The bungalow was beautiful, cool even without Aircon, the mosquito net was a great addition.
Staff were super helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good and could be served in the room or in the dining area
Access to the villa needs repairing as one step was damaged and another step was always underwater, realise this is all due to the huge amount of rain they have had in Bali.

We had booked for 4 nights but on arrival the airconditioning was not working. It was December and hot and humid so this was a problem. Staff offered a fan for the night, and arranged for a technician to attend and repair. Unfortunately from that point on things got a little complicated. The technician was not coming and no plan to repair was in place. The management were not truthfully with the situation. Staying in a room with no A/C wasn't a option so management offered a full refund which we took.
If the A/C worked what would it be like. The view is amazing. The villa is great and you can enjoy the views from the bedroom and balcony. Breakfast was brought to the balcony which was lovely. It was great value for money, close to the centre of Sideman. Good flat walking options with a range of food options all priced fairly. Contrary to what the locals have you to believe Grab App worked well with no problems at all. The bathroom was OK, water does go everywhere when you shower but that's not really a problem. If you wanted to stay in Sidemen this would be a good option to consider.
The fact that the A/C wasn't working was bad luck. No-one could predict this event. The disappointedly part come with how it was managed. The staff were not open and truthfully, management were nowhere to be seen, instead leaving the staff with little or no direction. In the end it was somewhat stressful until the refund had been processed and we had found other accommodation.

Fabulous day at this gorgeous property. It was quiet and very relaxed. Super friendly staff and at the time we were the only people in the resort so it was a real treat.
The big fellas are fabulous, lots of room amazing views. We did lose hot water before 12 hours but the staff quickly fix this.

The view from the room was amazing. The big windows around the room to allow plenty of natural light but blinds that allowed the light to still brighten the room. The staff were great and I liked the accessibility via WhatsApp.
The mattress needed an upgrade. The bath is too big to fill, the water doesn’t have a powerful enough flow to fill the bath at a normal rate, the water drains a little with the plug down and the hot water ran out after 5 minutes which by this point was a puddle in the bath.

What a wonderful place. The view from our large balcony was stunning. We were lucky enough to see Mt Agung every morning and we enjoyed sitting on our balcony looking at the view. The room was spacious, very clean and the staff were friendly and attentive. The breakfast was substantial. There were plenty of restaurants and warungs close by. I would definitely recommend this place.
Nothing. All was excellent.

Amazing views and lovely staff.
The villa we stayed in looked like it hadn’t been touched for years. The door did not lock with a key at all so we were told it would be fine to leave open. Everything smelt musty and old and did not seem like anything had been cleaned for a while. With the outside/inside design the place was infested with bugs/insects and massive geckos crawling around everywhere.
Asked to change mosquito netting around bed as was covered in some black sand looking stuff and when we came back this was just brushed off and not changed then also our stuff being covered in it.
Kitchen amenities didn’t work, fridge was not cold or on.
Lights were so dim and hardly any of them that we could barely see when it got dark, making it so unpleasant with the insects.
We ended up having to leave that night and find another hotel.
This was Pia room.

View is outstanding when Mt Agung shows her face, sadly we had lot's of cloud. I did look out the window about 3am and could see the Mountain in the moonlight, very special.
Let's remember that Kubu Tani is a Home stay not a 4 star hotel so this review is very subjective.
The location is simply breathtaking and for that reason alone I would come back. Breakfast is satisfactory and served in their open breakfast room or on your balcony. Rooms are clean with a very comfy bed, staff are typical of the delightful caring Balinese people, all smiles. The pool is lovely too.
About 5 mins walk to a number of Warungs and resurants, we didnt have time to try them all. No pubs or clubs here just peace and quiet and the sounds of nature! Perfection.
Hot water in the shower is tepid at best but we are in the tropics so not too much of a problem. There is a rather unpleasant smell that comes from the water trap in the floor of the bathroom and toilet. We found out that pouring some clean water down the drains fixed that.
None of this would put me off coming back

The view from our room was spectacular, Mt Agung, a beautiful green valley. We gazed at it all for hours.
Our room was lovely, spacious, comfortable. Spotlessly clean. A large bathroom with all you need.
The hotel is an easy stroll to lovely restaurants and the small village and all it has to offer. Staff were attentive, communicated well and happy to help with anything we needed.
We had to leave !

