Comfortable stay in Lake Bohinj

Appreciated Janja’s hospitality and the secure bike storage. Friendly host who went out of her way to make our stay memorable. Enjoyed a great meal at the restaurant.

Perfect Location and quirky stay

The location is what makes this hotel worth staying. Very close to Lake Bohinj which was simply stunning. We found this area far prettier, less busy and cheaper than Lake Bled. The lake is better in every respect other than not having a fancy castle. The host Janja was very friendly, incredibly helpful (with some lunches for our day trip) and seems to work 24/7. You genuinely can't fault the service and location. Do the 14km trek around the lake - At the far end of the lake is a river (Savica) and by this there is a beautiful area to sunbathe and take a dip in the lake. We enjoyed the quirky decor. There's also a field opposite the hotel where kids kicked a ball about. We didn't try the restaurant but did have a burger at the hotel next door which was excellent.

The accommodation is quite basic. The bedding could do with an upgrade and the bathrooms could also do with some work. I think the price is fair given the location but a bit of work would really make all the difference.

A family stay at Bohijn lake.

The staff was very attentive and helpful, fast. The location was excellent. Food was local, homey and tasty. Loved it, or rather the vegetarian options of it. Beds were comfy. I could roll down the shades so I was sleeping in technical darkness plus no noise, which I also do at home. So yey😃👌 Parking space ready for us.

We would have welcomed a kettle in our rooms.

A great little place close

The room is situated above a great little restaurant and it is perfectly located. A short walk to the lake, bus stop and the supermarket is just across the road.

The property is great, however with it being summer, I found the duvet far too warm. Luckily I had a sarong to use as a sheet to sleep with. A think a light blanket or a sheet would be more comfortable.

Shower drainage didn’t work well, and there is nowhere to hang anything whilst in the shower, a hook on the door could even be good, and a shelf in the shower. Also soap would be useful

Pleasant pensione option in Bohinj!

Lovely host and great on-site restaurant! (Even if you end up not staying here, would definitely recommend stopping by for dinner.) The balcony was a very nice feature.

Ended up being too small for us -- which is our fault and not the fault of the host because this is a pensione, after all, and not an apartment -- but the quantity of stairs should have been disclosed as this could be a problem for anyone with problems carrying luggage up a few flights of stairs.

Very hospitable, excellently located and dog friendly stay

The host was extremely friendly, we really enjoyed our days here. Its location is excellent, just right at the lake, close to the small local market and other facilities too. The pension’s restaurant offers delicious food and great coffee too. Bonus point that they are dog friendly, with no additional fees for your dog. We will come back!😊

We liked it, although the guesthouse itself could use some improvements in various areas...

My partner and I stayed at Penzion Rožič for 3 nights, for New Year's. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by a very friendly lady who also works at the guesthouse. She also arranged our check-in. She immediately gave us all the information regarding our stay, what we could see in the municipality of Bohinj and where the main events would take place on New Year's Eve. In short, we were very positively received, and the lady also escorted us to our room, which was located on the 1st floor of their guesthouse. The room is furnished a bit old-fashioned, but that didn't bother my partner and I. :) We also had a nice balcony with a direct view of Vogel and the surrounding mountains. The room was simple, with a small TV with a few channels, but that wasn't a problem for us. In addition to the accommodation, they have a lot of free parking, so there were no problems with parking, even though we came with a larger car. :) A few steps away from the accommodation is a small Mercator store, post office and tourist information, which was very useful for us. A little further on is the beautiful Bohinj Lake with a beautiful view. We were satisfied with the accommodation, the hosts and the food in their restaurant and in the nearby restaurant Foksner! We recommend it! Also we recommend local food, it was great! :)

