Stunning location and quality accomodation

Very stylish room (we had the upstairs room) with amazing views over the new pool and gardens (and volcano too). Very well appointed . Lovely breakfast and had a divine massage in the garden Bure . Very helpful staff. Loved the retro couch (see photo) so cute! 1 km to little shops and Sideman Villa restaurant walkable) and 4 km to main town (which u also walked very happily.. saw lots including a festival procession and silver workshop. Didn’t see many other tourists at all.

We ate in the first night (yummy but simple food) .. so I’d recommend you don’t rely on that for all nights.

Beautiful views...

Large room & ensuite overlooking the pool, rice fields & mountains, the view is outstanding. Room was better than expected, staying in a rural area. Friendly staff on hand to help with any requests. Short drive to the main village of Sideman. Good place to unwind after Ubud.

Wont come back

The view is absolutely amazing and the pool area is beautiful — that was definitely the highlight of our stay.

Unfortunately, the rest wasn’t as good. The food in the restaurant was disappointing, and most of the time the receptionist wasn’t around because they were handling other tasks. The windows in the room aren’t fully covered, so lizards, ants, and other bugs easily come inside. We were also overcharged for a taxi — the hotel charged 200k for a round trip, telling us there was no GoGrab service available. Later, we found out there actually is GoGrab, and the same trip costs only 60k both ways.

Be careful with the entrance path and not suitable if scared of insects and animals in your room.

The environment is quiet and beautiful. The staff is really good. The room was good and the bathroom was very nice and clean.

The entry is quite risky because the access path is very narrow and difficult (a tourist felt during our stay and broke his wrist). The door and window don't close very well and lots of insects and little animals came into the room (ants, asian wasps, a centipede and a frog came in just two nights). The pool wasn't as clean as could be desirable.

Comfortable stay, though not perfect

The view of the rice terraces from room 3 is stunning, the breakfast is delicious (though the orange juice doesn’t contain much actual orange), and the staff are friendly – they even called a taxi for us when I couldn’t find another solution.

• The accommodation is about 200 meters from the main road, and it’s only accessible by scooter or on foot, so you have to drag your suitcase along a rough path there and back. • We stayed for 3 nights, but housekeeping only came on the first day. They didn’t replace the towels or restock the toilet paper — I had to ask for it the next day.

I loved my short and sweet stay here. It was so peaceful and relaxing.

It’s a personal preference of course, but the pillows were a little too hard for me personally to have a comfortable sleep and unfortunately for some reason I only had a few minutes worth of hot water in the shower - but that wasn’t a big problem at all.

Idylicc stay in Sidemen

Located on top of some beautiful rice terraces the view is just unbeatable. Really nice pool perfect for relaxing after a day exploring. The staff was super friendly and helpful and they arranged for us the bike rental and massages, that were amazing.

Pure peace and breathtaking views with perfect hospitality at Ume Dukuh.

My stay at Ume Dukuh was absolutely amazing. So often you read reviews that say “great” or “lovely,” and then hope the place lives up to it—but this one genuinely exceeded all my expectations. The online reviews don’t lie: this place is truly special. The surroundings are serene, and the people are incredibly kind. Every morning, I woke up in the middle of peaceful rice fields, watching farmers at work and neighbors greeting me with warm smiles. It felt like paradise. The pool is brand new and perfectly maintained, and the entire accommodation deserves a solid 10 out of 10. At Ume Dukuh, they truly understand what hospitality means. Nothing was missing in my room—there were extra power outlets, a pen, drinking water, a safe, clean and wonderfully soft beds—everything had been thought of. What made it even more special were the people. The staff at Ume Dukuh are genuinely kind and always ready to help. I could rent a scooter, get a ride into the center, or ask for anything I needed. There’s so much to explore in Sidemen, and I truly hope that everyone who visits Ume Dukuh and the area treats the surroundings and locals with the respect they deserve. Thank you so much to the entire Ume Dukuh team—you made me feel safe, welcome, and at home. I wish you all the very best and hope to return one day!

It's really quiet, the rooms are very comfortable and designed well. Immaculate views, though not facing the rice terrace but it is still beautiful. There is a pool getting built but didnt manage to use it yet. Had an amazing time, thank you for your hospitality.

