BasicRooms Hotel

It was close to activities, but quiet.

Bathroom was small, but I liked it.

The location is great, close to the bus stop. With the guest card, you can use the bus in Interlaken for free and easily reach your destinations. The hotel’s decoration is very beautiful, cozy, and charming. The service is also very good and friendly.

It would be nice to have an electric kettle in the room since the weather is cold. If we had one, we could enjoy some hot water

15 to 20 minute walk from OST train station and there is a free bus nearby. Coop supermarket is very close to walk to and is open 7 days a week. The lady on reception is very kind and helpful. She let me check in super early and heated water for me when I asked her. The room has a window that opens and a little view of mountains through the houses. The bed is comfortable. There is a basin in the room and a tap, a small wardrobe, a small table and a chair. Soap and towels are provided. The room is serviced daily if required. The shared toilets and showers were very clean and functional.

The walls are very thin and the floors are noisy. You can hear the people talking in the next room. I woke up everytime someone opened their door in the hallway. The place is very old, very basic and a bit worn out. The duvet was stained. The linen needs replacing. It is overpriced for what it is. Unfortunately this seems to be the case for accommodation in Interlaken.

Staff were friendly. The accommodation was 'no frills' budget level as advertised, adequate for the Swiss price and very clean. The room had a little balcony which was nice. The location was conveniently near places to eat, a supermarket, a bakery and a bus stop. You could see part of the Jungfrau from the front of the hotel.

Some of the decor is tired but it is 'budget'. There weren't as many toilets available as I had expected but it wasn't a problem while we were there as they have less guests at weekends than during the week.
