Definitely got a lot spiritual healing here. The Grounds are sooo peaceful! I LOVE how nestled in we are in a remote private heart! From learning how to cook Balinese cuisine…. My Chakara massage… YOGA.. My Gosh, my body mind and soul really needed it. I’m definitely coming back to Bali and staying here. My cottage bungalow was beautiful. Oh & the Foooood!! OMG! Let’s just say I don’t think I’m going to fit in my bikini :-)

Peaceful haven.

I loved the peace and tranquility. Reminded me of the old bali with dogs and roosters and happy faces. Everyone i met was friendly and not alot speaking English . I can recommend the chicken curry.

The only thing was i couldnt ride a motorbike , and would have liked to explore the further neighbourhood and waterfall.

Very comfortable

The owners are very welcoming and kind. This was my first solo travel and they made me feel very comfortable, which I really appriciated. Also, they offer a lot of workshops and fun activities. Would definitly recommend!

A wonderful place to relax and enjoy the green environment.

Everything in this place breaths relaxation and tranquility and everything was perfect during our stay. If you want a place to relax, take care about yourself and enjoy a beautiful environment, this is the place to be! Everything we booked went perfectly: we asked for support to organize a driver from Padangbay to the guest house, we rented a scooter for a day via the guest house everything went smooth. During our stay everything was wonderful as well: everyone was extremely friendly, the food in the restaurant was lovely, we took nice yoga lessons and enjoyed the lovely massages. Definitely a huge recommendation and a big thanks to everyone of the family!

Exceptional with warm and welcoming host, pleasant rooms, delicious dining, and outstanding customer service throughout.

Upon arrival, I was greeted by the family host who made me feel instantly welcome. The room itself was a haven of comfort, clean, and cozy. The bed was incredibly cozy, offering a restful night’s sleep after days activity. One of the highlights of my stay was the exceptional dining. Pak Bagus served a delectable array of dishes, each one bursting with flavor and presented with artistic flair.

Peaceful, relaxing stay away from the island's busy tourist centres.

Firstly, Pondok Masa Depan accepts card payment (says cash only on Booking.com). The property is beautiful and situated away from the busy tourist areas of Bali. There are loads of activities on offer including cooking classes, massage, and yoga, but you can do as little or as much as you like here. Ayu, Bagus and Lakshmi were wonderful hosts. The food is amazing. It's a quiet haven and there are only a few guests at any one time. Definitely worth staying for a few nights (or more) if you're looking for an alternative to the busy tourist areas.

A haven of peace in Sidemen !

Ayu and Bagus are really nice, we felt during our stay that we were as part of the family ! The place is a haven of peace close to Sidemen, with individual rooms in little houses inside a beautiful and peaceful garden. We warmly recommend to live the experience in Sidemen here ! It's perfect to recharge your batteries. We discovered a lot of the Balinese culture, they love to share it : we did the cooking class with Bagus, the suska massage, Balinese astrology reading and reflexology with Ayu. We also did a yoga class with their daughter. And Bagus restaurant is very good ! All along the stay, they made everything to make us feel comfortable. On top of that, their dog is the cutest and the more friendly dog you will met, we loved to see him around. For sure, if we come back to Sidemen, we will come to visit you again !!

From the moment we arrived at Pondok Masa Depan we felt at home - the hosts (owners) Ayu and Bagus were so welcoming and generous spirited. I enjoyed a morning cooking course with Bagus, learning a few delicious Indonesian classics, and our stay was relaxing in the tranquility of this restful haven.

Authentic Balinese experience

We spent two nights in this lovely place. Ayu and Bagus made our experience extraordinary. The Pondol Masa Depan is located in peaceful nature - but without any mosquitos. The bungalows are very comfortable and are equipped with a few thoughtful details. We enjoyed very enjoyable massages, foot reflexology, cooking class with Bagus and his delicious cuisine. Moreover, we experienced a beautiful praying ceremony in the morning with Ayu. To discover Sidemen including the waterfalls, the golden bridge and rice fields, we rented a scooter. Additionally, we hiked Mount Agung, which was an exciting experience.

Incredibly tranquil and beautiful spot with excellent food and service.

Ayu and Bagus are amazingly hospitable and wonderful hosts. They make you feel right and home and have great recommendations about the surrounding area. Bagus is an excellent chef and literally everything I ordered off the menu was incredibly delicious. They also have the cutest dog, who is super affectionate, well behaved and will make you feel right at home!

Lovely guesthouse offering amazing activities, a comfy rest and brilliant value for money.

This perfect little guesthouse is nestled in the rainforest and run by a lovely couple who are keen to organise trekking, massages and other activities. All the ones we did were perfect. the hospitality was warm, and they were only too happy to organise motorbikes, treks, drivers and lots of other things for us (including a blessing and offering ceremony with a local priest). Overall we felt like we had a very unique insight into Balinese life, facilitated by wonderful hosts. It is very good value for money, and the home cooked food is delicious. overall it’s a great place if you want to be sure of a good night sleep, full stomach, and easy access to good activities in the area.

