proximity to the runway
From the beginning, the reception was not good, the service was not good, and the food, both breakfast and dinner, was not good.

The hotel would certainly not be described as modern - the decor, furnishings, everything - is old and heavy in style, but not in a bad way. Lots of wood, dark carpets etc. The feeling is perhaps of old charm.
The rooms are large'ish - huge comfy bed, large super heated bathroom with both shower and bath. Luxurious hot water. Thermostat in the room works perfectly - you can be as warm as you like. Our (standard) room had a large balcony facing the slope & mountains. Beautiful view when the fog lifts.
The spa services within the hotel are fantastic - a large indoor pool, indoor and outdoor Jacuzzi and a good sized outdoor pool - where you can swim in hot water with the snow all around. A delightful experience!
The location is second to none - for skiing in Bansko it can't be beat. It is right across from the Gondola - 30-40 meters walk in the snow from the ski shop rental within the hotel where you exit directly to the snow.
Hotel restaurants are supposed to be very good but expensive. We did not book the full board option but sampled the local restaurants - there's plenty of great options to choose from in walking distance.
As a tip I would suggest - rent your ski equipment in the hotel (the convenience is more than worth it) but buy your ski pass at the gondola. The hotel is happy to sell you the lift tickets with your equipment but they charge a premium of about 20 euro a day per person.
Wifi works great.
Hotel staff are pleasant and helpful - overall a great experience.
The following are minor issues that could be improved.
Not enough electrical outlets in the room. Although there is an outlet on each bedside, with multiple items to charge that's not enough. An outlet is especially lacking at the (long and convenient) desk. I imagine I'm not the only person who wanted to plug in their laptop (I had to unplug the TV).
Also - if there was a way to get Netflix on the (large flatscreen) TV - I didn't find it. This day and age I find it surprising when hotels do not provide built in access to streaming services. Allow folks to connect their own account & wipe it when they leave.

Spa is impressive. location, staff, food quality, valet service
Half board- it is common to serve water (not mineral) but at Kempinski they do not so you have to pay even for water so yo paid for hslf board but you need to pay more.
Room bath- it is of a 3 star hotel level. You have both bath and a shower but the shower is not big and the shower head is fixed, small and with a low water stream power. So I moved to the bath which is narrow, half open (water flush the floor) and low water stream power.
Not to the level you expect Kempinski.
Lobby bar prices are extremely high.10 Euro for a capucino in Bulgaria...

The breakfast was delightful, and the SPA experience was outstanding. Our rooms were tidy, roomy, and interconnected. I highly recommend this hotel in Bansko if you appreciate attention to detail.

The hospitality, the kindness and smiles. The consideration in our lately marriage. Our hearts were warmed with the kind gestures from the hotel. The best to stay in Bansko. The breakfast was wonderful.

SPA
While checking out of the hotel, we discovered that someone had recorded a purchase at the bar on our room, even though we said we hadn't made the purchases, so they tried to show us checks signed by someone else. Bottom line, we didn't pay anything, but the experience was unpleasant

Thank you Rene and Sara !
From the moment we stepped into Kempinski Bansko,we were greeted with genuine smiles and glass of champagne to start our special wedding celebration. Check-in was seamless, and the reception manager - Sara went out of her way to offer great service and hospitality to us and our families, which was much needed due to the stress around the wedding organising.
Our room was spotless, airy, and thoughtfully arranged, with a balcony that opened to panoramic views of Pirin mountains. The little touches — of welcome complimentary chocolates, and a handwritten welcome card by Rene- made it feel personal and special.
Breakfast was a highlight: fresh pastries still warm from the oven, perfectly brewed coffee, and an omelette station where the chef happily remembered our preferences each morning. The staff’s warmth never felt forced; it felt like they were genuinely invested in making our stay unforgettable.
We also enjoyed the heated outdoor pool overlooking the mountains, the DJ on the terrace on Saturday afternoon and the saxophone on Friday evening were exactly what we needed. The location made exploring the area and nearby shops effortless, yet it still felt tucked away enough for peaceful relaxation.
I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an amazing service, comfort, and charm are in perfect harmony. We left with full hearts — and are already planning our next visit during the winter when we can ski.
We had the most amazing wedding and this was possible thankfully to Rene and Sara, without their help our special day wound have never been as perfect as it was.
We had a rocky beginning with communication and service. But after good conversation everything was understood by the Kempinski staff and issues were quickly fixed. We were just a lot of people coming from all around the world and had a lot of needs and demands for our wedding as it is the biggest most important time of our lives and we wanted everything to be perfect.

