I wouldn’t stay again but it was a useful place to stop for the night.

The shower was powerful enough. That’s the best thing about the hotel.

The room was freezing cold and incredibly dark. There was a “full toilet” on arrival. It should have been flushed. There was nobody at the property when I arrived and instructions were poor. I didn’t even see a hotel sign. The breakfast was awful. Stale old bread, eggs that I could boil myself and stinking old cheese. Fruit was old and the coffee was not hot. The bed itself was comfortable but due to the room being so cold, I slept really badly. On the plus side, there was a car charging device

Lovely location and good value for money

Lovely location, historical building, fresh breakfast, free parking. Room facilities were basic but the coffee machine was appreciated and the fan in room was essential!

More like individual apartments than a hotel as staff not around. Wasn’t a problem as we didn’t have any concerns but it would have been nice to have been able to sit out on the terrace for a drink after walking back from Lille old town. No shower gel in dispensor

The smells at entrance. Pillowcases more old than sheets poor pillows only one. Power tripped out for 2 hours due to another clients kettle provided in room. Breakfast very sorry stale bread and uncovered so flies on meat/ old cheese.

DELUXE room? Looked like a 70’s student locker room. Pile of bricks as a bed side table, stained and dirty curtains, plug hanging off wall, 2 flat pillows, flat towels, 1 robe ? DELUXE hospitality tray - 2 coffee pods, 1 sugar sachet, 2 green and menthol tea bags. 2 bottles of water with the seals broken. Bathroom ok but toilet dirty. Breakfast very poor and not set up at time stated. 4 small slices of stale bread for 2 people, no pastries, dry cheese. Have given 1 mark for having an en-suite bathroom and 1 because the bed was clean and comfortable apart from the pillows No staff on arrival or departure to complain to. States in red on your invoice no refunds given. It’s definitely a take your money and stuff you! Ps. Whole place smells of fish

Nice but needs some refinement.

The location was lovely and the bedroom was clean and cosy. Nicely decorated. Mattress was really comfortable and our room was nice and quiet, although you could hear people when they were walking on the creaky stairs outside. That was fine though as it’s a beautiful old house with lots of character. The cleaning lady was super lovely and very helpful.

It felt a little awkward arriving to the hotel as the staff from the restaurant were at “reception“ but were not really there to help you check in. Someone from the hotel needed to be called. It all felt very impersonal, even during check out. Our biggest disappointment was the breakfast. Very limited, despite what appears in images from others in previous posts. This was the same on both mornings we were there. We also didn’t appreciate everything being set up for the restaurant (which is where you have breakfast) during breakfast, as we felt like we were in the way.

Breakfast was good as well as location on the border of a river not to far from city center .Beautiful old mansion .

Maintenance of the house was poor as well as bedroom decoration . Furnitures almost not existing . Diner much too expensive with regard to quality : does not deserve for a gastronomie quote . Very special owner .

perfectly placed, two bridges and you are directly in the park. the owner, Benoit, is super friendly and loved all over our dog. the breakfast was delicious and all the staff were nice. It has beautiful decor!

Superb

The location of the classic mansion on the l'île des bois blancs is superb, quiet and only half an hour walking the city centre through the park facing the house. Staff was friendly and parking was possible in front of the entrance. Breakfast next morning was splendid! We already had dinner reservations elsewhere, but the menu of the restaurant belonging to the property looked Great. We will certainly return and next time we will dine in (reservation needed).

chilled out

The people were lovely and chatty. The location was tranquil and the apartment was stylish and I had a beautiful view of the canal from my balcony. The bed was comfy and I had a really comfy dressing gown to mooch around in. The breakfast was lovely to anyone with a sweet tooth would be spoilt for choice!

All the steps, I had a heavy suitcase! There wasn’t a bottle opener in the room so felt like an alcoholic when I asked the bar staff to open my bottle!

Boutique Hotel, Great Breakfast, Lovely walk into Lille

The hotel is located next to a beautiful large park. This offers a really pleasant, safe easy walk into central Lille. Took us 30 minutes and was perfect to exercise our dog after a long journey. The hotel offers a lot of nice touches in the room - coffee machine, dressing gowns, travel toothbrushes. The breakfast was absolutely superb. There is limited private parking on site. We got a space in their car park but there was ample free parking nearby.

We were happy and would definitely stay again. The stairs and room lighting were a little dark, but ambient.

the worst experience in my life

this hotel canceled my booking twice after I paid. 1. first time I booked two weeks before, they cancelled just one day before I go without explaining the reason. so the book.com have to find another hotel for me at the last minute which is 3 times more expensive cause they have football match in the city. I called the hotel they told me it’s full, but why you still have room available on your site? and why not notify me right after? only one day before? 2. second time I arrived hotel around night and 11:30, they said they didn’t find my booking. and I showed them the payment confirmation info. they told me all room is complete. how is that possible? in the midnight I walked 6 km to pay double price to find another hotel to live! simply I’m asking to give me the price difference back to my account. after 10years client of booking. and they said the hotel check in time is before 22:00. really? no email no cellphone no cancellations, this is the reason acceptable?

Overall, the property was very beautiful and stood out. The inside of the hotel is very aesthetically pleasing, and the rooms themselves are very similar to the pictures. The staff were very helpful and accommodating, and our stay was very peaceful and comfortable.

Unfortunately some of the shelves were a bit unclean ( cup boards etc) , however it didn’t impact our stay whatsoever.

Pleasant Stay, but bit disorganised

Good breakfast. Pretty, historic, intimate building in nice location in quiet area next to river but not far from town. Free parking was a plus and rooms were nicely decorated. Dinner at the restaurant is also exceptional.

Needed Aircon as was very warm at night. Little bit disorganised, as someone else was given a key to our room and attempted to open the door whilst we were in the there. Think we were given the wrong room as we booked a room with a bath but it only had a shower. Staff not always present on the front desk as they also work in the restaurant.

bed was comfortable. great space and apartment and location was excellent as didn’t want to be in the heart of the city. coffee was outstanding.

the Wi-Fi was terrible. ended up paying add 5 euros for 1 days access for my son. restaurant downstairs was loudish late at night. Room was a little tired and could do with some tlc. Toilet was a little dark.
