Absolutely unforgettable stay !

Absolutely unforgettable stay – WOW! The view is simply breathtaking: endless rice fields with the mountain right in front of you, and an infinity pool facing this incredible scenery. Waking up to this every day felt unreal. The family hosting the villa is incredibly welcoming and kind — true Balinese hospitality at its best. Every morning we were spoiled with a delicious breakfast. Wow! They even took care of our laundry, helped us with everything we needed, and scooter rental is available directly on site, which makes everything so easy. One afternoon when it was raining, they surprised us with a hot coffee and a homemade cake for afternoon tea — such a thoughtful and heartwarming gesture. Truly unforgettable. There are also two warungs just next door where you can enjoy amazing food every day, and they even deliver to the villa. Daily housekeeping, everything perfectly clean, peaceful, beautiful… honestly, everything was WOW. We would come back without hesitation. Highly, highly recommended!

The most peaceful and scenic stay

The homestay was in the most beautiful location with breathtaking views. It is a little out of the main town but the staff offers drop off and pick up services on their scooters. The holiday home was clean, very spacious and the beds were incredibly comfortable. Breakfast was delish and the staff were so friendly. Highly recommend.

Makna Homestay and Spa was a real escape - spacious room and bathroom, very clean and comfortable. The staff was most welcoming and caring! Komang, Juni and others are just incredibly gentle people who make your stay very special. Amazing breakfast. Spa available on site. And important to mention - the most incredible view you can imagine and get fully immersed in. Small infinity pool and lounge chairs to enjoy the view and sunrises and fireflies in the rice fields upon twilight. It is magical! It's tucked in quiet road, further away from the street with luxury hotels. I had a very relaxing stay at Makna and I would come back again.

Blending with nature in a peaceful and welcoming Place

I originally came to stay for three nights and ended up extending for two more. The atmosphere of the property is truly magical and peaceful. Koko and the entire staff are incredibly kind, sweet, and attentive - smiles and warmth overflow throughout this place. The view from my room was outstanding, and I was able to rest deeply during my stay. Breakfast was prepared with so much love that it truly felt like being at home. The room was very clean, beautifully decorated, and the bed was absolutely amazing! So comfortable that I hardly wanted to leave the room 😊 I also had a full-body oil massage with Koko, and it was perfect, incredibly relaxing. I absolutely loved it! Overall, it was more than a pleasant stay; it was nourishing and memorable. I will definitely come back in the future and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful and welcoming experience.

Absolutely gorgeous!

The property is located just by the rice fields and the view is spectacular in a way that touches your heart. Everything in the room is thought to the minimal details to cuddle you and the bed is amazing. The best part though is Komang and the team. They are so caring and she helped me organize trips to the main attractions as well as a guided tour through the rice fields and rafting which I truly recommend. It is an amazing place to stay, I wish I had stayed longer. Thank you so much for the magic!

Wonderful people!

The best thing about Makna was definitely the people. Komang and her staff were wonderful and attentive - often anticipating our every need before we even asked. Very clean and comfortable room. The breakfast was very generous and delicious! Taking in the most incredible views from the verandah was a real highlight!

A tiny bit far outside of town but easy with the motorbike and there are some warungs close by.

Paradise 💫

From the moment you arrive, you feel like part of the family. Komang is such a warm and welcoming host, and her staff and family are equally lovely. She truly goes above and beyond to make sure you’re comfortable and well taken care of. The location is peaceful and beautiful, perfect for unwinding. Breakfast is delicious every morning, and relaxing by the pool with a book quickly became a highlight of my stay. The rooms are spacious, clean, and equipped with everything you might need. One small suggestion would be to add a mirror in the bedroom, like a small get ready desk, so guests don’t always have to use the bathroom one. Overall, it’s the kind of place that instantly feels like home. A wonderful stay in Sidemen, my favourite throughout my Bali travels. I would happily return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Amazing family and stay

The homestay is really nice, the room was clean, Nice and you find everything you need. The hosts are amazing!!!! They are so cute, prevenant, they really like you to feel like at home: and I felt like that!

Great location, views and room albeit with a less than genuine owner.

