Wonderful stay in an idyllic location.

The staff were exceptional. Friendly and helpful. Fantastic balcony with wonderful view over the mountains. Great drinks and food. Breakfast is incredible, such a plentiful choice of fresh food. Comfortable beds. A special place, retreat, very relaxing. Supermarket and tourist office very close by. Fantastic walks to viewpoints and gorge and waterfalls.

Towels and bins emptied and beds made but floor wasn’t hoovered after night 2. The self service coffee machine at breakfast, so I just ordered coffee from the bar.

A very relaxing weekend getaway

Very clean hotel and beautiful location. Great breakfast. Very comfortable bed! We enjoyed our stay very much.

We paid extra for the ‘active’ room due to me being in late pregnancy and their official website states you also get a yoga ball and a yoga mat. The Booking app states yoga mat (no ball). Both would be great options for me to use, as I use them daily at home. However none of them were present in the room, which was really disappointing, as this is the only reason why we paid extra for this type of room. It is a rare situation, I know. However they are the ones stating they offer this service, so you expect to get it. Someone might say I am complicating things, but I’m sure all highly pregnant women will understand :)

Very friendly staff and an amazing hotel

One of my favorite hotels, where the rooms are very aesthetically designed in the style of the Alpine environment. The beds are fantastic, the pillows are tailored to your preferences, and the breakfasts are fit for a king. Not to mention the staff, who are very friendly and helpful. If you want a 5-star experience, I highly recommend Hotel Bohinj. You won't regret it.

Dissapointment

Good location.

Wellness is way too small for a hotel like this, and there is no resting bed in the wellness, only beam bags. This is a joke! Staff wasn't kind in the reception desk. They were bored and mechanical.

Very comfy and cosy hotel for leisure.

Design and interior.

Wellnes is a bit disapointment- small but crowdy anyway, even if we had to make a reservation before staying. This is the only thing that bodered us. Everything else was excellent.

Perfect hotel for a weekend stay

Just everything: perfect design, excellent friendly personnel (Arman especially), great food selection (dinners at top level), perfect location just few steps to the lake. We stayed during the autumn and fireplace was on during both evenings, which made atmosphere very homie. Also nice wellness and outdoor whirlpool. It was our second time there and it will become our family tradition 😊

If I have to mention something, pillows are a bit too large

The place to stay in Bohinj

Breakfast was very good, staff is extremely accommodating and friendly, location is excellent and near local restaurants, the lake is beautiful, spa and wellness area is small, but extremely nice. Hotel is a uniquely built wooden structure, modern and clean.

Not at all the fault of the hotel as staff did their best to ensure rules were followed. Some people just don’t listen….people didn’t abide by the nudity rules in the spa or were loud or treated the area like a party zone. Not at all the staff’s fault. Again, minor issue and the staff did address when needed.

Everything is perfect, as I am with a small kid I would always seem for more entertainment for him and a playground could be a good option. But the concept of the hotel is not kids oriented. Nevertheless we enjoyed our stay so much, so it is not and issue

Brilliant stay in Bohinj

Loved this hotel! The whole vibe was great. The rooms were simple but fit perfectly with the surroundings and the spa was fab.

I didn’t love the breakfast. I’d have preferred eggs to order and a toaster for the bread.

The eco aesthetics- original and relaxing. Location is perfect for Bohinj sitting just back from and above the lake. I loved the design. Cool contemporary and original. Staff were real, full of local knowledge, friendly, helpful even letting us borrow the hotels walking stick for our 3 day hike. Food was delicious . All in all superb. We were enjoying a mother and teen daughter break.

Great hotel, but the staff could benefit from additional training to better handle guest needs

Was great stay and great property, spa is very nice and breakfast is amazing.

The staff couldn’t arrange for me to stay in the same room for two nights, even though I said I was fine with moving to a lower-category room so another guest could be upgraded instead — just to avoid switching rooms. They still couldn’t accommodate this. I’ve stayed 250+ nights in hotels, and this has never happened to me before. In the first room, the AC barely worked and the room was uncomfortably hot. The second room was better, but the AC still needs an upgrade.

Beautiful hotel with an amazing view of nature

The room had an amazing view of the mountain, it was clean, comfortable, and visually calming. The hotel itself has a premium wood lodge feel, great interior design, as well as a relaxing ambience that's inspired by the traditions of the area. Our stay was amazing and serene. The breakfast had a large selection of local dishes, meats, and in-house spreads, which were delicious and fun to try. Overall, the establishment offers a lot of great services and is ideal for people who want a stay that matches the surrounding nature.

Two things could be improved, given the premium nature of the establishment. Firstly, the luxurious dinner menu is well thought out and visually appealing, but the food falls somewhat short of living up to the menu descriptions. It's underseasoned, and the interesting flavor combinations listed on the menu aren't as pronounced. The flavors lack boldness compared to the creative pairings they presented. Secondly, the hotel has several outdoor speakers built into the ground of the garden area, which is right below the balconies of the hotel rooms. The hotel played modern pop music almost all day, even on early Saturday morning, which is fine if the garden was brimming with people, but since it rained a lot, they removed the cushions on the outdoor seating area so nobody was lounging there. It clashed with the beautiful and serene mountain vista and ambience, and frankly, it was especially unnecessary in the morning. With those two elements fixed, the hotel would be 10/10.

Beautiful Spot

What an amazing stay! This hotel is definitely of our favorites. The decor and design of the hotel is truly unique - paying tribute to the first explorers to climb a nearby mountain. My wife and I loved everything about this place. The service (our waiter for supper was outstanding and friendly), the rooms, the decor, the location, the food, the local gin - everything. Thank you so much for an amazing stay. I highly recommend this hotel for an unforgettable experience. We will be back.

