We loved our first trip to Varenna and we were thrilled to have such a wonderful location in Casa al Prato. We had an incredible view. Didn’t need the full kitchen as we were only there for 2 nights. But we couldn’t have used much anyway as there was almost nothing there to work with (as far as spices, condiments, etc. the supplies were sparse in general. One roll of toilet paper, one tab for dishwasher and laundry. It felt more like a long term
Rental than a cozy home for a couple nights.
The view, location, and the cleanliness of everything else made up for it but next visit we’ll look for a different apartment or try to make sure this one has been updated.
We were very disappointed by the poor run-down condition of the couches. Not only worn to the bones but faded, ripped, falling apart. They do the apartment a terrible injustice as they’re the first thing you see when you enter!

Great location and lovely views from the balcony
The wine provider was a nice touch
The heating was not working so it was very cold . Eventually someone came to fix the heating and it was working
The video tutorial for the heating was wrong
Only one mirror in a 2 bedroom apartment
There was a coffee percolator but no filters to be able to use it

location is fine but all the rest is average
we only had one fan as the other was broken making it difficult to sleep without a/c

Location was very central with a beautiful view. Property itself was excellent inside and very spacious. Apt G had to floors with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom upstairs. Small balcony off the living area with fantastic views of the Lake.
Property is in the middle of a hilly cobble stone lane, so would not recommend it for anyone with a disability. Also, more mirrors are needed. There was only one mirror in the bathroom and none anywhere else at all. We were attending my daughter's wedding so as you can imagine, everyone trying to get ready at once with just one small wall mirror in the bathroom wasn't good.
