryokan experience; very quiet and peaceful

This was by far the most beautiful and memorable stay of our entire trip to Japan. The property is stunning, impeccably maintained, and everything was spotlessly clean. The staff were exceptional—warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive, making us feel truly cared for from the moment we arrived. The traditional ryokan breakfast was one of the best meals we had during our journey through Japan—authentic, beautifully prepared, and absolutely delicious. This stay was the highlight of our trip, and if we ever return to Japan, we would love to stay here again. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable Japanese experience.

Amazing location and exceptional food, right next door to the Yasaka shrine at the height of the festival, the atmosphere and the people were wonderful.

The location was nice. The ambiance was nice. Even though the pictures are misleading. You think when you arrive in the hotel that it is located in a garden or park or outside a bit of the city. They just have a small garden with a wall surrounded in order not to see that you are in the middle of the city. There was a small waterfall which was fake. They would shut it off at night.

Breakfast was very early and you had to make a reservation either 7:30 or 8:00 or 8:30! Also breakfast was only Japanese food, like fried fish, spices and rice in the morning. The bathroom of the room was very very cold. The whole lobby and corridors would smell like gas. They told us because it was cold these days they were using extra gas heaters. Not very nice.
