The location was perfect, in the heart of the Sassi, close to restaurants, and within walking (climbing) distance from the sites that make Matera famous.
We had chosen a superior suite, and the photos on the website did not do it justice! The room far exceeded our expectations. You could easily fit three standard hotel rooms inside and still have room left over to walk comfortably. It was the perfect combination of ancient vibe and modern comfort.
Our room included a complimentary hour at the spa, along with the sauna, steam room, pool, and relaxation area.
Breakfast was also included. The variety of food offered was so abundant that we usually skipped lunch and had an early dinner.
The staff was amazing and always there to help whenever we needed something.
Everything was perfect the way it was. We look forward to coming back and staying longer next time.

The breakfast was very good. I would assume in the summertime there would be an area to have breakfast outdoors.
I would have liked a bigger bottle of water in the room

Great location, very nice property, very friendly staff. The spa was great.
You get less ventilation in a cave room, but I guess that should be expected…