It was our third stay at Kubu Tani so it has become a special place. The scenery is beautiful with views of Agung each morning. The staff are always obliging and friendly. The villas are huge and traditionally decorated. The hotel provides options for seeing the are. We took the scooter tour, one scooter for each of us with a driver. We visited the spectacular Gembleng waterfall, the Yellow Bridge, beautiful rice paddies and enjoyed the rural environment. Our drivers Kadek and Nyoman were amazing.

Very spacious 2 storey villa overlooking the rice fields, garden and pool. Bed was comfortable, outdoor bathroom was fun, the staff friendly and Deni the massage lady was excellent. The pool was very nice and no other people in it when we were there. Many lovely restaurants nearby. Breakfast was very good. Communication via WhatsApp was good to arrange transport to our next destination.
The steep windy stairs were a challenge to carry gear up and down. Also to go to the bathroom during the night. We invited friends for lunch which took an hour to get to our table.
Unfortunately Mt Agung remained behind clouds the whole 3 days we were there. We saw the peak once for a few minutes

The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming. The location is a hidden gem—amazing Mountain and rice field views . It’s also conveniently close to restaurants, and overall it’s a great value for the price.

We wanted to stay somewhere that had views of the rice fields and mountains. We had both a villa and room, the room had a better view the villa more space and an amazing outdoor bathroom. The rooms were clean and staff so friendly. The location is close to restaurants. We would love to come back.

The view was sensational, the house we stayed in was so spacious for two people. We loved the pool. Breakfast was generous and delicious and was nice to have facilities in our room even though we did not choose to cook with so many great restaurants close by. Had one of the most delicious meals ever just a short walk down the street.

Everyone in the staff was really friendly and helpful. The employees were really flexible and arranged everything we needed really quickly. The room was really nice and the view from the balcony was amazing.. And there was air conditioning in our room, which was a nice surprise since it wasn't mentioned. This hotel is well worth the money.

Excellent breakfast, very nice and helpful Team to repare all needs to be repared.
Not at all maintained. Stores are the oldest you could find, the bathtub drain was out, plumbing was over, and as everything has been built from bad quality all is getting old very quickly although the building is new. Beautiful terrace with a magnificient view but not any confortable chair.

Our very spacious villa had an uninterrupted view across the rice paddies to Mt Agung. The accommodation was comfortable … great bed …. and quiet, and while located close to many restaurants and the village of Sidemen, was exceptionally quiet.
Perhaps it’s good to know there is a steep spiral staircase from the living area and bathroom downstairs to the bedroom upstairs. Carrying large bags up would be extremely difficult.
We enjoyed the pool and the wonderful Balinese massages available at Kubu Tani. Every morning an excellent breakfast was served.
Best of all were the staff who could not do enough to please us, always with a friendly smile. They were, to a person, delightful.
We loved our stay and would readily return.

The view of Mount Agung is absolutely magical, and the location is truly exceptional. The staff was really lovely and kind. The pool was quite pleasant.
The villa itself was beautiful, with traditional charm, but it was quite run down and in need of significant upgrades. Much of the wood was damaged by termites, leaving residue scattered throughout the space. Some areas were dusty, the hot water didn’t work, and we found old rugs tucked away behind closets. Unfortunately, the food was also disappointing. We requested sambal tomat—something we're very familiar with, as my partner is Balinese—but were served a version mixed with ketchup, which was far from authentic.

Kubu Tani offers breathtaking views over the Sidemen.
The resort is very well maintained, the pools, the gardens, the decorations, all details are thought of and the guests have a lot of privacy by helpful staff.
if you're looking to relax and enjoy the most amazing views this is a place not to miss.
Thank you for everything Bapak Kadek, Bapak Nyoman, and young team !!!! See you next trip☺

The view from the two balconies in the villa we rented was exceptional, with rice fields and lush landscape with the volcano in the distance. The villa was big, almost too big, for me and my husband, with a kitchen, living, bedroom and two bathrooms. The garden area around the hotel was very nice and green with lots of flowers and fruit trees. Good breakfast on demand and small but beautiful infinity pool.

