Could do better

Some of the staff are wonderful & couldn't do more to help, unfortunately not all staff are so good or stick to their word.

Disgusting dirty room. Cleaned the room the best I could myself but the carpet needs cleaning/changing it absolutely stinks & is filthy dirty. The bathroom also needs a deep clean.

HELL HOLE

Awful theres nothing to like please never book here tucked away just up from smackhead lane.

Where to start.. drug users smoking in lobby acholics with bottles of vodka walking around like something our of walking dead. scabby looking terrier dog growling and barking chasing us.inside and outside reading of cannabis smoke and damp .Onto the room leaky bath puddle of water spiders in full residence. "Bunk beds" 2 normal beds screwed together. Ladder outside room upto damp mouldy ceiling. Iv booked budget before but this is on a different level. you'd be better off sleeping in a car than forking out £45 for this dive. Staff weren't even there waited 15 minutes to check in which is a long time when your surrounded by the living dead.management company 24/7 completely rude refuse refunds and told me they would exchange my room told them they couldn't pay me to stay

Disappointing to say the least!!!

I booked the property after hearing the news a dear friend had passed away and we were there for the funeral today - it was altogether a not very nice experience - I didn’t know Torquay at all and would have much preferred to stay in a more decent hotel; the room was not hoovered as there was thread and fluff all over the carpet; only one mug had been left for tea and coffee; there was mouldy patch and mildew, peeling wall paper by the television; the indoor aerial was propped on the window; it was all very makeshift with the nearest essentials;

We went out for dinner as we had had a very difficult drive from Oxford and decided to look for another hotel whilst eating - my husband has asthma and we definitely didn’t want a mouldy room!!!!

AVOID MOST ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE WIFE DOUBLE ESPECIALLY IF YOU ALSO HAVE CHILDREN -

On arrival, told after 10 told there wouild be no staff. On finding room, not much toilet paper, carpet had bits over it, not been vacumed and was stained. Finally found mug, behind curtain. Was dirty, broken handle (inside mug). No spoon, 2 coffes, 1 tea, 1 sugar, no milk. Went to use phone on desk... no cable to phone, no plug for phone on wall anyway. Used my phone to phone hotel, it was a different hotel, explained the problems, told someone from desk would bring the supplies. Over an hour later phoned again to say nothing happened, poor reception this time. no joy. After 2 hrs approx went to reception thankfully staff had not yet left. During night, sounds in corridoor, looked out, what looked like boxer shorts or teashirt on floor near radiater. Strange smell... seeing it later the "cloth" no longer there but a patch with white bits (sick), was. Earlier in reception a lady had followed me from reception going back to my room, finally lost her, seemed to want money. Looked up the hotel later on google maps street view, showed 2 police cars outside hotel. Hotel is nothing like the pictures. It is seedy and run down. In taxi from hotel the driver told me it was used for placements by the council.

I ended my stay after 15 minutes. I returned the keys and checked out immediately. The room was not clean, and it was impossible to stay there with my wife and child. I'm waiting for a refund from Booking.com because it's not family-friendly.

The property upon arrival had a very strong smell of cannabis that gave us a headache and made us feel sick Shower water was cold Was woken up every hr by people standing out side smoking and talking very loud (smell of smoke drifted into the room) Mattress and carpets had large stains on them No staff on site to talk to about these problems Requested a refund because we couldn’t stay there and got refused

Absolutely nothing

Absolute hell hole ! It was filthy and the smell was indescribable! There were drunks all over the hotel, blocking the front entrance and even outside the room window. It was so bad that I actually left and booked into somewhere else. Ive asked for a refund but awaiting a response

Lovely, accommodating, friendly place to stay

This was our second time staying here with my partner and 2 young children, they loved it and felt safe and comfortable and it covered all our basic needs, the passcode door lock are great no need to worry about loosing a key/card. The new owner was very accommodating when we requested a room change on arrival , the room was very clean fresh towels on arrival, tea and milk on the room, working tv. Staff were always lovely and very polite, if we needed any extra like milk or toilet paper they were more than helpful to replenish. We would definitely be stopping here again hopefully during Christmas time, we also heard that some refurbishments are on the cards.

Only complaint was the person staying in the room above us was very loud , but again you could expect that anywhere no reflection on this hotel at all.

Lovely staff, perfect location, questionable power facilities

Staff were lovely and very accommodating when my train was delayed); very friendly and hassle-free service. The location was absolutely perfect for my needs (hospital consultation), and it's very close to Torre station as well. Very convenient code system for the doors as well.

The outlets are extremely low charging, so do bring powerbanks if you intend to stay here. Also, be aware that the building itself is extremely vertical.

Bed very comfortable and the bathroom in great condition and clean. Carpet very filthy though. Very dodgy other guests and others were surprised I stayed there! But they never bothered me or caused problems.

Handy for Torre station. Comfortable, quiet and the room was clean and functional. TV and WiFi well up to snuff.

For some reason the hotel seemed to be in the middle of a weed smoking area. Approaching from any direction involved some involuntary passive inhalation.

Perfect and cheap place to stay.

Our room was huge, a double bed and bunk beds. The linen and towels were perfectly clean, and the room and bathroom was spotless too. Supplied with kettle and hot drink sachets, and a fan. The security system/door locks were really good, and lots of cctv in reception and the hallways. The beds were really comfortable, and it was really quiet. Staff were really kind and helpful.

There is currently work being done out the front in the reception area, but we couldn't hear any work being done from our room and this did not affect our stay at all.

There was no tea bags or coffee,no teaspoon kettle was dusty.No handsoap and top window was open so unreachable.Rang a number that took Me to London and said My grievances yet still wasn't addressed after complaining.All night constant noise no staff member to sort this problem out.This as got to be the worse hotel ever stayed in.This needs to be took of booking .com site it's dangerous. NO Security even though ex convicts are staying at this hotel.The noise was appalling this is going will be reported to trade standards. Used beer cans and coffee cans littered in the carpark.

The room was bright and the wifi worked

The room was a very low standard. I know it's reasonable but basic hygiene needs were missing. There was no soap or shower gel in the bathroom, the shower didn't work, I had to wash my hair in the sink, the noise at nighttime was very loud until 3am. No remote control for the television. I didn't feel safe there, no room service and never saw anyone to talk about these issues. I stayed for 3 nights, on the last day there was no hot water and it was quite cold that night, no heating. The room was damp as well. When I went to check out the rooms downstairs had heating. I do not understand how this can be rated as a 3 star hotel and the managing team could see this is fine to treat people this way.

Friendly staff and exceptional value for money

Really friendly and helpful staff. Nick on the front desk was lovely and welcoming. Room was nice and clean. Plenty of fresh towels and tea/coffee things. Exceptional value for money and very close to Torre train station. It's a short walk to town centre and close to plenty of shops but a fairly quiet residential area so not too noisy etc in the evening. Check in and out was really easy and felt secure and safe here as a female solo traveller, with my small dog who was also made welcome and given a treat.

Room was a little worn IE carpet in places. Considering the price I think this is a minor issue.

Was okay but wouldn't return

Good location and bed was comfy decent wifi

Found lots of hair in the bathroom so it hadn't been cleaned... Also stains on the dovay and pillows lots of crumbs on the carpet needed a hoover... People being loud in the rooms till the early hours and being loud outside the front of the hotel which staff didn't acknowledge.
