The gardens are utterly stunning. Having so much plant life around attracts loads of beautiful wildlife. Hummingbirds, yellow flycatchers, dragonflies, even marmosets in the early morning!! The outdoor lounge areas are fabulous, I could have spent all day in one of those hammocks.
The location is ideal, far enough away from the town centre to be peaceful, but not an arduous walk either.
The rooms have personality! No signs of plain white bedsheets and drab gray paint. On the rooms: the AC works splendidly and the small fridge is a wonderful addition to keep your drinks cold for a day by the pool!
Another bonus - hot water that's actually hot. No low-voltage Brazilian type Luke warm electric showers here. They have solar hot water which comes out so hot you only have to turn the tap a tiny bit to get a truly hot shower.
The breakfast was wonderful, the tastiest mango I've ever had in my life. Freshly prepared juice every morning, different flavours daily. Home made cake for breakfast pudding and freshly cooked eggs to order.
Cafe da tarde is a lovely touch too, every afternoon at about 4pm a tray with a flask of delicious coffee and more home made cake appears.
The staff are extremely friendly without being sycophantic which is a really hard balance to strike.
The mattresses are a bit hard.
The only other thing I can think of to write here is that the pool could do with more regular net scooping. I did it myself (happily) one evening, only took 10 minutes to remove the dead bugs (you're in Brazil, can't complain about a few dead mosquitos/bit of bird food!!).
I would recommend this pousada to anyone visiting Paraty, it's very special and I will definitely be looking to stay again the next time I'm craving pés na areia em Paraty!! Thank you for a lovely stay.

It was a green paradise in the city, we even saw monkeys! The employees were really nice, the breakfast really good and the room has everything you need.
It’s a bit older and you can feel it with the furniture and look of the bathroom. But it’s 100% a great prize-quality relation.

Place is rustic and not what I was expecting however it was good
We had no safe and room was small
About a ten minute walk to downtown ..
II would recommend it but just be aware it's very basic but they do have a pool and lovely gardens
