Best apartment in Monterosso

It's a clean, spacious, and cosy apartment right on the beach, with the most beautiful views from the apartment itself and from the rooftop terrace! Marco was a great host and welcomed us as we arrived, and there was a very helpful, personal, and in-depth guide prepared by the owner of the residence on her recommendations for food and activities during the stay. The apartment is only a 3 minute walk from the train station, so it's very easy to get to when you arrive in Monterosso.

Best location. Nice spacious apartment with all the facilities. Lounge, bathroom, kitchen, laundry and balcony with a small ocean view. Rooftop for drinks looking at the ocean. Easy access with luggage from the train station. The owners were very very friendly and polite.

Lots of internal stairs to walk up the apartment in the heat, but we managed ok, and we are in our 50s.

We would come back. This was our favorite town and the apartment was very nice.

Marco was a great host who met us at the station and helped us to the apartment. He went over sights to see on a map, what good restaurants to go to eat at, grocery stores, how to get around and where the hiking trails were. It was a good value apartment with washing machine, dishwasher, dishes, sink, water boiler, coffee maker, extra blankets etc. The location was very convenient for all of our needs.

Not much. The shower is very small. It didn't bother us too much but a rotund person would have some trouble. We found it more amusing than anything. The hot water came right away which matters more to me.

Two things: 1) the location is excellent!! about a five minute walk from the train station. 2) Beppe, the property manager. He went above and beyond from when we walked in to when we were “supposed” to leave. Upon check in, I inquired about extending our stay one more night and he was able to oblige us. Since our room was not quite ready due to staff calling in sick, he offered us a room to rest in and wait. it was very clean and comfortable. After we got into the apartment, which was super clean, we decided to keep original two nights reservation and informed Beppe. Then we headed over to the train station only to find out that there was a train strike!! Poor us, stranded in Monterosso!! However, we had a problem- nowhere to stay. I tried to retrieve the third night but it was too late. No room. So, after explaining our situation to Beppe, he arranged for us to stay at another hotel around the corner! Now, isn’t that so nice?!! I am literally writing this in Monterosso as we enjoy Bruschetta and Sciacchetra, a sweet local wine! We are so grateful to Beppe, who came to our resucue! Mil Grazie, Beppe! 🤗

Three things: 1) Initial physical contact with host. Directions did not tell us where to check in. Wehad to walk through a gate and wait for the office to open at 2:00. A kind local resident helped us; he was a great help! 2) No elevator. Our apartment was on the fourth floor, so we climbed around 60-70 stairs with luggage! whew 😥 This is important for anyone with mobility issues. 3) The shower was very tiny, about 2’ by 2’.

Convenient to the Beach

We were within 50m to the beach area, just above the seaside parking. The AC was necessary because the humidity there in the summer is very bad.

The WiFi didn’t work at first, but that was corrected when we told the host. But the kitchen is incomplete if you’re going to cook. Also, we didn’t know we’d have to climb 3 flights of stairs.
