Vila Ana Generoes Bled

We loved the traditional style of the property, lovely old wooden balconies, and large sized rooms. The owners were so nice and we definitely want to go back to stay again.

It’s hard getting the cases up three flights of stairs, but it’s an old property that doesn’t have a lift so you just have to accept that.

Didn’t stay long enough

The hosts were very friendly, accommodating, and eager to provide insights & suggestions for local exploration. The location is central and there’s a wonderful bakery that opens at 6am located across the street for an easy breakfast & cappuccino. This historic home and grounds are exquisitely maintained with so much beauty and character. Our rooms were on the third floor and very spacious with a kitchenette, kitchen table for four, daybed, and bathroom with laundry, as well as an extended balcony and enclosed seating area with views of the castle and the tallest mountain in Slovenia. The bedroom is large with a king-sized bed, sitting area, small private balcony, and closet space. It has an old-world ambience and is luxuriously decorated. We loved the space to relax and the water pressure in the shower. The grounds also have multiple locations to sit and enjoy the many flowers, bushes, and mature trees. It was great to have onsite parking, as well.

The AC is in the kitchenette side instead of the bedroom – so while the kitchen was nice & cool, the sleeping quarters were less comfortable. To be fair, we were there during the heat wave of June 2026. The bed, while large, wasn't comfortable for my elder back, but the daybed served as a great backup. These are not deal breakers but simply things to be aware of. We loved this place.

It was a privilege and an honor to stay in this beautiful art nouveau historic villa. A huge shout-out to Barbara and Toni for their hard work keeping the place maintained and clean. We had everything we needed and more, the owners even welcomed our friends and their dog, and treated us to some delicious cake. The air conditioning was a lifesaver on the hotter afternoons. Our toddler loved playing on the veranda, and the garden was wonderful too, I spent many relaxing moments reading under the trees while she napped. It was a peaceful stay, just a 10-minute walk from the lake but pleasantly away from the touristy hustle and noise of downtown Bled. We can’t recommend this place highly enough! Pro tip for anyone with limited mobility: some hotels around Bled have thermal pools, we visited one with a water slide for kids, which was a great low-effort way to enjoy the water. Also worth knowing: Tinček is a free electric minibus run by the municipality for people with reduced mobility, door-to-beach-and-back is extremely helpful when you're nursing an injury.
