I am eager to return and this hotel is a mandatory stay we are going to allow more time next voyage.
Hotel is on lake walk out of door just feet to catch ferry. Large room with great view of lake. Amazing breakfast ranges full breakfast to continental breakfast. Cocktail hour in front of building and next door they have a restaurant that has excellent food and price was reasonable make your reservations. Easy to walk along lake and numerous shops and venues to enjoy on the way.

Gorgeous! I would certainly stay here again if I ever come back to Varenna. Worth coming back!
We stayed at a spacious comfortable “Dependance” room, in an annex building to the hotel. Beautiful view to the lake. No need to climb stairs. Very good breakfast. Good restaurant just beside the hotel, where we had a nice dinner. Titi and his son Luigi, from the family who owns the hotel, are very friendly.

excellent location, right next to the pier (wont be too noisy in room if you close all windows) only a few minutes walk to and from train station if without luggages, will take another 5-10mins if you have luggages to walk TO train station as its uphill with some steps delicious breakfast- the staff even packed us breakfast to go for the next day as we checked out early at 7am

Classic hotel, great location
Beautiful lake views from our balcony. Next to ferry stop. Lakeside walk right out the front door. Easy walk to and from the train station. Breakfast was included and very convenient. Checked in by owner who was very nice and eager to help.
Temp control in room didn’t work properly. Ferry stop could be very loud at peak times and smell of diesel fuel with windows open. When windows were closed it was no problem but room got too hot.

A beautiful, historic hotel with an amazing staff.
The hotel is a gem. Ideally located right by the ferry station with views of the lake. The small cafe downstairs is very good- sandwiches, pizza, etc. and drinks, great for enjoying the weather or people- watching! The staff made me feel so welcome. They hugged me when I left! 🥹 it’s family-owned and run, and those are the hardest working people I’ve ever seen. The rooms are a little rustic (period furniture appropriate in a hotel built in the 1890’s) but comfortable and very clean. My room was an attic room so the lift didn’t go all the way to my floor, but I only had to climb one flight. I enjoyed the hotel and I loved the people.
Elevator was slow and small. Bed was a little hard.
