The whole hotel was so clean, the rooms where everything that was expected and more.
The shower after we had a surprise upgrade was out of this world.
The owners of the hotel were so welcoming , warm, and a great sense of humour and knew so much about the local area.
The location is 10 minutes walk from the event and the sea front, absolutely perfect location and parking was so easy too.

Very welcoming hosts. They took the time to explain where we were and how to get to the main thoroughfare which was very helpful. It it well located for the centre and the sea. The bed was very comfortable, bed sheets very comfortable and clean. The lounge area downstairs is very pleasant.
Stepping back in time: The stairs are carpeted and are slippery on the way down. Quite a few stains on the carpet, and the bedroom is quite old fashion with a mishmash of items. The glass shelves in the bathroom are precarious. The plumbing woke us up very early as the heating system came on...(we then anticipated a hot shower) Unfortunately, the water was very lukewarm for me (I could not get warm under it) and well, the water was freezing for my husband. We had not book a breakfast so cannot comment.

Room ready early, super clean. Felt comfortable and safe. I was a solo traveller, and at some venues you can feel uncomfortable, but not at The Saxby. The hosts accommodate you perfectly to your needs, you can sit downstairs if you want, in lovely lounge area, with a roaring fire in the evening, which is a lovely Autumn touch! But you can also just do your own agenda and they leave you be with not only your room key, but the front door key to come and go as you please. Well organised, plenty of towels, shower easy to use and warm. I spent a couple of nights as I was attending an event, and this is my number one choice of visit for future trips. One tip, bring your own wine or tipple as the bar is not open during the winter months. Location is good, a 5 minute walk into Skegness.
Honestly nothing. It suited my needs perfectly.

Our stay at the Saxby was 1 of the best! Parked directly outside as the car park was full but this was ok as no parking restrictions.. Paul and Wendy both greeted us at the door, cute touch! Showed us to our room which was perfect for our stay.. coffee, tea and biscuits available in the room and shower products in the bathroom!
Visited the embassy centre which was approx 5 min walk away!
Perfect sleep.. mattress and pillows were good..
Breakfast was at 8.30 and was excellent! Full English for the fella and I had vegi, both with toast - piping hot and flavoursome! Other items available to help yourself inc. continental, yoghurts, fruit, cheeses (babybels and marmite mmmm)
All in all this was an EXCELLENT stay and with us being visitors to the Embassy centre, we have now found our haven for future visits!
So thank you so much to you both..
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Nothing to dislike!

Upon arrival we received a warm welcome from the owners, Paul & Wendy. The room was clean and comfortable and the bathroom was spacious. The location is great as the hotel is in a quiet area, but within a 5 minute walk you're right in the centre.

Great family room with plenty of space
Curtains let the light in so was up very early! Could do with a larger bed a double is quite small these days.

The staff was friendly, made you feel very welcome, room was very clean and smelled fresh.
There was no fans for hot days, not many channels on the TV for younger couples.

Paul and Wendy were fantastic hosts me and my daughter felt so welcomed at every moment. Room was absolutely fantastic. Downstairs lounge was beautiful and so comfy. Lovely touches everywhere with family photos displayed, board games available and brilliant recommendations for restaurants and experiences from both hosts. Always catering for your every need. I didn't catch the cleaner ladys name but she did a superb job and her customer service was fantastic, very warm personality. I can't recommend the place enough. We will be back and will encourage family and friends to book when visiting skeg ness! Thanks guys!
Can't give a negative as I didn't find one!

Clean room providing everything we needed.
Parking great on the premises.
Quiet area, comfortable bed for a good nights sleep.
Would definitely recommend The Saxby Hotel and we will stay again.
Nothing.
Breakfast would have been a bonus but they do state that they do not provide breakfast during July and August so fair enough.

The property is in a good location, assuming that nobody in your party has mobility issues if you prefer to walk to the front rather than take the car and pay for parking. (I have a blue badge but anyway we preferred to take a taxi, which was about £5 - £5.50 from The Saxby to the pier and the same again for the return).
It was good that there is on-site parking, even though not a space for every guest. We turned up a bit late on our 1st night so had to park on the street, but the next day there were spaces available and we were able to park at the side of the hotel. It is a busy road and lots of parked cars, so we felt happier when we were parked off-road.
The very fact that the Saxby is set back slightly from the seafront and main entertainment zone meant that the noise levels were fine, especially as the weather was so warm that we needed to have our bedroom windows open. Anybody who was staying on the front would have needed ear plugs if they wanted to sleep, I would think!!
The owners were lovely - unobtrusive but always available if needed, and super-friendly. I had my birthday while we were there, and we came back from an afternoon on the pier to find a Happy Birthday! banner across our bedroom door. So thoughtful!
We didn't eat at The Saxby because no catering is provided during July and August, so we can't comment on food, but we had a kettle in our room, with plenty of tea and coffee provided and 2 packs of cookies, plus a mini fridge which was very welcome for our beer and wine!!
There are USB points in the double sockets by the bed which was great, because I tend to listen to the radio on my phone during the night so I was able to keep it fully-charged.
There is a Tesco literally a 2 minute drive away, which was fine for us to get a sandwich to have in our room as we didn't want to go out on our first evening, having had a longish drive.
We would have preferred a wider bed. We are used to a king size whereas this bed was a standard double, even though the room was marketed as a 'de luxe' option. A king-size could be accommodated by getting rid of the rather 'tired looking' bedside cabinets and getting slim-line ones and smaller lamps, or by fitting simple shelves directly to the wall at each bedside, because we only needed a small lamp and coaster on either side. The bed itself was comfortable enough, but I think quite old, judging by the noise the springs made when I got on it/in it!
The weather was VERY hot and so was the room. A fan was provided, but it didn't create much of a breeze even on the maximum setting. Also, it was a pillar fan on the floor so what breeze it did make didn't travel very far. We put it on the side table to elevate it which helped a bit but not much unfortunately.

Close to amenities but in a quiet residential street. Room and bathroom were both spotless and they supplied big, fluffy towels that actually go round your entire body! A big plus point.