A relaxing oasis with stunning views

I liked everything about my stay. The room was spotlessly clean and beautifully styled with very good attention to detail, including high quality furniture and finishes. It's only recently opened so everything is new. The room opens onto the most beautiful vista where you can watch beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Perfectly relaxing. The restaurant serves a nice selection of tasty, well presented meals (owner a great chef!) and the restaurant also has the most fantastic views. Well located in easy distance of the sites of Sideman. Scooter arranged on site. I didn't want to leave and will return when next in Bali - easily the most beautiful place I have stayed on my three week holiday in Bali.

Modern bungalow with the rice field and jungle views

I loved everything in this accommodation. First of all the views from the bungalow were breathtaking. It’s located middle of the rice fields where locals are farming everyday. On the background you can see hills and jungle. You must see it yourself! Second the staff is amazing. They go over the top to make sure you’re going to have a good time. There is a little onsite restaurant and the food is so delicious. They have a laundry service and they can take you to places with an additional cost if you don’t have your own scooter. They even prepared me some food when I was leaving to Mount Batur trek early in the morning. The bungalow is modern and clean. You can bath while admiring the views. There is a mosquito net which gives you peaceful sleep. You can chill on the big terrace too. Bed sheets were clean and smelled good. The whole bungalow felt luxurious.

Accommodation offers tour packages around Sidemen but the prices are higher what you can get booking them by yourself. You can’t really avoid some little insects coming into room because it’s middle of the jungle. Hotel informs their guests well about this and are always ready to help remove them. Other than these things I don’t find anything to complain about. I enjoyed my 3 nights stay in this place so much!

The property is charming and the room is big and modern. All facilities new and clean

Location …. It s actually in the middle of no where. Only convenient if you are travelling in the area and need to rest one night. Otherwise nothing to do close-by. Staff are all young and forget half of the services, recommendations or even bring you something different to what you ordered at the restaurant. Need to control everything you ask for and claim in case of errors which happens more than what i would expect when you have only 3 customers to take care of.

Nice homestay next to rice terraces. Staff is super friendly and helpful, the rooms are comfortable and spacious and whole place around the homestay is calm. The place offers breakfast and also has options for lunch and dinner. There are only 4 rooms (2 with balcony and 2 on the ground) so if you want a balcony view i suggest you write to homestay before about it.

Location is a bit off but you can rent scooter or walk around.

Ume Dukuh Home is fantastic

The staff is very friendly and welcoming. They have a restaurant which is a big up! The rooms are clean and cozy, the balcony and the view with the rice terrace is something you wont forget anytime soon. :) Sideman is a very good place to visit, you get better insight to the everday life of Balinese people. Absolutely recommended.

Gorgeous view of Sidemen countryside

The balcony and view were gorgeous, couldn't think of a more beautiful place to chill out. The staff were really lovely and very helpful, we really enjoyed meeting the owner who very kindly gave us a lift a few places. Room was exactly as described, clean, with a comfortable bed.

As you're in the middle of the countryside it is a little loud with animal noises etc so if you're a light sleeper I'd bring ear plugs but it's no big deal

The place is really quiet although it is near a busy road. The view is AMAZING ,like wallpaper. The room is big and comfortable, the bathroom as well. It looks like the place is really new. the staff is very polite and friendly ,the kitchen waited for us although we were late.

The view is magnificent but it needs few improvements.

The view is magnificent, you see real bali village life, mountains and jungle. The place and room was clean, I loved the wooden furniture and the sofas were very comfortable. We didn’t expect AC, but I guess they recently installed it and I have to say, even Sidemen has milder climate, still it was needed and appreciated. Also, good location to explore Sidemen area.

Even I was writing via booking when to expect us, and I sent official order to rent a bike from the day we arrive, it looked like for a moment like they were not expecting us and the scooter wasn’t ready. we had to wait for hours till the evening till it finally came. Then the heavy rain started so we didn’t use it that day at all and we lost half day… ☹️ Moreover and this could be subjective but still, we didn’t enjoy the food prepared by the stuff… it was kind of tasteless, we ordered Nasi Goreng and Gado Gado and we had much better in other warungs around. I think this place has great potential to be great, what I would kindly suggest for the owner, to train the staff how to welcome new guests, to be ready for their arrival, have the scooters ready, get more english lessons, this could help, too. Otherwise it’s a magical place.

Beautiful modern rooms in lush green surroundings

Immediately welcomed with a warm smile and welcome drink. The room is very spacious, clean, modern and new. The view from our large balcony was great and also from the bathroom you will have this view. We were by scooter so it was easily for us to get to the town and around, but otherwise they also have a restaurant onsite. Breakfast was tasty. I could definitely recommend this place if you look for a real view of Sidemen in a modern place.