The Kempinski-Bansko hotel is very comfortable with excellent spa-facilities. The breakfast offers a great variety of high quality products. The staff at the hotel and the restaurants is very international which is a real plus, all are very polite, helpful and well-trained. Specific commendation for Ivo - the Head of Food and Catering at Kempinski. He is experienced, dynamic and very efficient. Thanks to all for a very enjoyable stay.
Nothing to mention for this stay.

Our stay at the Kempinski Hotel was enjoyable overall, and I'd like to share a few highlights:
Breakfast: The breakfast offerings were impressive, with a wide variety of choices available. I especially appreciated the option to order fresh eggs and the selection of fresh coffee and tea.
Swimming Pools: The swimming pools were fantastic, and my kids absolutely loved spending time there. It was great to be able to order snacks and drinks while relaxing at the venue.
Restaurant: The restaurant was excellent. The staff were incredibly helpful and had a positive attitude, which made our dining experience even better.
Rooms: The rooms were spacious, clean, and well-maintained. I reserved a mountain view room, which was cleaned daily as per my preference.
I do have some concerns regarding the air conditioning system. While I understand that the hotel is primarily a winter skiing resort, it's important to provide adequate cooling for guests during the summer months. Unfortunately, the air conditioning in our room was a significant issue. The room was uncomfortably warm, and despite setting the thermostat to the coolest temperature, the A/C did not perform as expected. When I contacted the hotel staff, they mentioned that the minimum temperature is set to 21 degrees Celsius, but it was clear that the cooling system was not functioning properly. This greatly affected our comfort, particularly during the night.
I hope my feedback is helpful, and I strongly recommend that the hotel reviews its air conditioning policies and systems to ensure a comfortable stay for guests during warmer months.

Lovely big well appointed room, good breakfast and a very nice restaurant for dinner.
If you are there for Winter Sports this hotel has the best location, it is ski in and ski out.
We were there for a late Autumn break looking at the local attractions, the Old Town and the countryside. There is plenty to do and see.

The hotel is beautiful. The rooms are wide and nice. The bathroom is very nice. Everything is clean and it looks like they thought about the little details that makes the difference. The stuff is nice and helpful. The swimming pools and the area is lovely.

The property is beautiful with a fantastic spa…one of the best I have been to.
Because it is primarily a winter resort, the air conditioning did not work well for the daytime heat. At night we slept with the windows open. Also, there were not enough outlets in the room for electronic devices.

We had a pleasant stay for 3 nights in summer (low season). The room is very spacious with a beautiful view on the mountains. Excellent spa complex (where you can spend several hours), super comfortable beds and good breakfast. We have received a cake from the hotel on the birthday of our family member. At the check-out you get a jar of rose jam. Nice touch! Overall, great place for a relaxing stay in summer and exploration of the surroundings.

Very clean. Very comfortable beds. Mountain view rooms feature a large bathroom with both bathtub and shower separately. Very good breakfast. Wonderful air and view outside. Very helpful staff. The heated pool and spa zone with different saunas and cryo room are great.
The overall territory is very well taken care of.

The beds were comfortable, and the rooms were spacious and well-equipped.
The pool was great for relaxing after a long day of exploring, and the views of the mountains were simply breathtaking.
The breakfast buffet was excellent, with a wide variety of delicious dishes to choose from.
The hotel is also located in a great location.
Disappointed half board dinner menu at this hotel. The selection of dishes was very limited, and the flavors were bland. The prices were also very high, and many of the dishes were for additional charge. I strongly advise against paying for dinner at this hotel. You can get much better food for half the price at the restaurants nearby.
