Dissapointed!

The location was good and the room had ac.

I was really looking forward to my stay, but unfortunately, the room was not clean when I arrived. The bathroom toilet was not sealted, i found a dirty towel left from the last guest. It didn’t feel like the room had been properly cleaned or checked before my check-in. Then we found many ants on the floor ... for the price we paid , we did not even get breakfast included .

Would probably try somewhere more central, or more suburban, if in Turin again.

Reception, lobby, room and bathroom were all of a high to good standard.

The area was not as I expected for a hotel with Royal in its title, neither central or rural, nor was the architecture of the hotel. Kettle in room, but only green tea to use it with. Further from Porta Susa than appeared on Booking.com map.

Hotel was clean and in a good location

Air con was dusty and barely worked, we had a joining room that we didnt ask for and the door was so thin we could hear the other person breathing and snoring which lead to some sleepless nights

No bottled water, no way to make coffee, there was only one tea bag and 3 sugar bags, no teaspoon. There is no soap and shampoo in the bathroom. The bathroom was dirty..

Excellent hotel if offered a low rate

Booking.com offered me a free upgrade to a double superior, so I can't judge based on the regular rooms, but the superior was indeed very spacious, particularly the bathroom. The staff was very friendly, and overall, a very positive experience.

Bed was too hard. Hotel gives a sense that it has seen better days, but the price-to-quality ratio that I was offered was excellent. The neighbourhood is a rather long walk from the centre (about 25-40 minutes depending on your destination), but there are trams running - very rarely in July. I could walk all the way to the city centre along the tram line and not see a single one pass. In fact, while waiting for the tram (I tried it once), a lady told me that the frequency is every 30-45 minutes during the summer time. There is a metro station (Bernini) about 10 minutes of a walk from the hotel - probably a better choice since the metro trains pass every five minutes or so). Of course, this has nothing to do with the hotel, but it is something you might want to keep in mind.

The price

I didn't like the very small twin bed. It seemed a lot smaller than the average twin size. The A/C wasn't adjustable so it was very stuffy making it difficult to sleep.

Poor value for money.

Concierge staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was completely clean.

The room, while a single, was the size of a closet in a submarine. The very strange bed was claustrophobic and arranged so I had to duck to avoid hitting my head. Room was dark and unpleasant. The sheet became untucked as I sat on the bed first thing. Listing said it was closer to main train station and central district than it actually is and was misleading. Kettle was available for tea but there were only two tea bags that were vanilla (yuck) so what was the point.

nothing really. is dated . I have seen the hotel when they build it . for a 4 star is pretty poor standard

when I got in room I found toilet paper in WC and the toilet cover was wet of something 🫣changed room … supposed to clean it they just changed the towels and bed . toilet was left dirty. staff super nice but they should check the cleaning staff that they do their job properly. is basic hygiene really. not a 4 star at all I have been in 3 star better than this shame I was looking forward to the stay

absolutely ridiculous. very poor, wouldn’t even give it a star. awful room, awful bed, awful shower, superior double was a tiny box single room and the bath room was shocking! could not move, uk size 10 had to shower with the door open

Ideal for a one night stay for football as there were a number of transport stops nearby. Although we had to get away early for a train, we were able to access breakfast a little early and the options were good.