What bothered me and my partner the most about the accommodation itself was the bathroom. It was really small, so much so that we had to keep the wooden door wide open every time we could use the toilet. The toilet bowl is placed in such a position that it is very difficult for a slightly larger person to sit on it. So my partner and I did not close it at all. We were also bothered by the fact that the drain from the shower cabin did not absorb water well. There was a strange smell coming from the main drain on the bathroom floor, which also spread throughout the room. We were also bothered by the creaking of the bed every time you turned over at night. The yoga mat was also a bit too soft for us. What bothered us the most during our stay was that the walls in the facility are apparently extremely thin and we could hear everything our neighbors were talking about. It was very annoying. The most annoying thing was the sound of other guests in the bathroom. The last thing that bothered us was the lack of privacy - the facility does not have any door hangers that say 'please do not disturb' or 'you are welcome to come in' and so on. They have this well organized in various accommodations and hotels, but not in this accommodation. After spending the second night in this guesthouse, we took a light nap somewhere between 10:00 and 13:00. We heard a knock on the door, but we were half asleep, so we did not respond to the knock. The next moment, the door to the room opened, my partner woke up and asked the maid to leave and that we didn't need any towel changes. The lady apologized and left. This honestly shocked and unpleasantly surprised us, because we actually liked the accommodation quite a bit, but this was a big turn-off. No one has the right to enter a guest's private space without their consent for the duration of their stay. Nothing like this has ever happened to us before and we were shocked.

Slow Down and Enjoy the View

The Owner is a very helpful, kind and enthusiastic person. We had balcony with a beautiful view. Even if it's not the newsest place in Bohinj, it is VERY clean, has its spirit, the huge bed is very comfy and allows to truly relax after walking around the Bohinj Lake and Triglav National Park - which are very close to this location. Our dog felt very comfortable in this place as well.

We could hear our neighbours talking and knocking the door, but it was a tiny inconvenience.

We stayed here 20 years earlier under the same owners. The landlady, although very busy, was always attentive to everyone and never kept anyone waiting for any reason. Car parking was limited but she made sure that spaces were reserved as needed so parking was no problem. A very plentiful breakfast.

Jako dobar odmor nakon napornog planinarenja i razgledavanja okolice.

Lokacija je odlična, odmah uz Bohinjsko jezero, pa su svi sadržaji koje sam htio posjetiti bili vrlo blizu, samo kratka vožnja automobilom.

Predivno iskustvo, za vratiti se....

Jako uslužno i toplo osoblje. Svako jutro su doručci bili obilni uz veliki izbor novih domaćih namjernica s obližnih OPG-ova. Soba udobna i prostrana, topla i čista s balkonom i predivnim pogledom na okolna brda. Mogućnost toplog obroka tjekom dana. Mirno i ugodno, bez neke prevelike galame okolo. Blizina jezera za prošetati. i naravno, mogućnost da je ljubimac s nama u sobi.

Malo neuglednija tuš kabina s najlon zavjesama koje su prekratke, pa se ipak sve pošprica van. I za starije osobe, dosta strmih stepenica za popesti se do sobe.

Nádherná lokalita se spoustou aktivit a nádherný penzion se skvělým jídlem a milou paní domácí.

Výborné snídaně a večeře z lokálních potravin. Velmi milá a ve všem ochotná paní domácí. Ubytování , čistota, vstříctcnost na vysoké úrovni. Úžasné okolní prostředí, jezero ,hory, vodopády... Za psa dokonce nechtěla žádný poplatek.

Pro mě dost tvrdé polštáře, ale spát se dalo. Jinak tomuto penzionu a lokalitě nemohu nic vytknout.

Locatie was erg goed, dichtbij supermarkt en het meer. Burger restaurant onder het hotel is super goed!! Kamer is ruim en had een balkon.

Was beetje oubollige (heeft ook weer wel wat) Maar was niet super schoon. Op eerste gezicht wel maar bijvoorbeeld de voegen bij de douche zat schimmel laag. Wij hebben het overigens wel prima gehad. Tip boek bij hotel zelf scheelt veel geld (kwamen wij achter)

Sehr süße und urige Unterkunft. Die Inhaberin spricht mehrere Sprachen und ist sehr auf Zack. Das dazugehörige Restaurant ist sehr gut. Die Lage ist perfekt, da man direkt am See ist und trotzdem nicht im Getümmel. Wir würden wieder kommen :)
