I stay here a few times a year to visit family , close to them and the beach
We originally booked Sunday 15th - Wednesday 18th , we paid £180 for 3 nights , decided to book an extra night which was Saturday, (Valentine’s Day) you charged £179 for 1 extra night total cost £359 for 4 nights, we thought this was ok considering use of the pool and steam room etc, however when we booked in we were informed these would be out of use until monday, 16th this information would have made us reconsider booking valentines night and avoided paying £179 if we knew these were out of order, the pool etc came into effect late Monday hence wasnt used, the other facilities available were either very busy or not what we wanted from our stay , to be honest it was not the best visits we have had in 6 year of visiting

Always stay here on NYE.
Although I realise it isn’t an easy job, the big window, the rooms feature, was so dirty, it couldn’t have been cleaned for years.

slept well
We couldn't book in until 3pm, we paid extra for a sea view room. It was dark when we arrived and had to leave the next day by 10 am. Breakfast was 7 am til 9am. We woke at 7 am and it was still dark outside. We had breakfast at 8.30am and left the hotel at 09.50 am, therefore we could only see the sea for 90 mins throughout our stay (despite being charged extra for this)
The room was cold on arrival and therefore had to use the heater in the room. We used the swimming pool but had to use the towel from our room ( because towels were not provided at the pool as had been the case on previous stays) which was then too wet to use for the shower that night and following morning. The carpets throughout the hotel looked threadbare in places and looked like they needed a good clean. We have stayed at this hotel numerous times over the last 30 years when it was owned by different companies and therefore much of the decor has been the same for a number of years. We didn't enjoy the breakfast either, the coffee was cold and the sausages had a strange taste to the point that we thought they could be off. We were told that we cold not use the pool after booking out unless we purchased a ticket and that our car needed to moved from the car park on booking out.
The leisure centre looked scruffy eg tatty looking rattan furniture and the tiles around the pool edge were black in areas.
The restaurant area looked clean and newly decorated but unfortunately the bar area was not open after breakfast for us to purchase a fresh coffee before we left the hotel.

The room was spacious, ample space to put clothes and luggage away, Toiletries were provided alongside tea and coffee supplies, a hairdryer, ironing board and safe. I had both a shower and a bath, and the pressure for the shower was great once I'd worked it out, always had access to hot water. The staff were lovely throughout, paticularly the gentleman on reception who always greeted me with a smile on his face, topped up my coffee supplies & made me feel welcome. It was my first time staying here but I would definitely come back based on this experience. It is definitely worth the money for the location, a few short steps and you have lush views of Seaburn and Roker at your feet.
No cleaning products in the room, would have been beneficial to have had some bleach - there were hairs in the bath plug hole which put me off using it.

I was disappointed that the restaurant was closed when I arrived needing an evening meal.

We had a lovely overnight stay. Our room was a family sea view room for 4 .. it was large with a sofa area and 2 tvs. Fab room!! Bar and food areas were spot on and staff pleasant. We paid for breakfast buffet which was also good value. Clean cooked breakfast. oh the pool area was small but cosey. The children had a nice swim after check in.

Clean & comfortable & great location.
Needed extra pillow on beds as we only had 1 each. Also was asked for photo ID at check-in which I didn’t have, never been asked before at any other hotel & I don’t carry photo ID so could have caused an issue.

We only booked this hotel for the pool and spa facilities but when we checked out at 10 o’clock in the morning we were told that we couldn’t use them unless we paid £14.95 per person
There was no mention of this when we booked

The location and the staff
The room was cold, and the bathroom worse, the so called heating didn’t seem to work and just blew cold air. The bed was smelly especially the pillows that smelled of sweat. I got in late so second night I found heaters in the closet which gave off a burning smell so I had to turn them off as I was worried about them catching fire. I was cold and the stay was not good

Nice welcome. Room spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was simple but tasty. Location on the promenade, great for walking.
We were in the furthest part of the building. The hotel has a number of dead ends in corridors. It took us a long time to find our room. Though there were lifts at each flight of stairs. The lift nearest our room gies down to the carpark, but once out, doesn’t go back up. Understand the security aspect, but could there have been a release using a room card?

Location, parking is very good and secure.
We asked for an accessible room when we booked the room. No such thing we were put up on the 1st floor with normal bathroom facilities. (Need to get some tips from Premier Inn)
Getting in and out the hotel on foot and wheel chair. There was scaffolding at the front for the first couple of days which did not help. Only way out we could find was through the bar, but no ramp there just 2 and 3 steps.
Unfortunately we had to cut our 4 night stay short. They were quick to organise a refund for days not used by the next day. Very impressed with that.

My son wanted to swim we were not made aware at checkin that he couldn't swim after 7 so I was disappointed in that and he had school the next day so could not use the pool area a free pool voucher would have been nice for us to use another time

lovely spacious room the ladies on reception at my time of check in was super helpful .
i have had a bad experience with the accounts side of this hotel. i was sent numerous online check in requests when it was booked to pay at property with the option to cancel up to the day before. (there was a storm due and was unsure of if it was ok to travel) i proceeded to check in online the morning of my stay due to messages saying its becoming to late to check in. This system crashed making the payment pending from my account 4 times holding over 400 pounds. The money that wasn’t to be paid was released back to my account the payment that should have been taken was cleared and i thought all was good . How ever the hotel are still calling to say the payment is due and it’s near on impossible to speak to accounts to send over bank statements as proof. which may i add is an inconvenience as it is. terrible booking system but ladies on reception was great
