Good facilities and lovely park right next to it.

Well situated for evening walks in the park (which oddly had flamingoes!), great for a one night stopover. Lots of options for food although the formal restaurant was way too expensive (it is a Michelin starred restaurant though so I guess it's to be expected). The road it's on isn't on Sat Nav as being drivable which was odd!

I got lost so many times but they provide a map and clear signs everywhere so don't see what more they could do! The outside bar and food didn't seem quite in keeping with the hotel itself and was quite scruffy in comparison but caters to the park as well. Getting out of the carpark was a bit of nightmare and had us holding our breath as we were very worried we would bash our car round the tight corners. Could the entrance be two ways?

Our stay was during a heat wave. Air conditioning in the room kept the temperature bearable, but would have been more comfortable if it had been a little cooler.

Terrific hotel. Near Frankfurt, on the Rhine, but secluded. We loved it.

Modern hotel. Clean, spacious, Air Conditioning was a plus for July. Food in the beer garden was terrific. The breakfast was amazing. All of this with views of the Rhine. Loved the room, the parking, the staff and the views.

Location in parc is great, breakfast is awesome, family room that we booked was very nice. staff was super nice. I’ve tried many hotels and this one is likely to be the best in Mainz.

That you have to pay extra for every little thing. for example a welcome coffee at the reception you need to pay 3 Euro?

Good location in nice setting by a park outside of Mainz. Excellent breakfast buffet. Roof top hot tub was also nice.

Free WiFi did not work in my room - had to go to the lobby area. Parking can be difficult at times on the street.

Very calm location, nice “old style” hotel, very spacious room.

Family room does not offer “shower privacy” (which is an issue for… pre-teenagers). Did not need it but the safe was locked.

Exceptional

A wonderful family-run hotel with the highest standards of hospitality, friendliness, cleanliness and serenity. My wife and I had a lovely time, the boys adored the pool, the sauna facilities were amazing, and the breakfast just perfect. Wonderful all around. Thank you!

Good

Rooms are modern, with great views on the park. In Lobby there are some great lounge locations. Cleaness in rooms and public areas. Wellness zone has swimming pool with warm water. Personal were polite and friendly.

There is coffee capsule automat in rooms, but capsules for making coffee not for free, you must pay 1,50 euro for one capsule. This is so petty and the fact itself is annoying. It would be better, if they set the price for a room by 5-10 euros more, for such an amount it is not very noticeable, but they would avoid irritating the guests. Another point is that there is a railway line nearby. With the windows closed, you can get used to it and the noise is small, but you won’t be able to sleep if you open the window for ventilation. I also did not like that in the Wellness area on the 1st floor, out of three saunas, only one worked normally and it is very small, a maximum of 4 people. The second one didn't work properly (it was a Roman steam room, but there was no steam there, it was just a little warm 35-40 degrees C). The third one didn't work at all. All saunas are very small and obviously not designed for so many people.

Business trip friendly hotel with great park side view

I requested for a clean room with no carpets and new bed sheets. My requests were fully accommodated by the hotel staff. My room had a balcony and park side view, which was great, lots of trees. Also, spacious rooms, large/double bed, penthouse gym wasn't bad either - more free weights would have been great, sauna was also good. They have work stations near the reception with group seating and monitors; therefore, business trip friendly. Breakfast was great, topped-off with a nice view of the park. Overall, I can recommend it for business trips and short vacations. I will visit this hotel again, when I am in Mainz.

The lifts were a bit slow, had to wait quite long, unusually long.

Good for train-spotters

Large well-equipped room that you would expect in this price range. Very comfortable bed, efficient room temperature control. The hotel is in a great location and there's a lovely walk into the city centre through the Park past the flamingos and the Roman theatre. Wine bar worth a visit.

The room was advertised as overlooking the Rhine - which it did - as well as three railway lines. This wouldn't have been a problem if the room had been fitted with a higher standard of noise reducing glazing. Some small snacks and drinks were invitingly laid out on the desk upon arrival - which at some similar hotels might have been free, but not here - the price list is under the desk on top of the minibar - or twenty clicks away on the App -

Great hotel at Volkspark Mainz

Great location, by the side where we went for a concert. Best decision ever!!! No complaints about the room as well, besides the fact that you could see the whole shower through the window. As I went with a friend that was a little awkward.

Most of the staff was not really helpful sometimes. there was a gentleman though that was really nice. I have also received a email to do an online checkout, but when I went down to give the key they wanted to charge me again. So basically the systems were not connected and that caused a little of a stir on the check out, that took longer than if I had paid at the desk. Therefore, not using that feature again.

Ideal for Volzpark or quiet getaway

Attended a concert in Volzpark so booked this hotel as it is the closest. but really couldn’t have asked for more. room was lovely, had two nice meals there. staff were great. we didn’t use them but the gym and pool looked great.

it was bit of a puzzle to get to our room had to go up and down stairs, but won’t let that put you off just be aware of it and depends which room you are in.

We resided in the hotel room for one night as a transition place. The air conditioning didn't work well, and it was too hot at night. We tried to open the screen window, which was too crowded outside. We could hardly ask for toothpaste and the receptionist at the arrival gave wrong information regarding the breakfast and coffee available for the day after. In general, I was expecting way more comfort compared to the price we paid for one night for the room!

Beautiful setting, with lovely views. Excellent breakfast. Clean, spacious room.

No bed for third person was provided, though it was noted at time of booking. We expected a single bed or sofa bed, but instead had to ask and received a folding bed. Confusing hotel layout with no stairs to reception led to a lot of waiting around for the lift.