Scenic views and signature comfort at Vila Muhr, Hotel Bohinj.

We had a memorable two-night stay at Hotel Bohinj during our 10-day trip through the beautiful country of Slovenia. Based on glowing reviews, we booked mountain-facing rooms with balconies, but upon arrival, we were offered an upgrade to their signature accommodation, Vila Muhr. We were fortunate to take advantage of this upgrade at a nominal price compared to the villa’s usual rate, which also included the benefit of a late checkout, perfect for our evening flight. The villa was exceptional, offering luxurious comfort and a host of amenities. Vila Muhr offers a unique sense of privacy and exclusivity, perfect for a truly premium stay. The view from the balcony was breathtaking, and the in-house sauna added a special touch to our experience. The hotel’s central location in Bohinj made everything easily accessible, and we even had the pleasure of witnessing the local cultural event "Salute to Triglav" right next to the hotel grounds..an unexpected and delightful highlight. We would especially like to thank Simon, who assisted us throughout the check-in and check-out process with warmth and professionalism, making our stay even more seamless. As frequent travellers, we absolutely see ourselves returning to this property in the near future!

The Booking app says that the hotel has air conditioning. It doesn’t!!! Only ventilation. Very hard to sleep when there are 30 degrees in the summer. We ordered a fruit plate from the menu, half of them came rotten! Not the standard we expected.

We had a truly enjoyable stay at Hotel Bohinj — a beautifully designed retreat in the heart of Bohinj, with a bus stop right in front and all the main attractions within walking distance or a short drive. The hotel’s wooden alpine architecture adds a warm and modern feel, perfectly reflecting the natural surroundings. Our room was tastefully decorated, with excellent sound insulation and a very comfortable bed. We appreciated the welcome drinks and Bohinj coffee — such a nice local touch. One of the highlights was the private hot tub in the room with an amazing mountain view — a perfect way to relax after a long day of hiking. The floating breakfast was another unforgettable experience. When we arrived at the spa area, everything was beautifully arranged. The pool was warm, the setting private, and the food fresh and plentiful. The entire spa area was peaceful, clean, and well-equipped — we had everything we needed for a relaxing morning. Breakfast in the main restaurant was also very good, with a nice variety of fresh juices, fruits, and bakery items. The staff were consistently polite, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. We were grateful for the early check-in, but we did notice that the toiletries (shampoo, shower gel, tissue) were only partially stocked, and we had to request refills more than once. Additionally, during our 3-night stay, there was no regular housekeeping unless we specifically asked for it — something to be aware of, though not a major issue. Overall, Hotel Bohinj truly stands out for its prime location, beautiful design, and peaceful atmosphere. With a few small improvements — particularly in room preparation and climate comfort — it could be outstanding. We highly recommend it and would happily return.

A small detail: we found a cigarette remnant in the pool water during our floating breakfast — a rare oversight, but worth noting. Also, while the nightly outdoor fire adds ambiance for many, it was a bit difficult for us due to asthma and allergies. And with daytime temperatures reaching 27°C, we felt that having air conditioning would make the stay much more comfortable.

Everything was super clean, staff was always nice and welcoming. Breakfast was amazing and rich! Special thanks to Petra, the girl from reception for wellness. She always welcomed us warmhearted and asked us how are we, helped with everything we asked for! Rooms are beautiful as the view from the room!

The thing for room card didn’t work well, we had to try multiple times so we can get in the room (no worries, wasn’t a big deal to us). I think you have a very small offer for lunch and dinner, but overall nice food. I know you have fit rooms, but maybe some kind of gym as addition would be great to have in the hotel

Nature weekend

The breakfast and the design of the hotel are really great! At night the hotel looks like a romantic wooden fairytale. We loved the room, and the balcony in the nature. It's in great location, only few minutes from Bohinj lake. All in all a great nature filled weekend.

The parking doesnt have enough space for all the cars so we had to park on lawn near hotel. You really have to "fight" to find your place.

10/10 would recommend

The hotel was truly amazing, room was super clean and smelled like cinnamon (in a good way😂). We booked a spa in the evening and enjoyed the saunas and the pool. Since there was a limited number of guests in the spa, it wasn’t crowded at all, we were mostrly alone in the saunas. One evening we had a dinner in the hotel and liked it even though it was a bit pricy. The hotel is around 100m away from lake Bohinj, the whole scenery around the hotel is just breathtaking.

In my opinion, the bed could be more comfortable, maybe the mattress is too soft.

Romantic mountain retreat

The whole hotel is decorated and designed beautifully. We loved the wood interior design and the moody lighting in the rooms. The hotel is extremely clean and well maintained. The staff is also really kind. They noticed we checked in for my partners birthday and gave us vouchers for cakes. The breakfast had a lot of variety and was very tasty.

The wellness was a bit small and the outside pool was too cold. The hotel played sad music on the speakers all the time which made the environment a bit melancholic.

Alpine retreat

Modern, clean, comfortable, well thought out rooms, great balcony’s that can be used in the sun and rain with beautiful views. Brilliant location, a hop, skip and a jump from the lake with a few casual eateries and bars very close by. Easy access to activities and walking routes. Great spa for relaxing in post activities just note you need to pre-book ahead to enter each day. We also loved the fire pit in the hotel grounds in the evening.

One minor gripe was the shower was very hard to drain and flooded the first day we used, but staff were quick to help sort and clean up.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The rooms were comfortable, with nice beds. The staff was particularly helpful. Both the breakfast and dinner were very good. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

The wellness could be available for younger children as well (over 15). Also, the curtains in the hotel aren't completely blackout, but it's just the detail.