Words wont do justice the experience I have had in Pondok Masa Depan. There are these places that you know will forever stay in your heart, for me this was one of them! I have stayed for two nights and my stay was absolutely amazing. I felt so welcome. During my stay I have experienced an authentic Bali. Already by being within this kindhearted family; but also thanks to the experiences I had in creating the offer and the offering in the temple, with the healing water purification, the trip through the rice fields with Bagus and their amazing dog and the massage of Ayu. On top of that, Bagus is a professional in the kitchen. During my stay I enjoyed all my meals in the Bagus restaurant. The dished are true soul food. Simply amazing. Sad I had to leave, but incredibly happy I encountered this authentic healing piece of earth in Bali!

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 nights at Pondok Masa Depan. Ayu and Bagus were lovely and caring hosts. We even did a cooking class with Bagus which was lots of fun. The property is luscious and green and very private off the main road. They have a restaurant so you don't really need to leave at all however we found Sidemen to be very spaced out so if you're wanting to head over to the main part you will need a Scooter. Definitely recommend a stay here!

Very different from crowded areas like Ubud or Seminyak/Canggu. You can get even more in touch with the nature and have some quiet and relaxing time, with some yoga, massage, and wellness too! Very friendly, family run place where they greet you with “welcome home”. And this delicious mango juice!

It's a must!

This place is wonderful a real taste of Bali. The hosts Ayu & Bagus with their family make you so welcome. We had the sound healing which you also have a traditional blessing it was amazing. Take an early trip to the temple and join in with the prayers Ayu will dress you for the occasion it was so much better than just taking photos. Ayu explains everything also. We also visited the children learning the traditional music and dance close by which you must do as you can join in it was great fun. The lady who runs it was wonderful. Would definitely recommend a stay in the jungle. Plus Bagus is a trained chef so we ate every meal with them which was fabulous we also had a cooking lesson! Worth every penny an unforgettable experience 🙏

5 stars treatment in the jungle

Ayu and Bogus were excellent hosts. Ayu’s kindness and Bogus’ food made our stay perfect and we felt like at home.

The property was a bit hidden so if you are planning to be picked using any taxi app it will not work. In our case, Ayu called her brother who kindly offered us a ride to get to our boat in Padang bai. There are also local taxis to consider.

Unique stay that we thoroughly enjoyed

The owners and family were exceptionally welcoming, friendly and accommodating. The property grounds and the accommodations are excellent. The homemade food was delicious and great value for money. The owner took us on a hike through the beautiful surroundings, through rice fields and plantations, which was one of the highlights of our trip to Bali.

The accommodation has a fan, but no AC, and gets quite damp.

Perfection in beautiful Sidemen

Highly Recommended! My stay at Pondok Masa Depan was so much more than beautiful accommodations. This was an experience that encompassed healing, positive energy and genuine Balinese kindness. I felt so much "at home" connection with the owners and the surrounding land while at the same time enjoying my privacy at my villa with comfortable bed and fluffy pillows, private bathroom and patio with mountain and jungle views. Much gratitude to Ayu for organizing and accompanying me on a variety of local excursions ranging from spiritual to outdoors activity and her husband Bagus for preparing fresh, healthy food in an inviting outdoors setting, either sourced from their own garden or local market in Sidemen.

Thank you Ayu and Bagus for taking us into your beautiful life for the weekend. We really enjoyed Pondon Masa Pendan and the stunning guest house you have built. You have such a spiritual place and it was an amazing experience to have both the chakra reading and then the following healing massage. I slept like a baby afterwards. And thank you Bagus for taking me with you to the market in Pasar Sideman the next morning. What a great market, not to mention the beautiful ride through the Sideman valley to get there. Your cooking is amazing and I felt almost part of your family when you gave me the cooking class and all your family was there too. What a team and what a great family. Thank you so much for this wonderful weekend. It was a real gift. Lots of love and all the best with your sacred little heaven on earth, Clémentine & Simon PS and thank you for letting us bring our small kids too even though you said it might not be a child friendly experience. Ayu et sa famille étaient très accueillants, souriants et attentionnés. Nous avons également adoré Putu qui s’est occupée de nous durant ce séjour. La chambre est très propre et nettoyée tous les jours.

Nous avons apprécié le personnel qui est agréable et a l'écoute ! Le séjour a été vraiment très reposant ! Une multitude d'activités est proposé de quoi bien profiter du séjour et se plonger au maximum dans la culture balinaise (yoga, cours de cuisine, sophrologie, massage, etc) Le restaurant vaut le détour pour manger le soir :) Merci encore au personnel qui est juste exceptionnel et extrêmement gentils !!
