We loved how Sakanoue was so close to all the things we wanted to do in Kyoto. And it was the perfect blend of modern/traditional stay!

Very friendly staff- helpfull. Room was big and AC worked fine. We got help and suggestions with attractions. Their onsen was great. Great location for local bus travel. Great area to stay.

Excellent location, great hospitality, very clean premises, comfortable beds, washing machine and drinks dispenser, lots of free drinks in the room.
We liked everything - it is great value for money in a perfect location in the middle of Gion. We were not very keen on Japanese breakfast (but that’s a personal preference). Some of the furniture is a but perfectly clean and functional. We would stay there again with great pleasure
