Rooms and staff very good only thing is say is I told them it was for my partners 50 th birthday so thought we'd get a decent view as everyone else who stayed with us got sea views where we got a back yard but the breakfast next morning was one the best very nice and tasty

We chose this hotel because of its location and memories. We had our wedding reception here 53 yrs ago.
The hotel was warm and welcoming. Every member of staff we had contact with was friendly and professional.
The room was clean and comfortable. The beds were comfortable and the pillows the most comfortable I have ever had in a hotel in the UK or abroad!
On arrival we were taken by surprise by the amount of stairs and fire doors we had to navigate to get to our rooms. Luckily we are both active and have good mobility.
I feel that the stairs should be noted at the time of booking. Had I turned up with my sister instead of my husband we wouldn’t have been able to stay.
Also the bathroom radiator was cold with no way of turning it on. This meant we had towels draped over furniture in the bedroom to dry.

Staff were friendly and very helpful.
Lovely area for breakfast.
Room wasn’t a nice as I expected and felt a little dark and depressing.

Room was tiny. Booked a standard room but this was more like a cupboard. No view , looked onto a fire escape. We were in room 123.
