Can't beat the location but beware wifi doesn't work!
Location was perfect, check in with lockbox was very easy, shared kitchen/rooftop were a great bonus, private balcony, beautiful view
Wifi basically didn't work, noisy ceiling fan, no reception to hold luggage, clock tower rings every hour, a bit noisy overall, furniture is a bit run down

Balcony, central location, proximity to the lake, proximity to the train station, proximity to the checkin office, friendly lady helping out with checkin/introducing the appartment capabilities/limitations/etc.
Window/natural light did not propagate into the bedroom (people like me really appreciate seeing natural light in the morning). The appartment had mosquitos inside and there was no remedy against them supplied by the host. For elderly people, you have to be aware of the steep staircases. Some people (not me) might be sensitive to the church bell's sound. Lack of lake view. Synthetic (non-cotton) pillowcases. Lack of self-checkin.

Excellent location.
Fantastic location, plenty of room and a private balcony overlooking Piazza San Giorgio. Not to mention the amazing rooftop terrace that must provide one of the best views of Lake Como in Varenna. Easy walks to the waterfront and not too far from the parking lot at the entrance to town. The Zucchero tribute band in the square feet from our door was a bonus. Not great if you like early nights.
Wrong address on Booking.com. Had to call to find the place and owner had forgotten to email me the entry instructions. Couldn’t find any coffee in the kitchen. Only complaining because Booking asked. 😂

Such good value for money
It was close to everything, loved the balcony, the rooftop terrace, the bed was decently comfortable, the room was clean.
The fan worked but it wasn’t as strong for the level of heat there was in summer, but we opened the balcony door and it was better, the only thing was it attracted bugs to come inside, but thats not such a big deal.
