Ryokan Motonago

The welcome at this hotel was amazing. We felt like honored guests at a home, not a hotel. The room we had was very comfortable, relaxing and very pretty. We booked both dinner and breakfast - so glad we did. They were amazing experiences and served in a private dining room. We only had one night here. We checked in right at check in time and didn't leave the hotel until check out. It was such a wonderful experience with the hotel, dinner, the baths and breakfast that we didn't want to lose a minute of our time by leaving the hotel. We did explore the area before check in and it is located in a great place in Kyoto, cute shopping streets, temples and theater near by.

Everything- the hospitality, the views from my room, the bath, the Japanese breakfast and the location right in the heart of old Kyoto. The simplicity of the space and rituals leave you feeling very calm. I will definitely return, two nights was not long enough.

Nothing

The staff were wonderful and welcoming, the bed was incredibly comfortable and the room was beautiful. The bath was even better than I'd hoped for. They were extremely accommodating with my dietary requirements for breakfast. I loved my stay so much that I booked to stay again later in my trip!

This was the absolute highlight of our trip to Japan! We had one night in a room with private bathroom, private Onsen and with breakfast and dinner included. My full review is here - https://thehappydaystravels.com/best-ryokan-in-kyoto-japan/
