Perfect location near by the old harbor. Spacious, modern and comfortable apartments. Excellent shower. The concierge is super friendly and gave us very good tips about the city. Bed and pillows very comfortable.
Stairs, we were at the last floor - don’t check in with heavy luggages.

The location was great, we could walk everywhere and the shops were close by to purchase breakfast items. We felt safe and the apartment was clean and quiet.
We would have liked a smart TV to watch Netflix on.
6.0 / 10.0
Locations, clean and modern with a comfortable bed. Shower had good pressure and cubicle was a good size.
Kitchen wasn’t equipped for cooking, no pans.
Only one Ironing board for the whole property and was used by staff.
No dining table.
No dressing table
Access was up a hill and up several flights of stairs this wasn’t disclosed on booking site. No lift in the property.
TV didn’t have UK channels and wasn’t internet enabled so example no Netflix
Property was basic.
No views we looked out into a wall.
Wouldn’t return to this property

Great location, very friendly and helpful host, very clean appartment, very comfortable bed, very quiet - in particular during the night. Great places to eat within very short walking distances, supermarket also within short walking distance.
We would definitely come back to Le Couvent! :)
Not the best lamp in the bathroom for putting makeup on. But detail. :)
Important to know:
- Not suitable for people who cannot walk stairs.
- Not recommended for people who are looking for a flat with a ton of sunlight. (The flat has four normal sized windows, but the neighbouring houses are tall and the street is rather narrow.)

The property was amazing! Very unique and stylish. The location was perfect, many restaurants and wine bars in the neighborhood. The apartment was very spacious, clean and with everything you might need. The whole building felt like museum

The staff is very nice and accommodating. Great location.
Nothing. My only hesitation is related to Marseille itself. We decided to reduce our stay and the hotel management was very flexible about it.

Great place to stay near the old city - everything near to the flat. The host was very helpful and I did a washing at the laundry. Comfortable bed, great shower snd air conditioning. Would definitely stay again. We also got a late checkout - which was really helpful.

The building has been wonderfully converted from an old convent into several flats available for holiday rentals. The building has no elevators, which can be quite challenging as one already has to manage accessing the entrance via an uphill walk that includes steps to get to the foyer. Then more steps once you get into the building. But the place has been tastefully modernized. I took over two flats, rooms 3 and 4, and each was spacious and bright and wonderfully transformed. The wifi though was a bit of a let down- I had to do zoom calls in the corridor. Also, no washing machines in each unit. It would be good if they install washing machines for the use of the guests. They did mention that they could arrange for laundry. But I think nothing would beat having these facilities conveniently located in the building itself, if not even in each unit.
Florian, the host, was very accommodating and helpful, and very responsive at all times. His attention truly made up for inconveniences of the wifi and the laundry. And when you are a stranger, in a new city, a kind presence is worth more than top notch facilities.
As mentioned, the wifi service and the absence of any facilities for laundry. Also, while Le Panier is certainly a memorable location, it has a unique, almost gritty, character, that guests should be open-minded about. It isn't conventionally picturesque the way some other towns in Provence are. But that is Marseille for you.

Contemporary refurbishments provided a place of calm and well being.
No door between the bedroom and the toilet/bathroom.

Exceptional apartment in a desirable location. Architecturally stunning. Each apartment is unique. You can check their main website for individual photos. The host was welcoming and provided a wonderful overview of the area's attractions and restaurants with a personalized map.
The apartment's location (Street access and in the building) is not suitable for a person with mobility challenges. This detail was a little lost in the long list of features. For us this was no challenge, but i wanted to alert others.

Sofa bed needs some love - old and not comfy!

I liked how clean and comfortable the studio/apartment was. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was large with a great shower. It was very convenient for strolling down to the Port. Plenty of restaurants nearby. I also loved the silence within the building.
The 58 steps up to the apartment! Because it is an old building there is not a lift. We knew that when booking. That was the only minor negative.

We loved the location. An easy walk to the Old Port, but away from the traffic and all of the visitors. We had adjoining rooms with a comfortable sitting area and kitchen so we could spend time together when back at the hotel.
A little bit of noise in the morning on week days due to the school next door but it was happy noise from children playing..

Great location. Very walkable immediate area. Stayed with a toddler who loves steps. There are a lot of steps! We used this as a home base for exploring the city, going to lots of beaches and making family meals.
Marseilles goes through a lot of phases throughout the day. Some of the artwork in the building might scandalize people who aren't ready for it.

All was good - personal, location, room cleaning... 5 min walk to the seafront, but place is quiet. The room has air conditioning.
Toilet without a door and even a curtain - it's modern but strange design.

The property is beautiful, quirky and spotlessly clean. I loved it. The location was fantastic. Everything there on your doorstep.
I found it a bit pricey. I spent 3 nights in October and it cost around £450 UK sterling or 500 euros for those 3 nights. I could have gotten a nearby hotel room a good bit cheaper. But I can't fault the apartment. It was fantastic.

Le Couvent is on the edge of the Panier district and a few minutes walk from the northern quay and bustle of the Vielle Port. Panier is the oldest part of town and is now very boho chic; artisan shops, super epic graffiti (in a city of already epic graffiti) and numerous small restaurants running disproportionate areas of outdoor tables. Yet our room was blissfully quiet. Breakfast in your room is very easy, with an excellent boulangerie and adjacent patisserie just down the Rue Caisserie. Other breakfast options are also available locally. On arrival, the proprietor provides a list of good local places to eat and advice on finding a decent enough supermarket for the other breakfast basics 6 minutes walk away. A taxi from (mainline train and bus station) Gare Ste Charles will get you there in 5 minutes. Having got to know the city, we got back to GSC at the end of our stay via public transport; the bus on Rue Caisserie and the metro system will get you there for under 2 Euros each.
No much. The rooms are cavernous, tastfully and very comfortably furnished and quiet. (See above.) Our particular room had a broken click-clack waste in the wash basin and a hair dryer that didn't work. But neither were dealbreakers for us.
The building itself is accessed up a steep side street. Once inside, there is no lift. If hauling your case, (or yourself,) up over 50 steps to the top floor, (around 30 to the 1st floor) is not your idea of a holiday; book somewhere else. We could live with this and were rewarded with a lovely stay. Our room overlooked a kindergarten playground. Conceivably that might get a bit noisy at times. But it was half term when we were in town. We never saw a single child.

fabulous location, spacious, clean, helpful staff/management, quiet but central.
only a view of a dark alley out of only one window. We had mosquitoes at night, a net around the bed or a screen on the window would help.

Central. Quiet at night. Clean, comfortable, classy. Lovely conversion.
V steep steps down to bathroom. Possibly a little tricky for elderly/ infirm!

Nice large apartments with amazing location to the port and museums. staff was great and provided recommendations for restaurants and nearby activities. wi-Fi is great.
Was a bit of a wait to get into the building. Check in instructions say to message when you’re there or to call but make sure to ring the doorbell for us someone was inside. We arrived around 1pm and they let us have the room early.

Excellent location. Very spacious room (suite 2), well appointed kitchenette, super comfy bed. Many food/where to go recommendations at check-in.
The opening of shower sliding door is very (very) narrow. The room doesn't have a lot of natural light. Some cleaning details could be improved.
