Fabulous stay!
Everything was perfect. I was a little scared and thought we might be cold on the boat, but no, turns out you were perfectly well prepared for scottish weather!! :D Thanks again, we had a wonderful time. Cherry on the cake: The tap water was drinkable??? How did you manage that?? I've stayed on boats before, many times, never been able to drink the tap water!
Reliable, nice, flexible and comfortable. We will definitely come back and absolutely will recommend!!
Thanks, amazing experience!

A fun adventure and unique experience
Our family of five had a wonderful stay at this charming boathouse. While the space is compact, it was thoughtfully designed and the bedding was comfortable. Storage was our only real challenge, as fitting luggage for five proved tricky — though we admittedly didn’t pack light. The kitchen was well equipped with everything needed for light cooking, and the water pressure in the shower was excellent. Hot water was plentiful but limited in duration, so shorter showers worked best. Overall, it was a delightful and memorable experience — a unique stay that combined comfort with a touch of adventure.

The location was great, Natalie was friendly, the swans by the boat were sweet.
Prior to our arrival (by a few days) , we were given a set of instructions, including free parking applicable to the days we were there, and check in instructions relating to getting the boat keys. Upon arriving, we were given another set of instructions which indicated the parking was not free. Then the key was not where we were told it would be, and so we were waiting at the pier for 30 minutes for someone to assist us in person/ over the phone. We ended up having to climb over the railing with our luggages (I’m pregnant). Once we entered the boat, the Wifi instructions were not updated. The welcome hamper we purchased was not there, we had to request it. In the instructions, we were told the heaters were switched on and had a timer associated with them. At no point did the main heaters switch on during our stay, and we were very cold at night. There were cobwebs all around the boat and we even encountered spiders in multiple spots including the shower. We were given instructions on how to check out, including washing and tidying up (with a strong note that we would be charged for the additional cleaning service otherwise). But with all of this in mind, the key point here was that at no point did any single person meet us to help with anything or explain anything, not for check in/ to do a quick explanatory walk around, not to resolve the minor issues eg keys, lightbulb and heaters, not for check out. Had someone met with us, I am sure our experience would have been different… but we were at the mercy of WhatsApp messages that sometimes required hours before we received a response. Sadly, our experience could have been different.

A unique experience that made our weekend.
Price and location were excellent. Communication was great too. Nearby secure parking was a bonus. We were able to check in very early with no troubles at all. Also a free breakfast hamper through Booking.com
Nothing. It was exactly as described and pictured. We've been hammering Canal Boat Diaries recently so when we saw this was available we snapped it up.

Unique family stay
This was a unique experience that my family really enjoyed! It is easy to walk to the castle and royal mile. The shower house was an easy walk and the water was hot! My teenagers showered on the boat. We ordered a basket and made breakfast on the boat. Enjoyed feeding the swans and meeting some neighbors. Our host were pleasant and helpful!
There is a lot of construction going on along the canal. We were there during the week so it was a little loud during the day.

Great location and quirky fun accomodation
Location was great - and enjoyed being on the boat. Well designed.
You have to be prepared for boat living! Great to find the shower block and toilets along the quay.

Great location great staff and something different to try out. Well equipped with everything.
Location was so convenient to everything short walk. Staff was incredibly charming kind and knowledgeable. Kids absolutely loved the experience versus just another nice hotel etc… was a great twist on glamoing but in the heart of the city and on the canal !!! We will be back FANTASTIC ! Highly recommend
Nothing exceeded expectations

Kitchy idea but not for everyone
This was a very unique and memorable experience being on a house boat. The location was central to the major sites of the city and convenient to restaurants and stores.
We knew the space would be tight, and while it offered 2 bedrooms and 2 bunk beds, the bathroom was very small and hard to maneuver in, especially for anyone with limited mobility. Getting in and out of the boat was also a challenge due to the small size of the door. The boat is also on a part of the canal with a lot of nearby pedestrians, so it was noisy even at night as people walked around so it was difficult to get a good night's sleep. While it was a safe location, due to the position of the boat, it was easy for pedestrians to see directly into the boat unless all the curtains were down, so we felt uncomfortable. I think it suits singles or couples but in retrospect it didn't work for our family of four. Additionally, part of the shower broke while we were there. We contacted the host but no one came to fix it. We also ordered a breakfast package but part of the order was missing so we had to supplement our meal.

