This hotel is run by family. And you can really feel that. It feels like coming home. Everytime staff also exceeded expectations. Breakfast was amazing too; not too big but included everyting what you needed. Fresh and local and made with heart and smile.

More “charity shop chic” than “boutique,” the hotel places a lot on its location to justify four stars

The location was excellent and the staff were always friendly and helpful. The bathroom was exceptionally clean and a good size. The bed was very comfortable and the cleaner did an excellent job

The smell of the drains was overwhelming at times. The bedroom was supposed to be deluxe but it was difficult to get around the bed without hitting the tv. The breakfast room was also very small, so it was difficult not to be cheek by jowl with other guests and the selection, while not limited, was not quickly replaced. If a cooked breakfast was required an omelette seemed to be the only option. Coffee had to be asked for. The size of the bedroom and the breakfast were not really what we have been used to when paying for a four star hotel.

Beautiful hotel with best location

Excellent breakfast made by friendly Anna. She gave us great local travel advice and packed us a lunchbox for very early flight. The location can’t be beat and the hotel was VERY quiet at night. We will stay here again!

Feantastic.

The hotel is run like a family business and treat you as if you are family too. The staff is wonderful and full of valuable suggestions that made our short stay much more enjoyable. The property is very well located, right next to the ancient palace.

The service was excellent. The room clean, fresh and it fullfilled our needs 100%. The location is perfect also when arriving from ferry and you can enjoy silence during the night.

Typical European size hotel so don’t expect a large room but you are getting a great location with attentive staff.

The staff was very attentive. The location was great because it was close to everything but outside the crazy tourist noise of Old Town.

Superb place, amazing staff, fantastic location

Everything. Such lovely, friendly staff, who went out of their way to help and to chat. Lovely building in a very quiet street, 5 min walk from everything with lovely nearby places to eat. The breakfast was amazing.

Fantastic, central location, with easy access to the ferries

Beautiful hotel with a terrific breakfast and lovely staff. Very centrally located, so we could get to our ferry easily the next day and the reception team were relaxed about our leaving our suitcase while we mooched around the Old Town which is a UNESCO site with wondrous history.

The AC didn't work which wasn't the fault of the hotel: it's a heritage building and they're limited to how many units per room they can have and our neighbour obviously hadn't believed the receptionist's advice to not turn the AC too low so it blew ours as well.

Small hotel in a perfect location with fab breakfast

Location was perfect. Nice big rooms. The breakfast was really great and the staff very nice and helpful. It was no problem to leave bags and explore.

Nice location, friendly staff. I appreciated that they could accommodate our family of 4 comfortably.

There was a bad smell in the room, like damp. Also, when they made up the room, they didn’t clean the bathroom!

Very very hot room!!

The location was superb and the hotel was beautiful with spacious rooms. The staff were unbelievably helpful and friendly and the breakfast was excellent.

The air con in the room we were in wasn’t working. It was 30 degrees outside. The young lady on reception tried her very best but there was nothing she could do. We were informed the day after that the room we were in has that happen often. I really hate leaving this because I can’t fault anything else. The heat in the room was absolutely unbearable and as the hotel is quite expensive, I was a little disappointed.

Fantastic place, would love to return if we make it back to Split

The staff were very helpful and friendly especially the lovely lady who served breakfast. The breakfast was varied with warm fresh bread and eggs cooked to order. The location was perfect - although being close to the centre, there were no noise issues.

The staff were wonderful! Everyone was so welcoming and helpful. The rooms were nice and our 2 bedroom family room was perfect for the 4 of us. Good location with lots of great restaurants nearby and easy access to all the historical sites.

The AC was not working properly in our room so it was quite warm at night.

There is no question that the next time we come to Split we will choose to stay at the Camera Hotel.

The staff was extremely helpful and kind to us. They wanted to do everything for us. They carried our bags up to our room for us. They took good care of us and made sure we were comfortable.

Excellent location. Family room was brilliant for our family of 4, 2 separate bedrooms with kids in their own single beds. Staff were really friendly and helpful-very happy to make recommendations for restaurants and places to visit. Our breakfasts were a particular highlight!

Gem of a hotel!

The location is of the hotel is excellent and we really liked the top room because it has two sleeping areas so perfect for our family. The breakfast looked amazing but because we had to leave before it started they made four to-go versions which was so nice. What stood out the most was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. They gave us recommendations for the one day that we were in Split and all of them exceeded our expectations. We had an incident with a lost iPhone and they went out of their way to help facilitate the return and it wouldn’t have been possible without them, so huge thank you!

Hidden gem.

Hotel Camera is a hidden gem. Just off the marina in a delightful neighborhood. Even. Michelins restaurant in the square. Quiet, comfortable and completely charming.

Just a wonderful stay!

Had to skip breakfast due to having to catch an early train. At the very last minute, the staff realized that we were going to miss breakfast and they quickly pulled together a breakfast basket for us. It saved the day for us!!

short and functional

location good just outside old town but in quaint neighbourhood. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice and server was very pleasant. Room was very clean. and bed comfortable.

Room was quite small a bit tight to get around one side of bed to get in. Some staff were friendly others were on their phone and barely looked up to greet you as you entered hotel reception. When we breakfasted a group of ladies who were loud took over the dining area which spoilt our experience as breakfast area is quite small we had to listen to their conversation. musty smell in bathroom.
