The property was in inviting when you walked through the doors it was clean and tidy
We never had no Housekeeping for two days. There were dirty towels that we had used left all in the bathroom. As we had nowhere else to put them The manager tried to say that we had only paid less than what we had paid and Housekeeping don’t turn up to change towels, beds or replenish the items on the coffee and tea side of it but we had paid £240 the manager would not come and see us as they had only been in post four days The Housekeeping were there in the morning but just basically didn’t turn up to our room. We was out from 9 o’clock both days came back and had to go down and complain. They brought us a towel each no clean cups and a few milk and teabags. When we left on the Sunday morning, the manager S was there but gave us no eye contact no other apology just basically ignore us. We just walked out. when we booked this day, it said we could get breakfast at the request in the morning. There was no breakfast as it wasn’t peak time. We asked to ask about this. It was not noted anywhere.

Breakfast was not offered. When I booked I called the hotel and was told that breakfasts were paid for separately and were not available on Mondays . On checking in on the slip we were given with internet code , opening times of restaurant times were given . Breakfast wasn’t mentioned.
The hotel no longer offers breakfasts .
We stayed for 3 nights. Our room wasn’t cleaned the whole time we were there despite putting the hanger on our door. The coffee/ tea/ milk were not replenished and the “ luxury toiletries” which consisted of 2 20ml bottles of shower gel were not replaced.
We mentioned it to reception who weren’t really bothered and just gave us a pint glass full of tea bags, milk and coffee sachets . They said that as we had booked through booking .com to complain to you .

First time staying here. Hotel staff were all lovely and friendly that we spoke to. Room was clean and tidy, bed was comfortable. Room had tea and coffee making facilities, with a selection of tea and coffee. We stayed in Room 24, which overlooked the drive way, which was a nice view.
We stayed in room 24, on arrival when we walked into the room it was cold like walking in to a freezer.
Room does need a little tlc. The bathroom needs a some tlc as well. Turned the hot water tap on, took 5 minuites for any water to come through. Turned the cold water tap on the following morning and the water came out yellow, had to leave running around 10 minuites for it to come clear. The taps don't turn off properly, twist right round.

Easy check in , large car park to park, convenient for staying in as attending party at the hotel
No working ceiling lights in our room or bathroom which we didn’t realise until we went back to our room late at night, only had the bedside light to use , woken up by someone in the room below playing very unbelievably loud music at 5.30 am for 3/4 hour , apparently it is staff/ maintenance team room! , no hairdryer available which should of been, mentioned to reception in the morning got a simple apology, didn’t really feel they were too bothered though 😕

Woks Christmas meal was nice.
The double bed in the room was incredibly hard and you could hear the springs pop.
Price for room only was not worth of £80.

Plenty of tea and coffee in room, clean bedding.
Not very clearly signed as the sign for the hotel was on someone’s house, it could do with an arrow pointing towards the hotel, as you can’t see it in the dark. The noise from the room next door, they went to the loo every hour so didn’t sleep at all, not the hotels fault but you can’t hear everything. The room was very basic but it had everything that we needed.

All staff were friendly and helpful.
The room (same one I've stayed in before) was clean and tidy, nice and warm which is a bonus for this time of year.
The food in the restaurant was absolutely delicious.
Overall a fantastic stay and a local favourite!!

Nice setting. Great looking old building. Pods in the garden for nice weather (which it wasn't, so didn't use). Plenty of parking. Dining room looked good but again we didn't have time to try it. We had an upper floor room with a view over the entrance drive and garden. We didn't have food, but people were visiting for lunch so must decent.
The room we had (24) was dated as expected. It was mostly ok, maybe what you'd expect in such an old building. Can only speak for our room and it does need a bit of maintenance. None of the taps worked properly and the toilet needed 2 or 3 attempts to flush. If you are going to stay on the upper floors, be aware access is tight up the steepish winding staircases. Unfortunately the water was off completely on Saturday afternoon as we were getting ready to go out. I get things go wrong but being told everything would be back to normal (including hot water) in 20 minutes was out of order. I guessed it wouldn't be, and an hour later the "hot" water was still cold, so we gave up on having a shower before going out. Take a photo of your entrance codes (you'll understand why when you visit).

Beautiful property and beautiful rooms, lady on serving Sunday was amazing, she was run off her feet but still served with a smile and nothing was too much for her

The little sitting pods outside
We were put in a room where there was a wedding reception and disco directly below we were not part of the wedding and the disco went on to the early hours. There are no relaxing areas at the hotel where you can have a drink and relax all the seating was linked to eating round a table it was set out a bit like a working mens club but we were only there one night so we put up with it.