The homestay itself is quite lovely, the room was huge, the air conditioning is very powerful, the water pressure is great, the room is also very clean. The pool and rooms also face the stunning views of the rice terrace and greenery. The breakfast is also plentiful and tasty.

The only downside is our experience with the massage and booking a car to the airport. For context, we had booked for 5 PM for a 90-minute session of massage and massage + scrub. As we arrived early to the room to rest they had requested whether we can start earlier, and so we did. We started around 4.45 PM and the sessions was a bit rushed and finished at 6 PM (that makes it 75 minutes), but what was weird is because I was staying at the homestay and got the scrub, I was told to go take a shower in my room and had to walk out with a towel half-naked instead of them wiping the scrub down because the session had finished. They likely wanted to squeeze in another appointment for another couple. We got a small discount but if they had just told us the truth, I would have been fine with just a 60-minute session. As for the taxi to the airport, we were told the day before it would cost 400K, but on the day it was changed to 450K apparently due to “traffic jam”, so that was not accounted for in the original price. Not like we wanted to hunt down for another taxi driver so we just paid.

Our nicest stay in Bali!

Makna Homestay is the most amazing place we had in Bali... Everything, from the pool, the view, the location and of course, our great hosts, made our stay unforgettable. Don't hesitate to stay a bit longer than you planned at first : the Sideman countryside has much more to offer than a short walk on the ricefields, there are many other walks to discover! Bed was comfortable and the breakfast was really great :)

We had the immense pleasure of staying here as a family, having booked the entire place — and what a truly unforgettable experience it was. The property is absolutely stunning. Every detail has been carefully chosen and arranged with such taste, elegance, and harmony. It’s a place where you instantly feel peace and beauty all around you. But what truly made our stay so special was the incredible hospitality of Komang and her lovely family. We have never experienced such warmth, kindness, and attention to detail. Amazing place!

We had an amazing 3-day stay and were truly pampered from start to finish. We were picked up from the airport in the evening, and even when our flight times changed, it was handled smoothly without any problems. Our hosts took us to the breathtaking Mother Temple and a beautiful, quiet waterfall that felt like a hidden paradise. The area is surrounded by stunning nature, and there are plenty of local warungs nearby where you can enjoy delicious food. The accommodation itself is spotlessly clean and well taken care of, which made our stay even more comfortable. What makes this place truly special is that it’s a genuine family-run business where local values and traditions are embraced and respected. The warmth, care, and hospitality we experienced felt very authentic and heartfelt. We highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Bali. If we return, we definitely won’t skip staying here again!

Views of Agung and Siderman Valley with gracious host Komang

We loved the view, the pool, and watching the locals in the fields. Sunrise with Mt Agung stunning. Siderman Walk was just below us in the valley. Best of all was our host Komang always with smile 🌺 Treated us like family, gave a beautiful massage in the spa room, and assisted with every request with such hospitality. Truly an amazing view, well-furnished, and the highlight was the wonderful caretaker Komang. She was very attentive and provided amazing service. It was a pleasure to stay there for the weekend and we honestly hope to go back soon. Sidemen has lived up to the hype and then some!

Vi likte godt personalet, Komang,Koko og Koma de var veldig hyggelige og kjørte oss rundt i byen. Stedet var fantastisk og hadde utsikt rett inn i en stor risåker. De fant og meldte oss på en cooking class som var fantastisk.

Estupenda estancia en Sidemen.

Ubicación en plena naturaleza. Vista espectacular a los arrozales de Sidemen y Monte Agung. Amplio tamaño del apartamento de dos dormitorios y dos baños. Terraza exterior con vistas maravillosas y gran amplitud de la misma. Se disfruta muchísimo. Cama muy cómoda. La piscina está fenomenal con vistas a los arrozales. Desayunos buenos y muy puntuales. Personal muy servicial y amable y dispuesto a ayudar con lo que necesites. Buena recomendación de restaurantes. La casa ofrece masajes adicionalmente.

Todo nos pareció estupendo. Solo algunos detalles a tener en cuenta como que las habitaciones debido a la construcción balinesa no están aisladas acústicamente al no estar cerrados los tabiques con el techo. El baño es semiabierto por lo que pueden entrar pequeños animales (geckos, avispas…), nada importante.

