Weekend stay.

We really liked the accommodation at the hotel. The food was varied, diverse, and delicious. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the pool was clean and well-maintained, and the room was spacious and tidy.

What bothered us was that the room had connecting doors to the neighboring room, which was quite disturbing because we could hear everything from next door, especially in the evening when the man fell asleep and snored loudly.

View of the lake was absolutely amazing,

Hotel was perfectly placed the view of the lake and castle was beautiful. Staff were very helpful and polite. Food was ok but plenty of places to go and eat if you wanted to. The bed was very hard for my liking, but the room was clean and nice. Would recommend to stay.

Bled is a stunningly beautiful location.

Location, only 5 minutes walk from Lake Bled. Views of the lake & Bled Castle from the balcony outside our bedroom, were stunning. Lovely comfortable room. Bed was large & comfortable. Buffet breakfast was varied & good quality.

Lovely

The hotel is in a great location, minutes away from Lake Bled. We had a room with a view of the castle which was lovely. The staff were very helpful, helped us with our air-conditioning and gave us a discount code for attractions. The swimming pool is lovely with a really nice view of the lake and castle. The breakfast spread is a good variety. There is a supermarket and loads of restaurants within a few minutes walking distance. We had a lovely time in this hotel.

Very nice stay in a lovely part of a lovely country

Hotel Kompas was ideal for our short stay in Bled, the staff were friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable and quiet, the breakfast was nice and with plenty of options, and the hotel location couldn't be better - right in the heart of the town and only a couple of minutes from the lake. Parking was included in the rate, which was a bonus. An additional note of appreciation to the staff who helped me after realised I had left some belongings in my room at the Kompas, only after arriving at our next destination (2 hours away in Portoroz). The staff found my belongings, packaged them up and gave me a good recommendation to have them shipped to my next location - so a big thanks to the housekeeping and reception staff for that.

Central location and clean rooms!

The room was clean and sofa beds worked for my 2 young kids. We were greeted by a very friendly receptionist. The kids loved the pool. The breakfast buffet was enough to satisfy our needs -- a variety of hot and cold foods. Parking was free.

The fitness area and locker room had an unpleasant smell.

Was a bit like Fawlty Towers. The younger staff were good and the older staff were generally rude and grumpy.

Good location, pool and sun loungers. Building in keeping with the area.

Check in was not very good and unhelpful. Cleaning was haphazard some days you had no towels and some days six towels. Tea and coffee not refilled and took two days for them to refill the soap despite us asking in Slovenian. Air conditioning not good and very limited storage - no drawers or shelves. Cleaners hoovering outside the room at 7:00 in the morning and barman was very rude, made repeated mistakes with orders and bills and was so poor we would not drink in the hotel and other customers we spoke to were the same.

We had a pleasant stay at the hotel. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of options. The coffee was especially delicious. The wellness area is a nice addition to the hotel—it's not very large, but perfect for relaxing after a long day of walking and exploring. Overall, everything else was great!

The bathroom had a bit of a retro vibe, which we found less appealing. We didn’t like the shared blanket—there was one large king-size blanket instead of two single ones.

Good enough.

The bed was really comfortable. Hotel quality. The room was great and breakfast was a good standard. Hotel check in staff was helpful and polite. Parking was easy and included. For the price I would stay there again mainly because of the location and the parking and the gym.

Dog fee was high at 25 euro per dog per night. Balcony was too small to use. Room was very warm. Couldn’t turn down the heat. We had to sleep with balcony door open and there was traffic passing by in the night. The fitness center is old but great for a hotel gym. The trouble is it is not just for hotel guests. The public also seems to use it, including young children. There is a sign saying no one under 15, but there were 10 year olds in there playing around with the machines. There was a staff on duty who didn’t seem to care.

Just a pity that there was not a real restaurant in the hotel (only snacks) - and so few restaurants in the neighbourhood.

Fine location, would pass on everything else

Property was near the lake and center of town, easy to walk to things.

The staff, all save one, were quite rude. The front desk person in particular. Things like not being pleasant when checking in, stepping out in front of me when I was walking to the exit, small micro aggressions throughout the stay. Room was small and somewhat dated, I wouldn’t care about that but for the price and to be a 4 star hotel it stood out. Fitness center was limited, they didn’t have yoga mats, machines all looked old, no air flow. Breakfast spread was rather extensive, which is nice but nothing tasted great compared to other hotel breakfasts I’ve had through Slovenia - the pastries were overly sweet, the vegetables and eggs too oily and bland. Honestly probably would have been fine with all of it if the front desk staff weren’t rude and unpleasant. Also, not the hotel staff, but there was a guest wearing a “expletive the Jew$” tshirt walking through the lobby and around the hotel two days in a row, which as someone who’s half Jewish made me disgusted and feel uncomfortable and the property didn’t seem to find an issue with it if he was wearing it around multiple days. So apparently it’s a place that allows for antisemitism too.

