Fantastic hosts, very attentive. Breakfast was lovely, everything cooked perfectly to requests. Facilities in room were brilliant with a wide choice of tea/coffees/ mini fridge. Even some complimentary home made cake on arrival as the hosts had been cooking. Lovely

The proprietors are absolutely top notch - exceptionally kind, helpful and efficient. We felt fully welcome from the start, as they were happy to provide local info and to help us plan our activities and itineraries each day (they know places most tourists are not aware of and always have a restaurant/meal suggestion). The breakfast, which was included in the price, was nothing short of lavish. Each night, guests select what they'd like for breakfast the next morning, choosing from a menu that is stacked with delicious local bacon, eggs, sausages, breads, jams, plus cereals and yogurts, etc. Quality produce expertly cooked and served with a smile. The delicious, fresh-squeezed orange juice was truly a day maker, every morning. Plus, their sunny breakfast room was quite a convivial place to start each day. The entire place is spotless, the room was perfectly equipped and also very well thought out, and very comfortable for two of us. Extra points for the nice shower with abundant hot water. My travel companion is originally from the American South, where ultra-friendly hospitality is an art form, and she's officially awarded Villa Marina the highest marks for Southern hospitality. A 15-minute walk into centre of Torquay and a short stroll from Torre Abbey and the next door leisure centre and tennis courts.
