Will probably choose this property again on our next trip to Lille.

Quiet and charming - modern style in an older building next to Vieux Lille a short walk to most sights.

Two flights of stairs (no elevator) and had to order breakfast in advance, probably typical for a smaller property.

Beautiful quiet location close to city center

Great, quiet location but still walkable to city center. Very easy parking nearby. Beautiful rooms and super easy check in. The surrounding neighborhood was great as well. Check in process was super easy and air conditioning was helpful. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you!!

The Perfect Start to a vacation and equally the Conclusion homeward bound

Lille is the capital of the Hauts-de-France region in northern France, close to the Belgian border and is a bustling university city steeped in culture which once was an important merchant centre known as 'the Capital des Flandres' The historic centre, Vieux Lille, is characterized by 17th-century brick town houses, cobbled pedestrian streets and the large central square, Grand Place. The Palais des Beaux-Arts Museum is home to the 2nd largest art collection in France displays work from Goya, Rembrandt, and Rubens. Encapsulating the Flemish influence central Lille is the Place du General de Gaulle (the Grand Place) the Art Deco home of La Voix du Nord (the leading regional newspaper) crowned with a gilded sculpture of the Three Graces. Denis is the perfect host polite and most helpful ensuring you have an enjoyable stay. On our return visit homeward bound noted that refurbishing/redecorating has begun we suggested beginning of June. Recommended is dinner and drinks on Achimedes Barge Bar/Restaurant - classical bistro cuisine in an urban chic setting aboard a moored Barge with an open deck - on a hot summers evening what a fun experience!

Not up to expectations

Description stated noise proofing and this was definitely not the case. Although the location is quite the building itself has no sound proofing and so you can hear the sounds made by all guest rooms around you. Bathroom was also in the bedroom and although this is increasingly common it is unusual to have a shower tray without a rim so that it is almost impossible to keep the water inside. We used a lot of towels trying to keep the floor dry

Things seemed a little stingy for the price paid. Eg the coffee maker is a good touch but just one decaf and one normal coffee sachet in a double room is a bit tight

Quiet luxury in the heart of Lille.

The location out of the touristy part and near the large park and citadel was perfect. Easy few blocks to walk back into the city center. We had a very large comfortable room. Easy check in. We loved having the access codes on main door and rooms so you did not have to worry about a key. Denis was a wonderful host. We highly recommend!

This hotel is a gem!

Simply stunning. The hotel is bright, spacious, full of sun, super clean and is also an art gallery at the same time. Dennis was amazingly helpful. We could use the microwave in the breakfast area, he gave us lots of water for free, coffee and tea, and a little fridge were also available in the room. Given that we travelled with a child, these facilities were super helpful. We would stay there again and can only highly recommend it!

Nothing. Just bear in mind that there is no elevator. But the staff accommodated our request and we stayed at the ground floor. There are still a few steps to get over, but my mum with a broken shoulder could manage.

A lovely hotel with bright, large, airy rooms, good location, would definitely go there again

The room was spacious, airy, and well-laid out. The bathroom was was nicely designed. The bed was comfortable. The building was centrally located and in very good condition. There was no street noise. There was a breakfast bar in the room with a tea/coffee maker and a small fridge.

L'Esplanande Lille is an elegant and comfortable place, with extremely gracious staff!

The property is in a fantastic location! Our room was elegant and had great air conditioning! The breakfast was a bit pricey, but the ingredients were very fresh and high quality, and the staff were extremely friendly and gracious. The bathroom was also elegantly appointed, with a great shower, plenty of towels, and other nice touches. The hosts offered us bottled water any time we encountered them, which is very nice, considering most places charge you for water after your first bottle. An extra bonus is that the tap water in Lille was great! We didn't really need the bottled water since the tap water was so good!

The breakfast was a set price at 15 euros, regardless of whether you had just a croissant and coffee, or the entire selection offered, which had Serano ham and 3 types of cheeses. I wish the property had a lift/elevator, though the booking was clear that there wasn't one. There is one initial set of steps when you enter the property, that doesn't have handrails on either side, which made carrying luggage up/down the steps feel very risky. However, if there was a staff member available, they always offered to carry the luggage.

I wouldn’t go as far as saying I didn’t like it, but it was a bit irritating that the air conditioning seem to buzz every 20 or 30 minutes, making the same sound as a nexpresso machine. ( because aside from that noise it was a very quiet air conditioner) Also because it was a first floor room, you heard the people come upstairs at night. And slightly far from the train station.

very nice quirky property

our room was very hot and there was no controller for the air conditioning. We had to open the window and there was a lot of road noise as the properly is situated on a busy road.
