The room was amazing, and included a kitchen with all the basics. We had a great view of one of the towers out our bedroom window, and had a wonderful night's sleep.

Really lovely location and hardworking, sweet hosts.

The location and the people running it were excellent. They accomodated my early check in time, and carried my luggage up and down the many stairs, as it was quite heavy. There was a fridge in a common area to use, and a common seating area for visiting/eating. My view was great (of the piazza) and it was easy to do things from this location. The hosts also gave me a ride to the train because I had such heavy luggage!

I didn’t like all the stairs, and the repairs going on in the stairwell, one morning I accidentally put my hand on the railing and got a handful of cement! Also the bed was too hard for my comfort. The stairwell issue was temporary and will probably be great when finished.

Ancient Charm, Modern Comfort: A Timeless Overnight in peaceful Orvieto

On our way from the Amalfi Coast to Florence, we chose Orvieto—a medieval town with fewer tourists—as our overnight stop, and this has become a wonderful experience. How special to stay in a thousand-year-old house in the center of a peaceful and beautiful old town! Nestled in Orvieto’s historical center—just a 3-minute walk from the Duomo—this 1200-year-old gem blends ancient charm with modern comfort. With free parking from 22:00 to 8:00 and paid parking available at only €1.60 per hour from 8:00 to 22:00 right under the house at the square, its location is very convenient and practical. The host—a lovely, cheerful lady with a worldly spirit—went out of her way to accommodate our late check-in, and she was very nice to prepare some toasts and jams for us as breakfast. Highly recommend this special place!

Excellent !

Our host Beatrice was amazing and accommodating. The location is great for exploring the town. We much preferred our stay here over staying in Rome. The night life is interesting but not overwhelming and still has. A local feel to it. Once the Majority of tourists leave for the day they he town picks up a magic to it. la Soffitta e La Torre is in a very old home but surprisingly updated. Our host pointed out that an old tower stairs stood where the running room now is. It is quiet, especially in the 4 person room. We loved it !

2 night stay in Orvieto

Wonderful b&b rooms. Old beams on the ceiling, comfortable big beds, lovely breakfast basket, beautiful old building overlooking the main square and near to duomo. The host was lovely and went out of her way to make you feel welcome. I will definitely be booking again when the weather isn't as hot. Can't fault it at all. What a find.

The little window facing the Piazza is great. I felt very comfortable and the building is close to the center of town. The staff were excellent, helpful, and very patient when I had credit card issues.

Just perfection - as was Orvieto.

Rich in atmosphere, couldn't be more central, very comfortable and with a window overlooking a large square, and with a very friendly owner. Just perfect.

Tough going up all the stairs if you're carrying heavy suitcases - if you have difficulties with them 'on the ground', this might be tricky.

A pleasant stay in old Orvieto...we will definitely come back!

We had a lovely 1night stay at La Soffitta e la Torre in Orvieto. The place is in the attic of an old building in the city center, 5 mins walk from the Duomo. The ceiling of the hall is nicely fitted with wooden beams, and some rooms too, giving a special antique touch to the place. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. There is a common sitting area with a fridge and a coffee machine. Beatrice and her mum were very kind and friendly hosts. They allowed us to do an early check in and have space to keep the luggage in case of later check out, that was very helpful given the hot temperatures of the summer. Orvieto is such a lovely city, if we had more time we would have loved to stay some extra days. It is small but there are many interesting attractions to visit and also it is so pleasant to walk around in the narrow cobblestone streets. Food in Orvieto is also a must, with many nice restaurants dotted around, selling local specialties at reasonable price (we had dinner at Osteria del Re, 5 mins away from the accommodation). We will definitely go back one day :)

It is not a critic, just a suggestion...although I know that with the new covid legislation and also with the licence of B&B in Italy is not that simple... Instead of packaged breakfast in the room, I would have preferred home made breakfast as I believe it will add a special touch to the place, especially in a region where food is great. Nevertheless, this did not affect our stay nor my review as in any case we could keep our own stuff in the fridge.

A spectacular stay with a delightful family

The English-speaking owners were communicative and absolutely delightful. The room was available for an early check-in, and the room is in a gorgeous traditional home. I felt completely at home, and the views over the piazza were lovely. All facilities excellent, including AC. A really fabulous place; I strongly recommend it.

Eine unglaublich freundliche Gastgeberin! Die Lage ist perfekt – zentral und trotzdem ruhig. Das Apartment befindet sich in einem charmanten Altbau, ist großzügig geschnitten, gut ausgestattet und sehr komfortabel.

Soddisfacente e confortevole e soprattutto semplice muoversi a orvieto storica

Posizione perfetta sulla piazza del capitano del popolo. Non era prevista la colazione ma la signora mette a disposizione qualcosa di confezionato oltre macchina da caffè. Ci ha accolto la proprietaria gentilissima con un sorriso solare che ci ha fatto vedere tutta la torre.

Perfette le indicazioni preliminari sui parcheggi e percorsi . Tutto perfetto. La struttura è antica quindi ci sono capriate in legno ovunque .per chi piace dimorare in una struttura del 1300 e perfetta.

Posizione ottima, accogliente, pulita e una bella vista su piazzale del popolo e sulla Torre del Moro. Personale molto cordiale e disponibile

Quasi nulla, ma qualcosina si può migliorare: il letto matrimoniale erano 2 singoli attaccati quindi non comodissimo, poche mensole da appoggio in bagno e nessuna in doccia e la qualità della biancheria da bagno non era granché.

Un manque de communication ou plutôt un quiproquo sur les conditions de stationnement. Il est important de préciser aux voyageurs que le parking de la Piazza del Popolo est réservé au marché les jeudis et samedis matin. À défaut, la voiture part à la fourrière= 205€’