Definitely would reserve it again.
Nice accommodation with personality. Good location. Everything very tidy. Super friendly and helpful land (or quay) lady.
Of course it is a boat, so there is no excess room to any direction - fortunately our luggage was very modesty sized.

Boat Safety
The location was great. The parking was convenient.
We booked for 6 adults on the Fpur Sisters with 2 bedrooms and bunk beds. We were given the Wee Sisters.
The first thing was sleeping arrangements for the 6 adults. We were offered a single person's fold out couch that was horribly uncomfortable. Then we ran into no electricity or heat during the night due to the inverter failing, with no battery backup. The macerator toilet wouldn't shut off, so we had to shut that off after each use. Additionally, with the smell of something overheating in the control cabinet, there was fear of a possible fire starting on board. We had to shut the fuse box down completely. We were ultimately forced to vacate the boat with no on-site resolution. The staffing wouldn't answer the phone or texts in a timely manner so we could get help during the first night. We didn't get to enjoy our full, 3-night, prepaid boat experience.
We were expected to take care of the issues with the inverter and electricity ourselves.
We stayed through the cold night waiting for a response from the host, as we had nowhere else to go. We did not receive communication until 8:00 am the next morning, where we only received texts with no return phone call. Our final instructions were to seek a claim with the booking agency.
We are now seeking a full refund for this booking.

Student's review
The boat was beautiful inside and really spacious. The 7 of us had more than enough space. The beds have heaters and everything is really modern. The owner Natalie was really nice and answered all our questions instantly. Definitely reccomend it.
The only "downside" is the toilet. You need to put the toilet paper in the bin as you can't flush it down the toilet, although , it really wasn't that big of a problem.

Not overly comfortable but it may suit others….not a return for me.
The location is about a 8 minute walk to the Royal Mile and there are some cafes around quite close. The beds were comfortable. Kitchen well appointed.
I was prepared for a lack of a space but if you have a fair amount of luggage there isn’t much left. The shower was leaking from the top and the hot water ran out after 2 or so minutes. The instructions were that a staff member meet us on site but it ended up being contactless so a little confusing the day of arrival. The boat is quite noisy when the wind is blowing. Couldn’t find the tv remote in the first bedroom. Wouldn’t recommend for more than 3 adults.

Superb
The location is great, three genuine bedrooms on board and a really nice place to sit and relax. All the ease of hotel rooms but with a sitting room. Lovely really. Sit on deck and feed the geese. A very cool way to stay in edinburgh.
Loved all of it.

Exceptional
It was a novel way to stay in the city. Once on the boat, you felt like you were far away from the hussel and bussel. Cosy and comfortable. It was clean and had everything you would need.
The kitchen was well stocked with equipment to be able to cook a meal. We didn't because space was tight in the galley, having 4 people stay.

Very good
First time on a houseboat so new experience, great location, breakfast basket was good, comfortable beds.
Shower/toilette system is quite small....as usual on a boat, but hotels are clearly more comfortable.

location was perfect , such a cute little boat!
nothing major , just a few cleaning bits which I think were missed and the bedding had a little smell to it. understandable with it being on the water though I guess.

Well kept, equipped, clean boat. Comfortable beds. Good liaison by staff about arrival arrangements etc.
Very limited floor space in bedrooms, but understand that was unavoidable. No toaster.

Great location, great facilities. Loved the house boat.
Parking nearby was a problem and we were very conscious re the toilet, always afraid that someone would forget and put toilet paper down. But both these problems were outweighed by location and experience.
