Amazing location and fabulous base for exploring lake como.

We liked the amount of space perfect for a family of 4 with two teenagers. The location was amazing and we loved the views. Great facilities if you did want to eat in. We ate out in the local restaurants which were 2 minutes away. Easy directions for getting into the apartment and support on the phone when I was being silly and turning the key the wrong way.

A few cobwebs in the corners. Could maybe have some extra pillows on the beds.

Disgusting and filthy. Not worth the money paid

Ability to check in earlier, the location was good

The lack of communication with owners, the torn and smelly chairs, the filthy doonas which we had to get out of the stuffed basket, the stained pillow case with no cover, no dish washing liquid cloths, one small roll of toilet paper for 4 adults for 4 days. Be warned there’s alot of stairs. Same problem with other reviews. If you’re asking for comments, listen and correct.

The location was great, and we loved listening and looking out of the balcony to the lake, and people going by. We loved the wine!

The bathroom needs a little attention (shower leaks, and light fittings are loose) , and the sofa was not that comfy.

Attic rooms are hot and stuffy in summer. As these are old buildings there is no air conditioner though the host did provide fans on request. The lounge area needs updating as sofa is torn. The bathroom has only one light switch and the toilet bin was broken. Instructions manuals in English for operating the washing machine would be helpful. Also WiFi instructions were misleading.. eventually got the right one the day before we left. A visitor book with instructions would help.

Beautiful apartment, but need basic supplies

The apartment is in an excellent location in the heart of Varenna, right above the popular Al Prato restaurant, with a beautiful view of the lake. The living area is spacious and comfortable, and the host was helpful and responsive. A complimentary bottle of wine was a nice touch, and the beds provided a good night’s sleep. Drying laundry is easy in the living room.

The apartment was missing some basic supplies, including tissues, paper towels, dish soap/sponges and adequate toilet paper. If cost is a concern for the management, it might make more sense to skip the bottle of wine and instead provide basic essentials. In a small town like this, it’s not always clear to a tourist where to buy those items. The sofa set is very worn and in need of replacement. The bedrooms are located in the attic with low, sloped ceilings. It worked fine for three adults but could be challenging for four. There’s no air conditioning, though the lake breeze at night made it more comfortable.

Perfect location for our Varenna visit

Fantastic location. Nice clean apartment which was great for our stay with friends. Lovely views and easy access to restaurants, bars, ferries and station.

There are quite a few steps up to the apartment which won't suit everyone but fine for us. Last time we went there was a small welcome pack of groceries although not much this time. The wine was a nice touch, thank you. Coffee only provided for 3 and was decaffeinated. There was a broken light in the bathroom and bin broken too. The sofas had seen better days but comfortable enough - we didn't sit in them much.

Check in was 4pm but the apartment was not clean. we had to wait until 6pm. No hot water, no hand towels and no tea towels.

The location is great. Love the little views from the bedrooms and especially the shared deck. Plenty of storage.

10 am check out time. Why not make the 10 x 10 ft viewing deck exceptional? Put an awning on the canopy and a few more chairs on the deck. The bedrooms are "dormer" style so you can't stand up on the outskirts of the bedroom due to the low ceiling.

Nightmare

They didn’t provide me the towels and pillow covers. As soon as I found that I suddenly informed their staff. They replied me but they couldn’t do anything, just asking me to call their local team. I don’t know why they can’t contact their local team by themselves. I couldn’t make a phone call because of no internet for calling (only data internet). I had to ask the staff of the other hotel to call for me in another day. That means I had to use my pyjamas in stead of the towels and brought my used clothes to cover the pillows at the first night. It was a nightmare for my family. The price we paid is not cheap. Unluckily me!!!!!!!

Great location; nice water views but not up to US standards for management or guest experiences.

We liked the convenient location and the pretty views. Kitchen had adequate cutlery; minimal pans/accessories. However, virtually NONE of the appliances other than the fridge and the stove would function, which made even limited cooking difficult. No kitchen towels, dirty used kitchen scrub pad, gross. I liked that were 3 fans for hot upper sleeping level, as no AC in this unit. Liked that washer was on premises and worked (but no directions in English on machine or on premises)

There were no introductory materials on premises, such as indicating where to put trash, whether TV worked or not (not), local places to buy groceries, which is something we have come to expect at US AirBnB type stays. I contacted locally property management about the non-functional appliances (microwave, toaster, hot pot, iron, coffee maker) at least 4 times boy phone and email and NOTHING was ever done-despite that fact that I called then the day we checked in, assurances were given and we stayed an entire week. To call them management is a joke; apparently they think that only means arranging for cleaning, towels and virtually nothing else during our visit. There is no AC here, unfortunately as Varenna can be hot in summer months. Fans helped.

Nice apartment but the water temperature needs fixing

The apartment is well located in the centre of Varenna, close to the lake & the main piazza. The flat is spacious with 2 large bedrooms with a great view of the lake from the living room. Flat is located on the 2nd floor (stairs only) with an extra set of stairs to reach the bedrooms (to keep in mind if you struggle walking up the stairs). Directions provided by the agency are straight forward. We stayed there 2 nights and did not use the kitchen but everything seemed to be there.

There seems to be a problem with the water temperature, which means you need to leave the shower on at the hottest point for a good 5 minutes before you can hope to get hot water. Not very environmentally friendly. The bedrooms are on the top floor of the building - right under the roof - so the rooms can get quite hot with the hot weather. Fans are provided but keep that in mind if traveling during summer and you are sensitive to the heat.

Everything! The stunning views, especially from the apartment. The location, local shops and restaurants - all excellent! The food and service from the restaurants we ate at were all amazing...The locals are so friendly!

The property was centrally located in a very touristed area. Property was clean. Manager very responsive to our questions.

Bar downstairs was loud. There was the smell of something dead that grew over our three days there. It was in the bathroom and we reported it to manager. The main issue was lots of steps. This would not be a good place for people with bad knees.

Great location! Loved the table and chairs with the lake view that was available for our use! We loved our time in Varenna.

It was quite warm outside and without air conditioners the apartment was very warm during the day. The fan in the living room didn’t work. Would have been nice to have guide books in the apartments as well.

Väldigt kallt och lyhört. Hördes tydligt när andra i huset pratade, duschade eller var på toaletten. Framkom inte var man skulle slänga soporna. Länken på lappen som satt på ytterdörren fungerade inte. Slitna och trasiga soffor som inte var fräscha att sitta i.
