We travelled from Rome to Orvieto on a day when the Italian rail system was struggling to function after what appeared to be deliberate sabotage. We contacted the hotel to warn of the delay. When we eventually arrived, 3 hours late, there was a taxi awaiting us at the station and a table booked at the pizzeria just around the corner which would be serving until 10 pm. All organised by Adriena at the hotel. The hotel itself shows the same attention to detail: good quality furnishings and linens; a buffet breakfast with fruit, cold cuts and cheeses, as well as the usual pastries. Reception desk staffed throughout the day, to help with any queries or bookings. Fully recommended as the best sort of small, privately run business.
