caring staff and comfortable setting made it feel like a home away from home

We loved being literally amidst rice fields, surrounded by traditional farmers, seeing tokay geckos and other wildlife, very friendly villagers and staff. Putu was very welcoming and helpful on Whatsapp even before we arrived to arrange us a driver from Ubud, and he had excellent English and advice for us on arrival, being a local from the village. We even got a complementary upgrade to a quieter, more private room. Thank you to all the staff for your thoughtfulness, care, flexibility and accommodating attitude during our stay. Also the wood and stone materials of the villa were very comfortable and suitable to the natural environment.

The location is down a windy, unsealed road, with a steep drive to go anywhere, so it's a bit daunting in the dark and rain without much scooter experience - be prepared. However, it does look the road will be sealed soon, and it was worth being out of the centre of town for the quieter, less urbanised surroundings. Waffles breakfast option was small and still left me hungry compared to the other breakfast options.

Beautiful and simple

Accomodation respectful of the environment, beautiful garden and kind staff. Appreciated the private yoga lesson in our own patio. Highly recommended to rent a scooter if you have a bit of driving experience. Recommended

Surrounded by rice fields

It’s a very beautiful place, the villa is set in a valley surrounded by rice fields and a river, with paths for trekking and exploring the surroundings. The staff are very friendly, and there are plenty of services that make the stay more comfortable and welcoming.

Around the area, construction is starting, and the location may worsen in the future as more villas are built. They were also constructing a new road, so the daytime noise overlapped with the sounds of nature. We were unlucky to coincide with some families with childrens at the villa who were making a lot of noise and disturbing the peace, but that’s the only negative point worth mentioning.

Hidden gem in Sidemen

-great location in the middle of rice and chili fields - communication was easy with the very friendly staff (via WhatsApp) -you can book activities with help of the hotel or just consult them for transport (we did the rice field walk, which was nice and interesting) - clean pool area with sun beds and towels provided - very nice decorated rooms, with Mosquito nets - breakfast was nice as well (you have to order the day before a la carte) - restaurants serves also good food for dinner and drinks -complementary water in the rooms

- the location is remote , which is great if you are looking for a quiet place, but be aware that there are no restaurants or bars in walking distance. - the included coffee for breakfast was horrible… there is the possibility to order a coffee made with an Italian machine, but you have to pay extra for that… - a hanger or something to put your clothes on, would be great ;)

A peaceful stay surrounded by beautiful nature, with great food and warm, attentive staff.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel in Sidemen, Bali. The property is very clean, peaceful, and offers a good amount of privacy. The onsite restaurant was excellent, with plenty of delicious options and no need to go elsewhere for meals. The staff were incredibly kind and made us feel genuinely welcomed and well cared for throughout our stay. The setting is lush, quiet, and a perfect place to slow down and enjoy the beauty of Sidemen. We would definitely stay here again.

Comfortable and quite retreat in beautiful surroundings

We had a room in the main building with a balcony with a wonderful view.

Check-in was tedious. It has to be done online with all details required like passport number and home address for all guests. Most of the information is available in booking.com anyway and could be transferred automatically or by the staff.

Peaceful stay

The accommodation is in a delightful setting among rice paddies and vegetable gardens with distant lights and Balinese music from the surrounding hills. Two double rooms are upstairs overlooking the good sized and refreshingly cool swimming pool with the remaining accommodation in seven (from memory) villas scattered around the garden. There's a choice of two dining areas near the pool and upstairs rooms attached to the main building of the establishment. As pleasurable as it all was I would have preferred a less noisy air conditioner, a not so firm mattress and the pillows really need to have more resistant bulk. Also I look forward to the upgrade of the last section of road in.

The pool water is warm and very good. The place is quiet and the service and food are very good. If you want to relax and unwind, this is a good place.

Breathtaking location. Very comfortable rooms. Great staff who do everything to make your stay enjoyable and surprise you in their hospitality with small details. Local guide though rice fields. Putu and his crew really love Sidemen and share their passion with the guests. Thank you so much!

Nice stay

Quiet and nice area, recent and well maintained rooms. If you rent a motorbike it is a really good place to be immersed in the middle of the nature.

Service could be improved. The staff is nice but not really professional. They forget things, takes long to get what you ask for etc so - even if I appreciate the slow and chill Bali rhyme - it becomes a bit annoying after few days.

What a gem of a villa in Sidemen

Such a beautiful romantic villa with gorgeous views and a beautiful room. The staff was friendly and genuine, made the rainy day so much more comforting. Did not try the lovely pool as it was raining buckets and cold. Loved the room and the bed.

Great place between the rice fields

It is beautiful situated in the centre of rice fields. All is new and the pool is great. The people are friendly and that makes also the stay. We can recommend this place for a stay for a few days.

