Lovely stay with Great view.

Fantastic location with great views. Very nice property with all the basic facilities - kitchen, laundry, heaters etc. The owner Mr. Luca is friendly and approachable. The instructions for check in were very clear with video as it was not possible for him to meet personally. The best thing is the location with fantastic views. In fact, on reaching the property we decided to enjoy and stay there only rather than going out in the ferry! The property is just at the end of Lover’s walk above the Gelato place in Varenna.

Fantastic stay - incredible location.

Location so phenomenal - couldn’t be in a better spot. Clean throughout, and totally fine for our group of 2 couples. The 2nd bed (a fold out) surprisingly comfortable. Communication from host was excellent and I appreciated the additional flexibility around some timings. We were blown away by this - excellent value for Como.

Not something ‘not to like’ exactly, but be aware that Varenna is full of quite steep steps in the alleys and pavements. This is part of the charm of Varenna - but does mean the alley to the property has some very steep/tricky steps. If you aren’t able to carry your suitcase up 10 steps, this isn’t the property for you. I want to be clear though - NO property in the centre of Varenna will have access without these sort of steps. If you want to be in the heart of the village, you need to be able to cope with that.

Enjoyed walking to the castle, taking the ferry to other cities on Como and dining in a quaint town.

Perfect location, easy walk to everything Varenna has to offer. Close to great restaurants and short walk to ferry. Unit was a bit spartan, but clean and functional. Beautiful spot on lake Como!

Outdoor light above door was out, but no big deal. People with limited mobility or elderly should not stay here - the steps are difficult with luggage! We were fine, but some might struggle. Soap dispenser empty (BYO shampoo and soap).

Perfect balcony to enjoy the lake and escape the crowds

Fabulous balcony in a great location. Perfect to sit in the sun with a glass of wine and watch the passing parade down below with the beautiful lake as a backdrop. Luca was a great host - great communication!

Our stay at Casa Margherita made our trip to Lake Como even more special

The location of the apartment is amazing — it offers a spectacular view of Varenna's lakefront and of the lake, and is right in the heart of the restaurant area, yet still peaceful and quiet. The apartment itself is very spacious and spotlessly clean. The beds are very comfortable, and although we didn’t meet the host in person, communication with him was excellent.

Best spot in Varenna (for walking guests)!!!

Very central place in the heart of Varenna and amazing view of the lake Como. Thebplace is quite big for two as it has additional room for kid/single we didnt use. The kitchen and bath well fitted with all.you need for gettjng skne breakfast or washing of clothes. Perfect to discover the surroundings areas waterfront, the villas(Cipressi and Monastero) and moving across to Bellagio and Menaggio. I'd strongly reco to stay in the area if you dont have a car and will move by foot and ferry. The transit from Milan to Varenna was also scenic for the 2nd part bus ride from Lecco. Its apparently temporary and shld be direct by train when works are completed. Luca the host was very helpful and reachable by whatsapp for any questions pre-arrival and during the stay.

Some upgrades may be required for the flooring inside as its still the old ceramic tiles that may be of some charm to some.. Some additional deep clean of sofas in the lounge as had some stains remained.

Magnificent setting. BEST location in Varenna..

This location and setting cannot be beaten. The apartment is right on the waters edge in the heart of cafes and Varennas famous boardwalk and the ferry. We loved watching all the action on the lake from the sunny deck. I even hung my washing out in Italian style over the balcony! The apartment was spacious and modern. Modern bathroom and washing machine and dryer too a bonus. We would stay again for sure.

Lovely big kitchen needs a few more items. Tea towels and a cloth for washing up dishes (there were none). Wooden spoon and a toaster. We stayed for 4 nights so we did cook!

Excellent relaxing stay!

Excellent location with a variety of dining options in very close proximity, including gelato at the bottom of the steps; gorgeous views from the balcony with seating; washer/dryer and Nespresso machine; easy access to ferry transport; proximity of dock below for water taxis- easy access to unit

Communication initiated about possibility of retrieving two items accidentally left in unit by my wife, but communication ceased after initial acknowledgement

We loved our time in Varenna at Casa Margherita!

