Really nice and clean rooms with a great bathroom that was half open Good breakfast options at the restaurant close by that was overlooking some lush rice fields Hosts were also super friendly and quick to respond

There is not a lot of natural light inside the room, the bathroom wasn’t great. It is a bit far from Sidemen town and the reception is a 5 minute drive away.

Peaceful oasis off the main road to Agung

Amazing warm welcome . Gusti is a great host and is very helpful in all matters. I loved the peace and solitude by the pool. Even though it’s just off the main road, there were no traffic noises at all. Just the birds and the crickets for company and a beautiful forest view. Wonderful retreat.

When you walk out, the road is not great if you are on foot. You need transport and it’s a long walk to get off the main roads to explore the surrounding villages . Food was good but the small menu means it’s limited for longer stays

Fantastic hosts and beautiful scenery

The hosts are super friendly and very welcoming. They upgraded us to a better room as we required good Wifi to work. They helped sort us moped hire and transport from the pier on arrival, and to Ubud when leaving. Food at the hotel was tasty and very affordable. Beautiful setting.

The shower goes cold quite quickly and you get quite a few ants and other creepy crawlies in the room - But we accepted that we were in the jungle so it was inevitable!

Great room and views, pity about the dog situation

The view is brilliant and is a good size room with TV and AC. Great shower with hot water.

I only thing I didn't like was the dog was tied up the whole time and was whining/crying in his cage and kept us up some of the night. I hope you can change the dog's situation as he needs help as he has open wounds. Also, the road a little bumpy as it's unmade but no real problem

Exceptional

My best friend and me had a wonderful stay at Astana Swaha Estate. We stayed at the top floor with an amazing view over the rice paddies and beautiful sunset. The area is remote which we loved (but still enough warungs and small shops around). The room was comfortable, nice shower. We rented a scooter at Astana and explored all around eastern Bali which was lovely and gave us a lot of freedom (make sure the tires are well inflated). Gusti is a great and kind manager, on our request he took us to a Balinese Hindu purification ceremony which was a wonderful spiritual experience (we had to pay, but definitely worth it). The host, Netri, is the kindest lady we’ve met in Bali, we felt like she was a bit like our Balinese mother. She always made sure we were satisfied, made us a welcome drink, gave us snacks, made delicious breakfast, kept our room superclean, got us ready for the ceremony. She has a very warm heart and we are gonna miss her. The aircon was pretty good if you know how to use it ;-) (use the cool setting and not the fan setting). Thank you for making us feel at home Netri and Gusti!

Loud music from the nearby school starting very early, but I guess it was a special occasion, doesn’t happen often.

Very sweet hosts who arrange anything for you. Very big, comfy and good looking room. Beautiful bathroom, good shower. Attention for details. Nice view from room, ricefields. Facilities that can be used in Astana Swaha villa (there are two locations) are good (e.g. restaurant, swimming pool, relax area, massage) Astana swaha villa is beautifully located amidst the jungle.

Distance between the two locations (Astana swaha estate and villa), almost 1 km distance. The hosts fortunately do take very good care of that, by offering shuttles and scooters, so do not let this scare you away from this amazing stay!

Very expensive to eat and drink at Astana Swaha Villa (main core of the accommodation) and difficult to find other dining options. Some recommendations from the staff at our arrival would have been helpful.

Prima locatie als je zelf vervoer hebt.

Op een rustige locatie gelegen, geen last van het vele verkeer, incl de vele trucks, dat over de nabijgelegen weg reed. De kamer zelf was prima.

Het lag te ver buiten het dorp zelf waardoor je zelf een auto of scooter nodig had of afhankelijk van anderen was. Ik heb slechts 1 restaurantje in de buurt kunnen ontdekken.

Très agréable séjour

Les chambres étaient propres, spacieuses, bien équipées avec une très jolie salle de bain. Le petit déjeuner était juste à côté à travers les rizières et très bon. Nous avons eu un service de laundry impeccable sur place ainsi que la location de scooters.