Most underrated property which provides true country-side experience

1.Excellent location surrounded by rice fields Great country-side wooden villa with decent sound insulation (better than others). 2.Swimming pool is well designed for kids and adults and the property is very well maintained. 3.Since this is a good country-side property, it is very remote to other town areas. Everything you need is maybe 10-15 mins away by car/scooter from the property but the hosts are very supportive and can arrange anything you need. 4.The property owner and staff were very very friendly. The owner was kind enough to show us around himself along with his staff and his personal attention to guests is commendable and our check-in experience was excellent. 5.Since the property was far away from our driver's home, the owner and staff were kind enough to offer stay to our driver at a very nominal charge. 6.We prefer Vegetarian food. Rere & Wayan helped us with everything in their power to arrange the ingredients needed to cook that and enjoyed food with us. 7.Even though the property is right in the heart of rice fields, the cleanliness and hygiene was so good that I haven't encountered a single mosquito even outside in the dining area. 8.We got the room on the first floor and the view from above is much better. 9.Internet and WiFi connectivity was great and Netflix was pre-logged in by staff to enjoy TV. 10.They provided 2 small water bottles per day per room which is standard or better across Bali. 11.The property is very peaceful and silent and there were no loud speaker noises or roosters to be heard in the morning. 12.This property is very new (just 3 months old). So, you actually get what you see in the photos. Staff is very eager to fulfill your requirements.

1.Since this is a country-side property right next to the river, everything you need is a bit far from the property and this can be a deal breaker for someone who is not looking for an authentic country-side experience. 2.Maybe heater capacity is a bit small. You have to wait 10-15 mins between showers to wait for the water to get heated. 3.The breakfast served was good but the portion was very small. Across Bali, hotels offer Fruit dish, juice, eggs, pancakes, toast, nasi goreng for breakfast but here, you can choose only one of them. Suggestion to the property: I know it's a standard practice across Bali to charge a certain amount to refill a big bottle of water from a water dispenser, I suggest you extend the goodwill and provide unlimited drinking water for free of charge. On an average, a person will refill a maximum of 1 big bottle per day and that cost is nothing in comparison with the room price. Offer an all-you-can-eat breakfast. Extend the goodwill and get more 10/10 ratings.

Great place to spend my last night in Bali.

Great area of Bali, where you can feel close to everyday life. This is a new venue and everything is comfortable and clean (after five weeks of travelling around Bali, I have seen my share of not so clean rooms and bathrooms).

Feels like coming home…

… and indeed it‘s a bit like this. The owners property is behind the house of his parents and you walk in through their house. Mom likes when people do that and she’s like you wanna hug her all the time. It‘s the love for the detail that makes this place very special and unique. The rooms are very clean and the bed is cozy. They even have their own water well! We loved especially the friendly nature of the staff and the owner. Had some really nice and interesting conversations. Thank you all for the great time!

The place is quite new and staff is still learning. If there is something missing, just ask. They are more than kind to help!

Luxe verblijf in een Garden Villa tussen de rijstvelden nabij Sidemen

We verbleven in de Garden Villa met een prachtige openlucht badkamer met mooi uitzicht, fijn bed, een heerlijk zwembad en lekker gegeten! Mooie wandelingen gemaakt, ter plekke scooter gehuurd en wat verdere tochten langs rijstvelden en naar een waterval gemaakt. Kubu Sakian ligt een eindje buiten Sidemen, maar daarom heerlijk rustig in de rijstvelden.

Un havre de paix

Le personnel est aux petits soins, mention spéciale a Eka qui est adorable de l'accueil, au départ. Merci. La piscine est somptueuse, différentes profondeur, jusqu'à 1m80. Le restaurant et petit déjeuner est très pratique et bon. Le jardin est magnifique, vu sur les rizières. Une SDB fermée sans fourmis :)

La chambre manque d'isolation, nous avons rapidement compris que nos voisins étaient français et que Mme était contente de sa douche chaude 😂 La route un petit peu cahotique pour venir. Certains chauffeurs demandent un tip avant même d'être venu nous chercher. Mais dans l'ensemble nous avons toujours trouvé une voiture.

Un oasis niché au cœur des rizières.

La douceur, la qualité de l’accueil. Le personnel est réactif, avenant sans être oppressant. Le jardin est aménagé avec goût et très bien entrenue. Les repas sont copieux et très bons. Un excellent rapport qualité prix, un endroit qui méritent vraiment d’être connu.

Fijn, maar niet de goede locatie

Ontzettend schoon en een mooi complex. Ontbijt was ook goed.

De locatie was erg ver van de vele restaurants. De route is ook niet voor iedereen weggelegd. Het is een route die erg stijl is met vele bochten. De laatste minuten is ook over een weg wat niet geasfalteerd is. Je kunt dus alleen zelfstandig weg met de scooter als je hier echt ervaring mee hebt.
