Not a lot
We arrived and there was no family rooms which we booked,
We had to go into rooms which was smaller and children had to share beds, if we travelled without the children I would of gone, but children was so excited for couple days away

It’s a grand old hotel that must have had massive character back in the day , location is only 5mins to clock tower
Its welcoming and friendly but needs investment but is it viable for the returns
I can’t say it there was anything I didn’t like ,

They had smoked bacon which is too salty and sausages were too dense. Everything else ok.
Bed was comfortable, we slept well
Staff didn't know anything about anything. They had a Valentine event but no one could tell us what the menu was and what entertainment they had. Turned out the menu was below parr, service at table nearly non-existent, and we didn't bother going into the event room. - it was an elderly man playing very old tunes on a guitar. Apparently only 15 people turned up! However manager didn't charge us the full amount

Very comfortable , spacious twin room, great mattress and pillows and very clean.
I’ve stayed at this hotel several times and I love the character of the old building . Great to see the owners are spending money on it with redecoration, smart locks, smart TV in my bedroom and nice new looking furniture and carpet.
Great location and large car park.
Fantastic value for money , ÂŁ35 including breakfast.
Friendly staff and a nice atmosphere.
The Royal is part of the history of Skegness .

I was lucky enough to be upgraded to a fantastic double room with a Seaview and Terrace. The room was well equipped and very clean. It’s a beautiful building with history and original features. I particularly like the fresco at Reception. Much better than staying in a modern characterless box. Plenty of parking and a great location . Staff are friendly and the breakfast was good. Extremely good value for money.
Nothing. The owners are updating the hotel for example with smart locks on bedroom doors and there was some decorating going on. Good to see the hotel being looked after

At breakfast the water for tea wasn't very hot and coffee was also luke warm

Some places are in need of freshening up with paint

Breakfast was good, room recently refurbished was very nice.
The hotel, compared to stays in previous years, is starting to show its age, although decorating was in progress in the bar area and completed in the function room.
Seems the days of the entertainment packages and style of the bar area are long gone due to lack of funding and no doubt Premier inn / Travelodge having an impact in the locality!

The price of the room was very reasonable. The breakfast was excellent.
Because the shower was over the bath it soaked the floor and made it very slippy.
