Villa Silvi piscina sauna e hot tub

Silvi the host was exceptional. Though we barely speak Italian and she English, we manage to communicate using Google Translate😀. She is the sweetest and warmest host and this radiates in her home. The breakfast she prepares is so good, we always feel full and energized to go out and start our day. We also communicated via WhatsApp with her son Daniele and was much helpful as well. Between the two of them we did not feel that we are missing out in communicating what we want and expectations and hopefully vice versa. The view of the lake from the house is so beautiful, serene and calming. The house itself is gorgeous and we felt like it was home during our short stay. Last but not least, we loved Bebe, their humongous sweet dog! We were not able to use the pool and the spa because of the weather but it was there for us to use anytime. Thank you Silvi, Daniele and Bebe for making our stay one of the best in our trip to Italy this years.

Silvi is a gem! She exuded warmth and kindness beyond words, despite her limited English. Such a delightful lady! (To help matters, her son Daniele was around much of the time to translate.) She was quick to offer us a ride to dinner in town (and pick-up) and a lift to the train station the next morning. The property? Simply spectacular—the photos in the listing do not do it justice. The house is perched on a hillside above Varenna with a panoramic view of the lake and distant mountains. It's surrounded by an olive grove, a profusion of rosemary bushes and fragrant jasmine. This may be the most wonderful smelling place you may ever visit! The infinity pool is the perfect place from which to watch the sunset (see photo). Amazing! The bedroom was spotlessly clean and comfortable. And I'd be remiss without mentioning Liebe, the house Bernese Mountain Dog. Free, unlimited cuddles for dog lovers!

If you don't have a car, you'll need Silvi or a taxi to get to town. But if you're wanting a super-quiet, relaxing stay away from the hordes of tourists, the location is a good thing.

This was the most amazing Italian home experience and we felt very lucky to find it and spend a few extremely relaxing days here. Silvi is a wonderful lady who is kind and generous and thinks of everything!! We felt so welcome right from the moment we arrived at the train station in Varenna. She treated us like old friends and we want to come back again soon. The view is spectacular and all the amenities are spotlessly clean. We loved spending time in the garden with Liebe the dog and there are so many lovely places to sit and relax. We didn't want to leave and are sure everyone who stays here will have a beautiful experience. Thank you Nonna Silvi and Daniele. See you next year!!

Everything was perfect.

We chose Villa Silvi for our stay in Varenna for its excelllent reviews, but it widely exceeded our expectations. It was a pity not knowing Italian to thank Silvi for his hospitality and selflessness. It was a pleasure staying with Silvi and Daniele.