Personnel is service minded and nice. Entertainment program in the evening. Beds were comfortable. Location is great.

Extremely noisy, no sound isolation whatsoever. It was impossible to have a proper sleep. You even hear people from the lobby. Very small shower cabin. Ok breakfast but below expectations.

Never again

Good location not far from the lake. The room was spacious.

The food was inedible. I was shocked that a 4 star hotel could only offer a luke-warm sub standard buffet, when all of the photos on their website and on booking.com were of amazing plates of food! We booked half board, but could not eat in the hotel and were forced to find restaurants each night for a week. Breakfast wasn’t much better as items were not replenished and hot food was Luke warm at best. The coffee machine leaked and was insufficient for such a large hotel. The outside areas were tired and in desperate need of updating, despite the website saying it was renovated in 2023. The room itself was spacious and it did have air conditioning although it wasn’t very efficient. However, the bathroom was very old with cracked tiles, a dirty shower door and a very old and noisy toilet. They desperately need a gardener to tend to the pool area. Dead flies were left around the pool for days with nobody removing them, there were weeds growing and the whole place just didn’t look cared for. Sun beds were uncomfortable with no cushions which is different to the images on their website. In fact the hotel itself didn’t look anything like the images we saw. It was very misleading and deceptive.

A bit tired (even though it says it was renovated in 2023 - the bathroom certainly wasn’t). Not the hotels fault, but the lake views were marred by other ugly hotels in the way.

Clean and cozy hotel perfect for a family vacation

The hotel is clean and cozy. The rooms are also clean and comfortable. We are a family of four and we wanted adjacent rooms and they granted our reguest, what's more they upgraded us for the same price. I think it's a really nice gesture on their part. The kids loved the pool which is open the entire day. The breakfast was abundant and tasty. The location of the hotel is perfect, two minutes from the lake. Shops, restaurants, coffee shops... are all in the vicinity. I highly recommend it! :-)

Poor air conditioning made it unbearable

The hotel is located close to Lake Bled and has very good views. The shops and restaurants are close. It is not too old and has a nice pool. Parking was good. Staff tried to be helpful but were not able to address major issues. A reasonable breakfast was available.

The rooms are small - not much room to open your luggage around the bed, the shower is small and the balcony had room for only one chair. However, the biggest issue was that the air conditioning was very poor. Upon arrival we were told that due to hot weather the hotel's air conditioning was struggling, but we found the hallways and restaurant (which as empty and dinner time) to be much cooler than our room. The in room air conditioning (cooling) is very underpowered (couldn't move a blade of grass of it) and then it failed completely and could not be turned back on. Hotel Staff tried to fix the problem and finally their only solution was to put a fan in our room which did not make much difference at all. there was no offer to move us to another room. On a hot night it was almost impossible to sleep. We will not go back to this place

Parking place not being guaranteed is the big disadvantage. There are quite a lot of parking place in front of the hotel accessible to hotel guest, but still the capacity is lower than number of rooms, so first come first served. Fortunately friendly reception staff does the best to help finding a spot.

Hot nights and insomnia in Bled

Excellent location

A/C in all the hotel rooms didn’t work and was not repaired despite the issue had been known by the hotel management since weeks.. Room was so hot it was unbearable during night..

Over rated

The place was really nice. Hotel so and so the balcony view was nice.

Ac was not working in room 601. We had leave to the balcony door open while inside. The weather was sometimes hot and sometimes not so warm with rain and thunderstorms. But inside the room it was continuously hot. We told them from day one about the problem and came twice to check the ac. Just they say leave the door closed. After 10 hours with the door closed the room was still an oven. Not well served for the amount of money paid for 4 nights. Ultimately I asked for a discount and came back with a peanut of 80 euros cash back. Still, considering the service it is highly over rated. To be fair breakfast and dinner were decent. On the other hand Pool is very small. Room was clean, coffee and tea were not restocked on 3 days. Safe was not working and they changed it. Considering that it was marketed as refurbished this year I still believe that they need to work harder with the clients. Receptionists were not sincere with us about the issue. They were continuously trying to go in circles, one of them saying that they don't know about the issue and then admitting that they had problems with the hotel ac. Others said that they know but cannot fix it. Another receptionist said that they found no one to fix it. Wow - bled pinocchio. As me and my wife are not people who like to confront others we still made the best out of our vacation. Will return to bled in another accomodation.

Not all lake view rooms are as quoted. A large number have side only views which is not reflected in any promotional literature. Air conditioning did not work during our 5 night stay. Finally, they attempted to charge us twice for our stay. It is a long way from being a 4 star hotel.
