Amazing! Rooms so clean and comfortable. Ordered room service breakfast and it exceeded expectations, nice and hot, good quality food. Nice and peaceful out of the centre but only a taxi ride away if you want to go into the city

Hotel is lovely but some attention needed in the rooms.

Common areas in the hotel were exceptional and service very good. Came for a friends 40th party and was well organised. Room was fine in that I had separate areas for the bed, little dressing area and separate wet room.

The room we were allocated (room 18) needs some maintenance. No where other than a hook on the wall to hang/store any clothing which fell off as soon as we hung a dress on it. The wet room needs re-grouting/cleaning as all the bits in-between look black. Also we had no hot water for a shower in the morning which wasn't great. No one on reception on check out to notify (needed to leave to get to Childs football game). Luckily we are local to the venue but if Id booked as a night away for a treat would have been very disappointed with the room.

Unsatisfactory. Cold room. Luke warm breakfast.

I ordered eggs benedict. It was good but not hot enough when it arrived. Only half of the bread bun was used instead of two halves. With 2 poached eggs on the one half. There was only one other person in the dining room but I waited over 15 mins for my breakfast to arrive.

In my room, number 22, the radiator wasn't working. I had to phone reception to report it and was brought a dusty portable heater which I had to leave on all night because the room was so cold.

Pleasant and comfortable but a few niggles.

Clean, comfortable and lots of character. Staff were extremely friendly.

Although room was big it was split up awkwardly. Seating area didn’t have a view of the tv - could only watch from the bed. Neither mirror was well lit so very awkward for applying make up.

Very cold room!!! Cold night, 6 degrees, no heating...asked to turn on the heating...but instead we were provided with a electric radiator...didn't do nothing...just noise... We couldn't enjoy the bathtub or anything...we stayed in the bed covered...

Short changed -no view but a lovely room.

The location. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well.

We had a deluxe room with a view of a wall. We picked the hotel because of the beautiful location and would have had breakfast in bed looking at a view instead we left disappointed.

Great Character Hotel, exactly where I needed it to be and at an exceptional price point

Room was very clean, as was the bathroom, with everything functioning as i would have hoped.

Dining was at a low standard for dinner on a Monday evening there was only a Bar Menu available, a choice of about four dishes as I recall. Breakfast was fine.

lovely peaceful location. had everything i needed inregards to toiletries/towels etc. Bed was comfy and clean. The terrace outside was lovely to sit out in and have abit of privacy

The floorboards and surrounding rooms were quite noisy, I think its just because it's an older building but it made it quite hard to sleep with hearing people above etc.

Nice wedding venue, bad hotel rooms

Wedding venue and hotel grounds are good and attractive. Wedding food was good. Ample parking. Staff were nice enough.

room 18 is extremely tiny, felt like a very budget hotel akin to premier inn but 3x the price, toilet made our room stink of sewage in the morning, a single pillow provided which was WAY too big, room had no wardrobe or place to hang clothes, room had no iron, absolutely ABYSMAL selection of wine stocked at the bar - Not even pinot grigio or blush!!! Even the worst pubs/bars i've ever been to stock that... Also, housekeeping were eating their lunch on the decorative seating outside our room, one was even sat on the floor at around 12pm. I felt bad for them, but it was extremely unprofessional and they should be in a staff canteen type area (We were going down to a very expensive wedding, not staying in a hostel!) To be fair, I did hear that some people attending the wedding had better rooms than ours. However, we all paid a similar price, and for one room to be basically an old storage cupboard and the other be "decent for the price" its unfair.

Lovely location but the rooms definitely need some maintenance and TLC.

The location, grounds are lovely. Staff were helpful when we asked to move rooms.

We were given a very tired looking room which wasn’t the main issue, the kitchen extractor fan right outside one of the windows was and the room having no view whatsoever. The room had a cooking odour and the noise from the fan was loud. We were moved rooms when we asked but again, this room was very tired but it did have a nice view. A small detail but the bottom sheet on the bed was way too small and didn’t fit, something I wouldn’t expect to find in a hotel of this advertised standard. Other things were poor fitting windows, poorly located plug sockets to use for doing hair (had to get on knees and plug in under the desk!) and no bedside lights.

Great location and superb grounds

Grand historic property in superb grounds which could offer more with a touch of ambience and a small spar/gym. It needs a colour specialist to make the place more appealing and a perfect example is the dining room which is merely a large room with no soul. It is an immaculately preserved building that is obviously a very popular local wedding venue but could be so much more!! But we would return because if it’s convenient location.

It's a nice hotel but much nicer without weddings!

Staff helpful and friendly. Bed was clean and comfortable and bathroom was clean.

room needed vaccuming - there were a couple of bits of debris on the carpet. There were no blackout cutains and the lights from the drive bothered me for most of the night. Breakfast was OK - there was a wedding party in and so not cooked to order as usually is. Really do not like guests arriving for breakfast in nightclothes - I think hotel should insist that people dress for breakfast.

We had a really pleasant stay. The building itself was quite impressive, and very well-maintained. We found the staff to be genuinely helpful and friendly, and the food we had was lovely – definitely good quality. Considering how nice everything was, the room rate was very reasonable indeed. We'd certainly be happy to return

Beautiful location with friendly staff and lovely facilities. The room was very comfortable and well decorated.

Flies in the room seemed to be coming in from the air con. Switched rooms because of it, but also had a big blue bottle come into the second room. This was unpleasant and marred an otherwise perfect experience.
