Best Quality Hotel Dock Milano

We picked the hotel primarily for the location (steps from Porta Susa rail station) and luckily found the rooms quite comfortable. They were very clean (no carpets, which to me is a good thing), the beds were simple but comfortable enough, there were sufficient wall outlets to charge phones and laptops and the shower was good sized with good water pressure. The (free) water bottle refill dispensers on each floor were a welcome surprise. Staff was very friendly and capable. We didn't have the breakfast so can't comment. The hotel is not only close to Porta Susa it's also a reasonably close walk to the Quadrilatero neighbourhood, a lively area pubs, piazzas and restaurants.

We stayed for two nights, one on each end of our trip to Gran Paradiso, and I thought our first night cost a little more than it needed to (and about €40 more than the 2nd night and I'm not sure why since I booked them in advance at the same time). It was still worth it, tho, to be so close to the rail station in a clean and comfortable hotel.

Excellent location for the station. Staff very helpful with good recommendations of where to eat. Found a great restaurant with local food. Clean and comfy room. Wished we had longer seemed a nice area.

We had a room facing the road which was really noisy- trams, police cars, ambulances. Double glazing is not adequate.Then woken from 6 am by other guests in the corridor who seemed unaware that some people might be on holiday! Our double bed wasn’t- it was 2 singles pushed together. The bathroom looked like it belonged in a hospital although the shower did at least work ok and everything was clean. Breakfast was poor - no proper fruit juice, just squash from a machine, poor quality hot buffet of just frankfurters, fatty bacon and scrambled eggs. Disinterested staff. Would not stay here again.