Absolument tout! Que ce soit le lieu, l’accessibilité, la propreté, mais surtout et c’est ce qui fait tout le charme, la famille qui s’en occupe! La chambre est incroyable, un vrai lit de princesse. La salle de bain est magnifique, sans parler de la vue! Les petits déjeuner sont très copieux et cuisinés avec amour! Les sourires vont dans tous les sens, ils prennent soin de vous! Il n’y aurait pas assez de ligne ici pour exprimer TOUT ce que j’ai aimé ! : le lieu ( cadre ) l’accueil super chaleureux ! La beauté et propreté ! La piscine , le calme , l’accueil ! Les BIG déjeuner de dingue ! Les excursions proposées et le gros cœur de KOMANG! Bien plus qu’une hôte j’ai eu l’impression d’être reçu dans ma Famille ! Dur de partir - dur de te quitter merveilleuse et douce komong qui gère si bien le français ! Et les massage sur place c’est du luxe avec vue sur les rizières ! Pffff ce séjour était parfait ! Situé proche du KOLI KOLI et de la connu « RICE TERRASSE « la « ville » est accessible à 15 min en marchant - location de scoot possible et son mari fait aussi le taxi pour votre hôtel d’après ! Kurz vor Anreise würde mitgeteilt, dass Buchung storniert ist, Zimmer anderweitig vergeben. Nach Rückfrage dann doch möglich. Bei Anreise falsches Zimmer erhalten, angewöhnt, muffig in all Ecken und verschmutzt. Konnten ein anderes Hotel noch finden. Betrag zurück erhalten, wobei die Gebühren auf ihrer Seite einbehalten wollten. Würde dann ausbezahlt. Das Beschreibung entspricht nicht der Realität. Nicht Empfehlenswert.

Détente au coeur des rizières

Komang a été une hôte formidable. La chambre est exactement comme décrite sur le site. Le cadre est juste superbe avec une vue sur les rizières verdoyantes. C'est un véritable retour au sources. Le logement est situé légerment à l'écart du centre mais tout est très rapidement accessible en scooter. Pour notre part nous n'en n'avions pas et Komang nous à très gentiment fait visiter de le marché le matin et nous à déposé a notre cours de cuisine l'après midi. Les petits déjeuners sont aussi beaux que bons ( et très copieux). Merci encore Komang pour cet incroyable séjour. Suksma.

Super!

Prachtig uitzicht en een heerlijke kamer - en bed. De familie en vrouw zijn erg vriendelijk, waardoor ik me gelijk welkom voelde. Echt een aanrader als je in Sidemen wil verblijven. Twee warungs op loopafstand (allebei onder de 5 minuten) waar je lekker kan eten. Verder zijn er niet veel faciliteiten in Sidemen.

De wifi deed het niet goed, maar misschien ook logisch als je tussen al het mooie groen zit

Calme au milieu des rizières

Komang est adorable, très aidante et vous aide à tout organiser (scooter, trek, taxis, etc), et pense à tout. La terrasse est très agréable, avec la petite piscine (partagée pour 2 chambres) au milieu des rizières, au calme. La localisation est un peu en dehors de Sidemen, ce qui est agréable et apaisant, malgré tout proche de la balade des rizières. Spa à l’intérieur avec vue, au top.

La salle de bain (et donc chambre) qui reste très humide, et un peu sombre, mais rien de bien grave :) À noter, pas de restaurant dans l’hôtel mais plusieurs très proches à pied

Perfekt und liebevoll eingerichtete Villen.Eine fantastische Aussicht auf die Reisterrassen und eine Betreuung, die kompetenter und warmherziger nicht sein könnte!! Dazu ein wunderbares, individuell wählbares Frühstück auf der Poolterrasse. Unbedingt schnell reservieren, bevor dieses „versteckte Paradies“ mit einem ausgezeichneten Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ausgebucht ist! Diese Bewertung ist echt und absolut NICHT übertrieben! Wir hätten gerne eine -12- statt der maximalen -10- vergeben! Sampai jumpa lagi!!