Perfect homestay in the heart of Sideman.
Great value for money, friendly service and good location. Easy to find and walk around sideman, near to all the nice restaurants etc.... Very clean accommodation too.
Perfect for a few nights stay whilst in Sidemen.
7.0 / 10.0
Staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and large and the views were absolutely spectacular. The location was also excellent, within walking distance to all Sideman restaurants.
The room was a little overpriced for what it was, especially since we were told when we arrived that breakfast wasn't included, contrary to the website (perhaps this was a misunderstanding). The facilities are a little more basic and dated than in the photos, and there were small bugs in the pool that seemed to bite so we were wary of spending time there.

The view! The view over the volcano is simply the best we had during two week long trip. The place is also pretty special - located on top of the slope with a view down the jungle. Room was huge, bathroom too. Bed was ok, but the mosquito net was not as good as at other hotels - it was small and was kinda difficult not to push it open so that mosquitos could fly in. It was noticeable cooler outside at night than in other parts of Bali, probably because of being a little bit higher in the mountains. Overall the stay had it's unique point in the view, and the swimming pool with the view and closeness too the jungle. Definitely can recommend and would come again. Also the massage service was excellent. Really helps out with muscle pain. Neighborhood is also really good - there's plenty of cafes and warungs in walking proximity. It is in a remote area, but if you appreciate the views, closeness to the nature and the sounds of nature then definitely it's for you. Also I'd recommend it for people who like walking as in opposite to Ubud, there is not much traffic in the vicinity and there's plenty of sidewalks, so it's actually pleasant and enjoyable to walk around.
It's getting a little bit ran down. Moped that we rent was a bit old and broken. Mosquito net a bit too small and wrong shape.

Nice pool with view, we always had the pool to ourselves. Our villa had an even better view and terrace to eat breakfast or watch the sun set with a beer. Good location, could walk to other warungs/guesthouses for dinner
The villa we stayed in is quite worn/tired, but I think there are newer rooms/villas so we can only speak for ours. Simple upgrades would make such a difference, like clean/new shower heads that don’t spray in all directions, a new toilet seat, new couch cushions, and unblocking the drains/sinks. The breakfast was very small and we never saw anyone eating in the restaurant so it didn’t seem like a popular option. I thought overall it wasn’t great value for the condition.

Everything about Kubu Tani was incredible. Amazing views across the rice terraces to mt Agung. Incredible friendly staff, delicious food and walking distance to some of the best places to eat and drink in the area. There was nothing we didn’t love about staying here!

The staff were truly wonderful. So pleasant and helpful with anything that we needed!
We didn’t realize that it was an open air concept so we were often encountering all kinds of critters. The rooms are a little outdated but still comfortable! Overall, a lovely stay!

This is surely the best view in Sidemen! Waking up and seeing such a view feels like you are in paradise. Huge villa with two terraces, you can order breakfast to your terrace which is very nice and convenient. Breakfasts were simple but tasty. The staff was very nice and helpful. We recommend taking a massage, we took it 2 times as it was a perfection!
The villas have a huuuuge potential, but almost everything inside seems old, dirty and not well maintained. Almost all cupboards are full of old, dirty things that shouldn't be there. There is also one cupboard with half empty alcohol bottles left by previous guests (those may have been there for years already). The mosquito net was dirty, sofas inside the house as well. And all this is not the worst - the worst are termites, everywhere, all over. We got the villa cleaned and 30 minutes after it was already full of termites dirt. If the villa was clean, I would rank it 10 as the view is out of this world. But it NEEDS to be cleaned neatly and thoroughly.

this place is heaven on earth and has the best views in the sidemen valley. not to mention that Neoman was an incredibly special host who made us feel so welcome and told us all about the Balinese way of life. we originally planned to stay 3 nights and extended to 7 and I wish we had done more!
it was so perfect. quiet, peaceful, gorgeous sunrises.
