Nice resort

Unique location with convenient parking. The rooms are spacious and stylish. The spa is very good. And the overall atmosphere truly reflects the charm of French Normandy

The breakfast was too simple and not very varied for a resort of this level. The staff often seemed busy with their own matters or discussing guests and did not greet guests or smile. The only exception was the housekeeping team, who were very polite and friendly

Will look for somewhere else to stay in future

Location, location location

Not accessible. Toilet in bathroom unusable by anyone. Door opens inward and practically sweeps the front of toilet. Add to that the fact that the toilet cubical is also very narrow (you can actually put your elbows on each wall if you sit on the toilet) and there’s just no room to just step in the toilet and close the door behind you.. Also tiniest room ever. Food in the restaurant is overhyped and basic at best. The Brie sharing starter was overcooked to the point that more than 50% of the pieces were completely empty. I don’t even want to talk about the pork chop which had been dissected perhaps to disguise the fact that it was all fat!

warm , comfortable and friendly

as usual the staff were very friendly and efficient and the room was quiet and comfortable. The proximity to the ferry is great and the meal we had in the restaurant was very good. In fact we were pleased to see that it was full unlike last time we were here when it was nearly empty

Although I understand the staff in the therapy area wanting to go home it could do with being open longer for new guests who can't book in until 4pm. Especially the pool, my wife was very disappointed that when she got down there it was due to close in 20mins

Lovely relaxing holiday while exploring the history of the area.

Great location for exploring the D Day landing beaches.

There needs to be hooks in the rooms to hang up coats etc. At breakfast, non-dairy milk (almond) milk was available but not non-dairy butter. As I am dairy intolerant; I had to buy my own and bring it each morning.

Overpriced and dated

Staff were very kind. Easy access to the beach, terrace overlooking the beach looked nice.

Check in not until 4pm which is ridiculous for any hotel but especially an alleged 4*. We had to stop somewhere to pass the time and so didn’t arrive until 5.30 only to be told swimming pool closes at 6.30 as it was a Sunday. I booked the hotel thinking it would be a nice relaxing stop off before the boat but just wasted my money as couldn’t use any of the facilities. Family room was awful and tiny with no door between bedroom and living area despite the photo showing a distinctly separate and private living room area. Staff finally moved me to the one that was the same as the photo when I booked but I had to insist. New room had a door but all rooms very dated and stuffy and air con didn’t work. Had to sleep with window open and it wasn’t even a hot day, but it kept banging shut. Toilet was separate and tiniest cubicle ever, couldn’t even close the door. Other people staying looked like coach trip people maybe it’s cheaper if you go through an operator but through booking its massively overpriced. Restaurant mainly fish and don’t look appealing so we ate at an Italian in the town, Mamma Mia, which was very nice.

Nice hotel, but some privacy issues…

Nice, modern facility. Very pleasant patio. On the beach.

We were on the ground floor and very close to the maritime bicycle Trail so it wasn’t very private. The air conditioning was not effective and we didn’t feel comfortable leaving the window open at night being so close to the trail. As cyclists, we thought it would be bike friendly, but it was not.

Very disappointed! Poor value for money.

Very small room, breakfast very very poor. No cold plates, glasses or bowls. From dishwasher to service. Invest some money and buy more plates. Last day there was no bread available in last 30 minutes. Spa is very dated.

This is our second visit and I would definitely come again.

I had my mother with me who has very limited mobility. We had a disabled bedroom. It was very comfortable and there was a raised toilet with a grip bar.

My mother could not use the shower. There was a fold down seat but no handles, grips, or non-slip mats. It may have been OK for someone in a wheelchair but was not appropriate for her (or, I think, for most disabled people).

Very pleasant hotel - right on the beach with good facilities

The welcome by the receptionists was excellent with everyone smiling and greeting us. We didn't have the opportunity to sample the facilities as we only stayed one night but the comfort and spare in the room was of a good standard. The facilities to charge our electric car were very good.

Our room was flooded and no other rooms were available. We were transferred by taxi to another hotel for our final night stay. The hotel was extremely uncomfortable without any spa facilities.The Riva Bella refused to offer any refund. This experience ruined our trip as this was a special occasion celebrating my husbands birthday. Not impressed with such lack of care. The previous evening we had two glasses of wine each added to our room charge which the hotel didn't charge to us but that really in no way compensated for losing the best part of our last day in France packing up, hanging around waiting and unpacking in a pretty horrible hotel.

Disappointing

The only reason I give 4 starts is because of the location, as it was very handy for us to take a ferry in the morning and some of the staff were very professional and friendly, specially in reception.

The rooms where very small for the price paid. About the spa, I am sure it is a paradise for elder and disabled people but for us as a family it was very disappointing, the water was just warm and the sauna too, it was a bit funny to see a lable saying you have to shower after the sauna to get back to the swimming pool when you do not get any sweat inside! The swimming pools are with salty water but full of chemicals that burn your eyes and nose. Dinner was very expensive, most of things where overcooked and it came with items missing that stated the menu. Breakfast was poor, the only thing we liked was the pastries. The lady who was cleaning the floor didn't use a yellow sign to make us aware of a wet floor and our son fell on the floor..

Ask for Extra towel reception said 10-15 minutes … but already checkin out no news about our towels :-( the ones we have were wet folded, no toiletries as seen in the photo ads. My daughter wanted this hotel and pick frustrated wasnt able to used the facility (swimming pool) as advertised for family but not allowed to.. Shower area needs to ne deep cleaned , molds everywhere. A/c wasnt working even we turned in/ off , decided to checkout early instead until checkout time.

Staff. Over priced room and restaurant. Staff more interested in the spa side of the business than the hotel. Room not ready until 4.30. We had arrived at 3. Staff made sure we gave them our credit card details and then we were dismissed.
