We enjoyed a fabulous 2 night stay in a clean, comfy apartment with the perfect view of Lake Como.

The location was perfect, the view was spectacular, and the place itself was clean, comfortable, and offered everything we needed.

The wifi was a little slow, but we were able to use our hotspots just fine! Barely an inconvenience.

Very disappointed

Location and view

The apartment was not clean upon arrival — there were spider webs, stained bedsheets that hadn’t been changed, and dirty cups. The host told us to move to another hotel instead of fixing the issue. We had to sleep on top of the sheets and use towels on the pillows. There was also no shampoo, soap, or AC in the single room as advertised. Very disappointing stay.

Like the location but not the unit.

The location is the only good point of the property.

The unit is old: 1) the entry to the house is old and dirty 2) bedding and towels are old. We were surprised that the host did not provide shampoo/conditioner and the body soap/gels. There were fruits on the table but they are not fresh (better without it!). Since the unit does not have air conditioning it was quite hot in the afternoon.

Fantastic views of Lago Como in a great locaction!

Amazing views of Lake Como out of both windows! Clean and comfortable apartment with cookies awaiting our arrival. :) (Nice touch!) Giada the host was very nice. All the utensils we needed for our two night stay.

No blankets on bed, only a sheet. No large drying rack for clothes. Cigarette smoke from apartment below wafting into our bedroom at night and the noise from cafe below. Some utensils and dishes were dirty, so we had to wash first before using.

Lovely view and lovely location with a comfortable stay

The location is unrivaled. You are in walking distance to all things in Varenna and to the ferry terminal without having to worry about driving anywhere. And all of that with an amazing view. Staff was super responsive Apartment is very well equipped for simple meals as well

It would be nice to have a few toiletries available. The markets in Varenna are small and some items can be difficult to find after 6pm

Nice little apartment in the middle of everything

Excellent location. Walking distance to all restaurants and attractions in Varenna. It was well equipped, although we didn't use the kitchen. We travel always with high-end earplugs so never an issue with the noise from the street.

The pillows are extremely uncomfortable. Had to take a towel and roll it to use it and that was even more comfortable than the pillows.

Amazing stay at affordable price

The property is a short walk from Varenna station and close to all facilities, villas and restaurants. It has a nice view of the lake and there is flexibility with check in and check out depending on availability. There is some welcome drinks and cookies and also a smart TV so you can enjoy movies at night. The price was competitive considering the location and peak holiday season. Overall it was an amazing stay.

Overall, a pleasant experience

The owner took care of the details, the apartment had everything you need and more. Convenient location in the center. Clean, comfortable kitchen with dishes and even an oven.

If you like to sleep with the window open, then this will not work here, because under the windows the road and cars are felt so loudly that it is impossible not to wake up. There was also a smell of dampness in the apartment, but visually we did not find mold.

Excellent location and value for money

Excellent location, a few minutes from everything we needed and only about a 10 minute walk from the station. It was basic, but perfect for us and had a stunning view of the lake. Excellent value for money.

As others have mentioned, no tea towels and the kitchen is fairly basic (although we pretty much ate out). The floor was also quite dirty from looking at our bare feet - other than this, it was very clean.

Perfect location in Varenna.

Perfect location in Varenna. On the main main road and and an easy walk to the ferry or train station, without any of the typical stairs in Varenna. Communication with the host was good. The apartment was actually nicer than it appeared in the photos. It was great for a short stay.

Unable to close shutters since I was too short to reach the latch and had to sleep with bright light shining into bedroom through the sheer curtains. It was also impossible to hang clothes as the closet bar was far out of reach for most adults. There was a pole to to assist with the hangars - but who wants to do this? The only outlet that fit was hairdryer was over the washing machine - thankfully you could also see in the closet mirror. For us the beds were not comfortable and nor were the flat pillows. We were surprised that there were no dish towels to use in the kitchen. I suppose we could have dried our dishes with a bath towel.

Great location. Everything within short walking distance, 1 minute to the main Square, 5 minutes to the ferry and 10 to the train. View of the lake from the side and bathroom windows. Host was very helpful.

The apartment is close to the center and the station and it has a nice view but not the expected mind blowing one (you could see the lake from one single window in the living room). The owner accepted a late check out.

It was super expensive (360 eur for 2 nights in low season when almost nothing is open) for what it was: an average place with little to no attention to detail - the closet doors were removed and were standing in the way, the owner left coffee in the kitchen but no lighter to be able to actually use that Moka pot, the cleaning was not done properly, there was no soap in the bathroom and no shower gel, we found a dirty towel hanging in the bathroom.

Beautiful stay in Varenna

Beautiful apartment with lake view! It had all the basic amenities.. lovely place for a family of 3 .. Giada , our host was very accommodating and let us check in early and check out late .. she was also helpful with suggestions about things to go while we were there.. we would definitely recommend this place for a holiday in Lake Como!

The location was perfect with amazing views from 2 of the windows located next to the bedroom. Sound proof double glazing stopped all traffic noise from the road below but wonderful shutters on all windows to open and look out from.

Although I'm not pedantic, the general cleaning and preparation for new guests could have been a little better. Only 2 pillows provided for 2 guests, an additional covering for the provided bed sheet was an uncovered doona stuffed into a cupboard, previous guests part used toiletries and sanitary items left in the bathroom and the floor, although swept, felt dirty.

Location was great. Amazing view from the apartment!

Aircon was listed, but not actually available in the apartment. I assume usually not a problem, but it was very hot when we were there in the middle of summer! Laundry machine wasn't working, but Gaida (host) allowed us to use the one in the apartment next door. When things weren't quite right, Gaida (host) really helped us solve any problems, and tried to make us feel at home.

The view is nice, just in front of the lake. apartment is spacious and has a washing machine which is good.

1) The house does not have aircon and it was very warm when we stayed. when we opened the windows, the flies came in and there were mosquitoes as well. My husband and son got bitten in the night. 2) The room was not properly cleaned when we reached. pillows on the floor and floor was dirty. when we told the owner she did offer to waive the cleaning fees though we did not accept. 3) furniture minimal and space was not well made used of. feels empty. 4) was noisy till around 11 pm as it was situated above a restaurant and the voices of the patrons could be heard very distinctly. the sound of cars moving past at the road towards the bedroom could also be heard.