The location is fabulous! Beautiful view of the water and close to restaurants and shops. The apartment was comfortable and cool, with great air conditioning.

The washer wasn’t working during our stay, but the dryer was nice to use for our wet swimsuits. The second bedroom was a pretty small space for my two teenagers to share. They made it work, but it was a tight squeeze.

Exceptional view of the lake!

The apartment has a front line view of the lake. It is stunning! We spent evenings and mornings sitting on the balcony watching the world go by. Watching the sunset was pure bliss ❤️

There was air conditioning in the lounge and main bedroom, but it did get hot in the apartment at night.

The stay was excellent, with a welcoming, accessible, and accommodating host.

This apartment met all of my expectations. It was spacious and clean. The location and view were excellent.

The temperature was a little cold in the smaller room, even with the heat turned up in the living room. But that was only the first night, when outdoor temperatures were below average.

Amazing apartment in Varrena right on Lake Como!

The apartment was amazing. We were traveling as a family (2 adults and 2 kids) and we had heaps of space. It was perfectly located right in Varenna on the edge of Lake Como. The views each morning from the lounge and balcony are amazing. Each day the lake and mountains look different - depending on the sun and cloud. It’s a great little haven to escape the busy crowds during the peak of the afternoon - put your feet up and enjoy a spritz or two. All the essential facilities were provided for cooking and clothes washing, etc. Luca our host was extremely helpful.

Not really a problem with the property, more with the length of time we spent in the showers as a family of 4. But the hot water did run short on a few occasions. Again not really an issue with the property but you just need to have quick showers.

Wonderful stay, would come back in a heartbeat.

Perfect location, close to restaurants, ferry and private boat rentals. Apartment was very clean and comfortable, and the view!!! The host Luca, sent a lovely lady to meet us and give us a hand to the apartment the first day-which was very much appreciated as I have mobility limitations and my husband welcomed the help.

Comfortable with an amazing view

Right on the lake edge, the location was perfect. The bed and lounge furniture was comfortable. Sitting in the lounge or on the balcony you can watch and be part of all the activity that goes on in Varenna and on Lake Como. A superb place to relax with cafes and restaurants just minimal steps away.

The outside steps were a slight challenge due to being slippery as was raining (we are an older couple too which makes a difference) but this is life when travelling - you can’t change the weather. Even so a perfect place to stay.

Varenna is beautiful and this apartment is perfectly located. The view is spectacular. Luca, our host, was welcoming and provided great restaurant recommendations.

It was warm, even with a portable A/C. I understand that the apartment is being renovated this winter and A/C will be installed.

Exceptional

A beautiful, large apartment with a wonderful view of the lake, located in the very center of Varenna. The apartment is very clean, there is a washing machine with washing liquid. The rooms are very spacious with large wardrobes and comfortable beds. Good contact with the host.

L’appartement est très bien situé, mais à éviter ABSOLUMENT en hiver

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié la situation géographique idéale du logement. L’appartement est très beau, propre, et le lit est particulièrement confortable

Nous avons rencontré un problème majeur avec le chauffage. Nous avons passé le Nouvel An dans l’appartement (trois nuits) et avons eu froid pendant tout le séjour, le chauffage ne fonctionnant pas correctement. Les deux climatisations doivent tourner en permanence, font énormément de bruit et ne parviennent pas à chauffer l’ensemble de l’appartement. Nous avons dû ajouter un chauffage d’appoint dans la salle de bain, également à pleine puissance, pour atteindre péniblement 17 - 18 °C. Nous n'avons pas été en mesure d'utilser la cuisine car n'étant pas équipé de chauffage, il y faisait très froid. De plus, l’installation électrique disjonctait régulièrement, rendant impossible un chauffage correct. Le propriétaire a reconnu qu’il s’agissait d’un vrai problème de l’appartement, mais aucune solution n’a pu être trouvée. Nous regrettons également qu’il n’ait pas été plus flexible : bien qu’un arrangement nous ait été promis, il s’est finalement rétracté et n’a pas tenu sa parole. C’est dommage. Nous déconseillons donc fortement ce logement en période hivernale.
